My mother was at Meadowbrook Lagrange for two to three weeks. It's a newer building and because it's newer, it was fairly nice. The room was a little bigger with wider doors and bigger windows. When I was coming later at night, they seemed to be a little short-staffed. The food was hospital food. She was on pureed stuff and she wasn't eating it and she would constantly complain about the food. They could've used a little more staff, and the food could have been a little more appetizing. I wish mom could have stayed there, but they didn't have anything for Medicaid persons available. She had her own room, and it was nice. It's very clean. Everyone was very friendly, polite, and handled everything. It's a beautiful and newer facility. They had a really beautiful courtyard. It was nicely landscaped, and they even had a waterfall in there and my mom's window faced that. I saw people, nurses, and CNAs taking residents outdoors and just families getting together.

The rooms are dreary and old looking, I would say a mess. The food is like all hospital facilities bland and boring. If you get a roommate it may be one that screams and yells all night and day, like an insane person. The staff is not existent my friend waited for 2 hours for water just water. She has people bring her treats like candy and cookies for her to munch on, they seem to all disappear before she ever gets to them. All in all there is no great place to stay when you get older unless you are really rich, this one leaves a lot to be desired. I personally would prefer death.

If you want your loved one get no care this is the place for you. Unfortunately for us it was during Covid when my brother was transferred here for rehab after hip surgery. We were told this was Loyola’s number one place to send patients for rehab. We could not visit because of Covid or I would have gotten him out of there. Looks nice from the outside, but little to no care for the patients. He went in on a Friday, and the answer for everything was it’s the weekend we will take care of it on Monday. He received zero rehab, they didn’t even have a chair he could sit in so he spent three days in bed. By Sunday he didn’t even have a working call button. Sometime Sunday night into Monday morning he suffered a stroke and passed away three weeks later. It has taken a long time to be able to write this, but I hope I can save another family from this agony. If I could give a zero I would!!

My father is in Meadowbrook Lagrange for rehab. He just started two weeks ago. It's nice, friendly, and welcoming, and so far, everybody has been helpful and knowledgeable. His room is nice; it's a bedroom with a bath. There are some shared rooms. He doesn't participate in activities, but they do offer other things.

My sister is at the Meadowbrook LaGrange nursing home. They have 2 large parking spaces, one especially for the doctors and then the other one for the visitors. I noticed that and I liked it even though I got lost the first time I was there. My sister's room is very, very nice. It has a shower, and a bathroom with a sink even though she doesn't use it because she cannot walk. It's all very clean. There's a bed and two windows in the room, and it's nice and big. They have nice nurses. There are a lot of people in and out of her room all the time too for medication or therapy. She's very happy there. The place is very clean, the employees are very kind, and everybody there is so nice.

I was at Meadowbrook La Grange from Feb. 1 through Mar.12, 2022. I was there for rehab after surgery on a fractured tibia. The physical plant is beautiful but the care from the CNA's was terrible. I was non ambulatory for several weeks and had to depend on the CNA's for just about everything. i would put my light on and twenty minutes later, a CNA would come in, turn the light off, and say "back in a second". They would then disappear for another twenty minutes. The physical therapy department was great. The therapists worked with me to learn to walk again. The activities department was also great. The activities people planned fun and interesting activities to help us pass the time. Some activities were Bingo, Taco Tuesday, trivia games and a Superbowl party. Meadowbrook is a for profit facility so they might not be hiring enough people to look after the residents. Food was ok but hot dishes stood for too long and were cold when the trays came.

The Meadowbrook in LaGrange is so understaffed you do not want your loved one to stay in this place ever! The food is not nutritional, they give everyone the same meal even if your condition call for you not to have that dish. A patient can ring the bell for help for a very long time before someone respond, it seems as though people are lined in the hallway waiting to die..so depressing, not a good place to place anyone that you love.
