We have just moved my mom into Hopedale Commons (East). Everything was very positive. The room is very nice. It has just been remodeled. New bathroom cabinets and countertops. Everything had been painted. I like the vinyl floor more than the old carpeting that was in some of the units we looked at. This one had been updated and had vinyl flooring, which works better for walkers and chairs. Everything was good with the unit. I asked my mom how the food was and she said the food was good. The staff were very responsive and answered all the questions when we were looking at it. I saw some card games going on and a lot of people exercising in the hallways, like walking laps. Everything has been updated, well kept, and clean. The exterior was well-kept. It looks like they have some group things. I looked at assisted living, they have movies and trips and stuff like that, but with independent living, everyone can still have a car or has their family can come and pick them up and such. It was very reasonable for what we looked at out there. They have assisted living right in the building next door, so if that progressed that was available to my mom also.

The Hopedale Commons is wonderful. It's upscale middle class, and there are a lot of volunteers, which I think is what makes the place look so attractive. You can stay in your room or you can go out to do several different things. I'm impressed with the place, however it is expensive. They have music, speakers, a book club, card games, and they play bingo. There are volunteers in the assisted living and nursing home sections, and they mostly talk and listen to the residents.

I was given a tour of these facilities by Mr. Rossi, the COO of the facility. He gave us a tour of the nursing home, the assisted living facilities, the hospital, and the wellness center. The whole facility felt like an oasis, as it was very modern in the middle of rural Illinois. We met several of the staff, who were all very friendly. Mr. Rossi explained that their nursing home and assisted living facilities aim to take care of aging people who are comfortable in a rural setting. The town of Hopedale was small, but the Hopedale Medical Complex was large. Despite this, the atmosphere was very inviting. Even the modern spaces, like the new wellness center, felt inviting and welcoming like the town of Hopedale itself.I was impressed by Mr. Rossi and his staff. They seem very committed for providing quality service and care to the people of Hopedale and the surrounding communities.
