My mother is a resident of Faith Countryside Homes. It has assisted living, nursing home, and memory care, and she's in the memory section. It's all there kind of together, the assisted living is on one side, the nursing home is on the other, and then the memory unit is a smaller section of that nursing home. Because of COVID, there's no way to get in, but it seems very nice. I've had several people tell me that they've heard good things about it, that's why I chose to go there. I could go around to the window and call Mom on the phone and talk to her, but I couldn't go inside because of COVID. They had a couple issues where people had come in and then gotten sick, so they decided to keep people out for the time being. They're now doing a structured kind of visit where they let them in to a special room where they've got a divider, so that they can sit and talk with family members, but they can't breathe on them or anything. I've had a lot of good interaction with the staff, especially the head nurses, and they've been very helpful and very conscientious about the care of my mom. It was important to choose this one because the other places were memory units but they were not skilled, and that's what people don't ever tell you. Mom needed skilled nurses to help her, and the other places only got one person, and they don't have enough to help her get up and walk. She needed help learning how to walk and all that. It looks clean and nice, and it's better than a lot of the places in the area. Mom is kind of picky and I told them that she likes mashed potatoes and gravy, biscuits and gravy, and things like that, and they've actually been trying to make her what she likes to help her gain her weight back. There's a lot of places that won't even bother to do that.
