My parents are in Granite Nursing & Rehabilitation, and it seems like they're pretty happy. It's a long-term care facility because my mom needed quite a bit of nursing care, but I was able to find them a room together with a private bath, so I was happy about that. The facility itself is an older place, but it's very clean. It doesn't have bad smells. What struck me was everyone is just so friendly and they have a very good rehab facility also. They have lots of activities for their residents. Overall, I'm very happy with it. So far, so good. My mom went in and had pretty severe edema in her legs, and that's all cleared up. She was in a pretty expensive rehab center prior to that for three weeks, and they didn't manage to do anything about it. She's only been in this facility for a couple of weeks and it's already pretty well cleared up. I haven't tried the food myself. I've seen it when my parents are eating when I've been over there and it looks good. They said most of the food's pretty good and they're pretty picky. I think they would like it better if they'd go down to the dining room. So far, they're having their meals delivered to their room and sometimes they complain that it's not hot. It's more or less my parents' fault, but overall, they seem to like it.

My husband was a resident here. And so was I for a short time. The nurses was great to my husband and I. If they had a problem with my husband they would call me. The main person that always contacted me was Pam she did everything she could do for my husband and for me. Thank you everyone at Granite City Nursing an Rehabilitation.

Physical therapy was good. Staff was bad getting people off toilet 2 hrs. Waiting at night. Food not nutritionalisy balanced. No water given to patients. Staff unreasponsive to your needs. This place needs some MAjOR organizational help! The staff, kitchen, and nursing help need a major overhaul.

My husbands Grandparents were placed in this nursing home. They are GREAT they helped all of our family dealing with dementia and were able to rehab to home our Grandfather.
