The staff are incredible. My mom has severe dementia and they work with her like she is their own grandmother. Every, single, one of them. They just care. For real. This place is like none other.

Rooms are 2 residents. Private rooms are available but much more expensive. Room size was fine. Medicaid beds are usually 4 to a room but I was surprised to see that the medicaid patients received the same excellent care as the private pay clients. I had visited several nursing homes and knew people in other nursing homes before I decided on Dobson for my mother. She entered when she was 96 and lived until 101. She had very serious illnesses including COPD and heart disease and a list of other things. They took excellent care of her and always called me if there was any problem. If she needed any procedure or Xray they always called to tell me. She was there from 2019 until 2023. COVID was very challenging since they couldn't have group activities and many things they were used to. The staff handled it all. I was amazed at how caring their staff is. They're like a family. My mother had dementia and got worse and they were always so nice to her and so understanding even when her behavior wasn't the best. (That's an understatement.) The food there is excellent which is usually the main thing residents complain about. My mother had been in rehab 4 x for extended periods at other places and she always complained about the food. She loved the food at Dobson. When I came at dinner time everything looked and smelled delicious. They never knew when I was dropping in. Family is always welcome. The main thing to look at is toileting. I have been to nursing homes where the smell hits you when you walk in. There was NEVER an odor at Dobson. I had a friend at a very expensive nursing home and they never came when she needed to go to the bathroom. At Dobson they always took her to the bathroom promptly. She never had bed sores. I know this because when she first moved in she could still tell me everything. And as I mentioned there was never an odor in the building. I even visited the floor with advanced dementia and Alzheimers patients and it was very clean. The owner and director are lovely people and the staff and director of nursing answered all of my questions even if they were busy. At the end we added hospice but the staff was still excellent in their care of her.

When I had to make the difficult decision to move my dad into a long term care facility, I made sure to do my research. I visited several places and walked out extremely sad until I found Dobson Plaza. The moment I walked in and met with Cathy and Charlotte I knew my decision was made. This was the best decision I could have made for my dad. Everyone at Dobson no matter their position are so caring and friendly. From the moment you walk in the door you feel like everyone is family. In addition, it is kept extremely clean. Most importantly, the care, love and respect that was given to my dad was incredible. Although I was lucky to be able to visit everyday, I knew when I was not there he was being treated well. The staff is by far the most caring and capable caretakers. It is extremely unusual that even the Director of Nursing knows everyone by name and checks on every resident on a daily basis. Not only was my dad treated like family, I truly felt like they were my family as well. I was blessed to have my dad's end of life be in such a caring environment.

I was not only looking for excellent care, but compassion as well. There wasn't a person at Dobson who didn't know my name and who I was visiting within the second time I came through the doors. Everybody is treated like family. The care is second to none, and wouldn't hesitate in recommending the facility to friends and family. When I first came in to hear about Dobson, Cathy was all ears. She listened to my concerns, my relatives needs, and I immediately felt relived knowing I lucked out and found a winning facility. Call in meetings are set up to constantly keep me updated with all of the department heads. When I do stop by to visit, I'm greeted immediately, and always with enthusiasm. In short, the staff are kind caring people.

My Aunt has been a Dobson Plaza resident since August 2020. In light of her dementia, and as her sole Caregiver, I had to make a number of heart-wrenching decisions on her behalf. Fortunately in making the long term care decision, I was blessed to be able to interface with Dobson Plaza's Assistant Administrator. The Assistant Administrator's caring attitude, extensive knowledge, and incredible experience was invaluable in helping me make a very tough decision. Now, 6 months later, I view Dobson Plaza as a trusted partner. My Aunt is definitely being cared for and supported by a very compassionate, well-qualified, highly professional Staff. I looked at a number of alternative long term care options prior to selecting Dobson Plaza. I know I made the right choice. Every day I say two things to myself. First, "thank you Dobson Plaza Staff for keeping my Aunt safe and secure during this challenging stage in her life." Second, "thank you Dobson Plaza Staff for giving me piece of mind and for significantly reducing my stress level during our global pandemic."

My mother (Vascular Dementia/Alz) has been a resident of Dobson Plaza for the last 2 years. The facility recently went though a beautiful renovation, has always been immaculately clean and the staff has a very low turnover. While I was no longer able to care for my mother given her health complications, I have always felt beyond comfortable leaving her in the care of this incredible staff. I am always updated on her health with regular care meetings, I have gotten to know the other residents on Mom's floor (I have played some super fun Bingo games pre-Covid!) and feel like a member of the Dobson Plaza family. The care given to my mother and the other residents is unmatched, especially for a Medicaid facility. Dobson Plaza is a hidden gem full of so much love and compassion for their residents and families. I will forever hold them in my heart for all they have done for my mother.

My mother in law was a resident of Dobson Plaza and received exceptional care. The management was professional and caring and the level of nursing care was unsurpassed. We always knew that we could rest at ease knowing that she was in good, safe hands at Dobson. I know she enjoyed the food and the opportunity to make friends among the residents. Dobson went out of their way to make sure that my mother in law was cared for and entertained during her stay. It is this level of care that earns my highest recommendation for senior living. Thank you Dobson Plaza!

My family member was a resident for close to a year and a half. The staff was wonderful and cared deeply about him. He loved it there and flourished once moving in. The home always kept us in the loop. He enjoyed the food there as well. He often mentioned the music entertainment that came in to entertain. He enjoyed the bingo too! Our family is very happy he spent the end of his life there and so happy.

Dobson Plaza is atmospherically different from other facilities that take in medicaid dependent residents with its homey atmosphere and congenial administration and staff members, but it’s a facade. The care they give is subpar. Take a tour of their sister site. They can’t seem to keep staff and do not have a Memory Care program even though they claim they do. My loved one was suffering from dementia and was otherwise physically healthy when they moved into Dobson and quickly deteriorated after a 15 month stay at Dobson. The caregivers at Dobson don’t know how to manage residents with dementia and are mostly depended on drugging or keeping them seated for hours in theIr day room. My loved always appeared disheveled and unclean. Even though I visited often and was active in my loved ones care, reporting health concerns and physical condition, my loved one still wound up in the ICU with severe dehydration which caused damage to a kidney. My loved one died three weeks later. I later learned from the hospital’s medical report that my loved one was also suffering from acute UTI. While I was dealing with my loved ones medical care in the hospital Dobson never reached out to see how they were doing and nor offered any condolences.

When my mother was in need of skilled nursing care is I was very pleased to have found Dobson plaza. The facility is homey and the staff are very committed to take very good care of the residents. I felt my mother was in very good hands and the staff did a terrific job of communicating with my family.
