My father has been at The Vines Senior Homes for about a month now, and it's fairly good. The care and the meals are very good. It's a small place, so the care there is excellent. The staff is excellent. It's pretty much 1-level, and it was decorated very nice. They kept it clean, and they got nice areas for family to sit in for visiting. They do activities with the residents there. My dad can't go out because of his situation, but they take the residents, who are walking, out. They have a shuttle bus, and they take them to appointments.

My father currently lives at The Vines. My 89 year old mother was his 24/7 caregiver. In an effort to relieve the stress she was under, we toured many facilities. The Vines was the only facility she could see my Dad living at. Now my Mom visits my Dad often. He is in a safe home environment with a helpful staff and home cooked meals. They often have live music which my Dad thoroughly enjoys. In fact, their last event, a New Year's Eve party with live entertainment created a lasting great memory for my Mom sharing the holiday with my Dad, since it was the nicest one she has had in the last 5 years. The Vines is not only the solution to your loved ones care, it is the solution to your whole family's peace knowing your family member is being taken care of by staff that truly cares about the residents. They are building a beautiful, new addition which will enhance the already lovely facility. If you are in the tough decision making process of placing a loved one in a home, I strongly consider visiting this facility.

Over the last 15 years we have evaluated several Assisted Living/Nursing Homes and used 4 different facilities for our parents and an aunt. My mother has been a resident at the Vines for over 3 years and is very happy living there. The Vines is far superior than all the other places we dealt with. It has a home like atmosphere with exceptional care and compassion shown by all the nurses and aides, and the various activities keep the residents engaged. The care is the main quality that sets the Vines above all the other places. The facility is always clean and the daily meals are nutritious and delicious. We would highly recommend the Vines for anyone looking for an Assisted Living/Nursing Home facility.

When I arrived for my scheduled tour, I stood by the front door for about 5 minutes. There was no reception area and people would walk by without even saying "hello" or "can I help you". I finally met with Laurie (RN) she had me sit in her cluttered office for a few minutes and tell her about my Father and his needs. She then showed me around. Very small place. No model, I was shown actual resident rooms. The visiting rooms are loaded with a collection of mismatched couches and chairs, reminded me of the Goodwill furniture section, between that and the low ceiling it made me feel very claustophobic. People were sitting everywhere in wheelchairs with no stimulation. They have an on site hair salon. Also there is an outdoor screened porch and mini golf, I was asked to go into the laundry room and look out a window to see the outside. Laurie said that the main form of outing was going out to restaurants. All in all I would say I was not very happy with my tour. It lasted 10 minutes and Laurie was very vague with answers to my questions. For example, I asked her what kind of outings and activities they do, her initial answer was "oh, we do all kinds of things" it took her a minute to give me a more specific answer of "bingo, card games". I was given a postcard type of marketing material and a pen. I do not think this property will meet the stimulation and memory care needs that my father needs.

My mothet is a resident at The Vines for two and a half years. She is well cared for by everyone there. She participates in the many activites, and enjoys the beautiful grounds and garden. Each resident is treated with kindness and dignity. My siblings and I are very pleased with the care Mom recieves at The Vines.

The Vines is the most caring & loving home away from home that will keep your loved one safe & secure. The staff is attentive & have a genuine caring attitude towards all their residents. Since it is owed & managed by RN's, the overall management is 100% better than any other place I've seen.
