My mom is a resident of Barb City Manor. It is truly independent senior living, but you could have private care come in to assist. Hospice comes in there to assist as well. They offer three meals a day. They offer light housekeeping and changing your bed once a week. My mom still does her own laundry, but they would assist with that if she wanted. It's a great place to socialize. They have a great room with a big screen TV and lots of couches and chairs. It is just a very homey and welcoming feeling there. The staff is wonderful. It is an older community though. They have bingo. They have music coming into the building, like different musicians or groups. They don't offer a shuttle bus to take them places. There is a city bus that will take them, but you have to pay to reserve the bus. They don't offer as much as the other place. COVID kind of changed things too, and they're just now getting back into large group activities because COVID is still out there. They have been limiting some of their social gatherings because of that. However, they're very reasonably priced.

first impression nursing home feel front desk staff a little snippy dining room staff helpful & accommodating food average not much variety rooms are average ,tiny bathroom , no kitchen, community refrigerator & microwave located in laundry room no prep area even if you might want a cup of tea or evening snack $2000+ a month a little high for what you get few activities poor turnout residents seem to spend a lot of time isolated in their rooms only one handicap parking spot for visitors really like the resale shop

Your needs would be well taken care of at Barb City Manor Retirement Home. They provide three meals a day and come around in the evening to check on you. It was a nice, clean place. The staff was very wonderful. They welcomed me with open arms and told me all I needed to know. They seemed like very caring people. Their dining room is very nice. They have movie nights, bingo, and various games and crafts.

My Mother has lived here for over two years. She has had a great time interacting with the staff members and making friends among the residents. The food is good (I think she has even gained weight here!) and I am able to communicate with the staff members on any matter I need to.

Barb City Manor is clean and a good location for us. There's ample parking. The rooms are nice, you can have a studio apartment or just a bedroom and you don't do any cooking so you go downstairs to eat. The staff is very knowledgeable, helpful and good. They also have social activities.
