We have found Cedarhurst of Bethalto for my mom. I like the residents. They seem to be very nice, pleasant, and happy, which was one thing I was looking for. They have a lot of activities and stuff. My mom hasn't done that for a long time, and now she's joining in, so that's another thing I like. I like that their meals are on a regular schedule. She wasn't eating regularly then, and now she's getting three meals a day. I just like the people there. Their staff are very friendly, very caring, and very professional but friendly. They have activities from morning until night, and they're all voluntary. They were coloring, but my mom didn't want to color, so they gave her a manicure. Yesterday, they were doing an activity and she was painting, and I'm like, 'My God, my mom has never painted in her life. Bless her heart!' They're good at it, and they have plenty of different types of activities. I like that, too.

I am very pleased with Cedarhurst. My mom moved in after having hip replacement surgery. The staff has been wonderful. Mom loves doing the many activities they offer. She seems to stay busy every day. She is also getting three meals a day and she loves the food. I haven't seen my mom this happy in a long time. Thank you to the staff for making mom feel right at home.

This facility is very short staffed and it shows. The resident assistant and nurses are very good, but just overwhelmed and over worked. Some days in the afternoon there is only one resident assistant for the entire memory care side. Nurses work 14 hour shifts and cover the assisted living side and the memory care side. Residents rooms are filthy, esp the bathrooms. I am not sure cleaning a bathroom for someone in memory care is enough. I would not recommend this facility.

Cedarhurst of Bethalto was great. I was seriously considering that one. But it's a considerably more distance away from where we live and for me to get back and forth to visit. We liked it. It was a lot bigger than the other facility. I was very impressed with it. The staff was very helpful. Everything was great. The patients were all doing good. I would recommend it. They had about everything that they needed there. They had a nice little lake in the back, and you could fish out at the pavilion if you wanted to. They had good outdoor facilities.

What I liked best about Cedarhurst of Bethalto was the programming they have for the memory care unit in terms of what they do for the residents. What I liked least was that the marketing person that we met with was filling in so she didn't have all the answers. For the ones that mattered, she certainly did her best and we got what we needed so that was very minor. I didn't find something I didn't like. The employees seemed very engaged with the residents that were in the dining area. They were also just upbeat and happy. I saw a courtyard and a salon but I did not see a gym.

My mother is moving into Cedarhurst of Bethalto. It's a lovely place. Everything's so pretty. It's close to my home. The staff has been pretty good. The room is very pretty. I think it will be wonderful. She'll be in assisted living, and she'll have to get some therapy as well because she had a fall. I haven't had a chance to tour it yet. We just met in the gathering area. I know they have a lot of activities. My mom's friend has been there about a year going on two years now. We have just a hiccup with one form. It was kind of a miscommunication as to who fills it out and who has to sign it. Otherwise, everything else was fine. I've only interacted with the staff I spoke with and the maintenance guy briefly; they were good.

I love Cedarhurst of Bethalto. It's newer than the other place we saw, but they did not have a room that opened up into the common areas. My mom would have to go down a hall, make a left and go down; with her memory issues, I didn't think that would be appropriate. The facility was beautiful. I really didn't have any interaction with the staff. I just saw one person. She was very good. She gave us all kinds of information and followed up with me. They did what they could to try to get my mother into a different room. They just didn't have availability at that time. It's a beautiful facility with nice furnishings. They had a piano they use and a happy hour for their guests. It was very clean. It is almost in the country. They had a lake and a dock, and you could fish. You can get to restaurants within a couple of miles; right there by the facility there really wasn't anything.

My visit to Cedarhurst of Bethalto was really good. The room is very nice, the staff was really nice and very informative. I like the layout, you could see out in the courtyard and everything, it's very nice. The cleanliness and upkeep are excellent. The staff is awesome. It seems like they really do care about taking care of whoever goes in there. We took the tour; it was a very homey place. It's the closest one to where we are.

We moved my boyfriends mom here after she was diagnosed with early Alzheimer’s and we couldn’t be happier. The stuff that works with her are beyond amazing. They go above and beyond our expectations.

We moved Mom into Cedarhurst of Bethalto immediately after it opened. We toured a few other facilities, including Cedarhurst of Jacksonville Illinois (since Bethalto is exactly like Jacksonville, and Bethalto wasn't completed yet)....we were very impressed, and are still very happy with the decision we made. The facility is clean, well kept, the staff is wonderful and the Food and activities are top notch.

Mom has lived there for two years, she always says she couldn't be any place any nicer. She loves all the caregivers and they love her, we couldn't ask for more. We have been very happy with her care. I think she enjoys most of the activities she does, she especially loves anything to do with music or flowers.

I’m a former resident of Cedarhurst of Bethalto following my surgery. The facility was like being at home, but not needing to cook, or do housekeeping. Those amenities are included in the room charges. This allowed me to be focused on my rehabilitation and allowed me to be more social. The apartment that I had was a 2 bedroom, two bath, with a full kitchen, and a small room. The facility has a 20+ seat movie theater where weekly movies are shown. I used the theater to watch sporting events, such as NASCAR, MLB, and NHL games. The location has weekly musical entertainment in their Four Seasons Room. This large room has a baby grand player piano, fireplace, and a kitchen with a full size refrigerator/freezer, stove/range, and sink. This are can be reserved for private extended family gatherings. The staff were very courteous and helpful with me.

I brought my father up from Louisiana to live close to me, he is in the early stage of dementia, his 1 bedroom apartment is absolutely beautiful, the facility is absolutely beautiful, love the activities they do with the residents, the food could be a little better and they must understand some don't have teeth and to take that into consideration, the staff goes above and beyond to make sure my dad is safe, happy and participates in activities, I would highly recommend this facility

My parents were living at Bethalto Cedar Hurst until recently when my father passed and we decided to transfer my mother. The management is clearly poorly ran, the food was always cold, and most of the employees we're grouchy and always seemed to busy to address questions or concerns. Once they let our personal favorite caregiver go we knew this place was no longer for us. My father did enjoy some of the activities before things got to bad but all in all I would NEVER recommend putting a loved one here!

I visited Cedarhurst. The place was beautiful and brand new, but they only allow one pet. It's five minutes from my house.
