My husband was at Chardonnay Assisted Living for about a year. He was in assisted living. They were very, very nice and quite thorough. The people out there seemed to care so much so I was very impressed. They have two houses of people. The one my husband was in had 13 people, but it was not full. I think there were about 12 or 11 other people there when he was there. His room's upkeep was very good. I ate there once and the food was okay. The dining area had two tables and they sat 4 or 5 people around them. Some of the people ate in their rooms but my husband ate at the dining table. My husband didn't participate in them but I think they had crafts and such for them to do. They had puzzles too and those kinds of things. It was expensive but all of them are.

Chardonnay Assisted Living wasn't bad, but it wasn't as inviting as the other place we visited. The lady who led our tour was nice and answered any questions that we had. One of the main things that I did not like about it is that if a resident's financial situation changes and they have to go on Medicaid, they move them to a new room. It's a much smaller room, and that can be very disorientating for somebody, especially those who need memory care. It was clean and more homey than hospital-like.

Chardonnay Assisted Living is new. The people are friendly and helpful. The food is good. There are not a lot of people there. It's a smaller home with less than 30 residents. My mom has a single room that has a mini-kitchen and its own bathroom, but no shower. You can also get a larger suite, which has two rooms, with more of a front room setting, a bedroom setting, and a private shower. The activities are pretty much standard for all rest homes. There are visiting groups that perform or do sing alongs, or they have bingo and other group functions that you can participate in. The home itself is right next to a park, which gives it a nice view and there are patios or raised decks where you can go out and view the area and get some outside air. I feel that they're slightly understaffed, but they do conform to regulations. They could use more people.
