We put my mom in a place called Syringa Place. They provide very good care. They're very friendly and very energizing. They have help that always have a smile on their faces. They have lots of activities every day that they can either participate in or not. They're very thorough for the community. They take them on field trips. They have a big screen TV where they do movies, an arts and crafts room, a dining room, a gym, and a very nice courtyard. The rooms are in a square around the courtyard. They also have a patio. It is big and it has a door on each side of it, but it is enclosed. Inside, they have replaced the carpet, walling, and the pictures on the wall in the rooms. The hallways are larger than two wheelchairs next to each other, so there are lots of spaces.

Avista Twin Falls was a beautiful place. Everything in there was nice. It was more expensive, but it was just a wonderful facility. They had an exercise area. They had somebody there to do the women's hair. It was just basically a full-service place to live. You didn't need to go out and go anywhere if you didn't want to. The staff did a wonderful job with the tour. They had everything there. They had special TV areas and reading areas.

Syringa Place was nice and homey. We felt like it was a small group of people and that it would be an intimate setting where they would know everyone. I met the tour guide, the maintenance person, and nurse staff, and they were all nice. It's just their prices end up being higher and not as nice. It's older, but they're starting to remodel some of it.

I've toured Syringa Place in Twin Falls, and it was not as clean as the other ones I've seen. It also seemed to be smaller and more closed in. It's the assisted living part that I saw. I only interacted with two of the staff, and one of them just seemed to be too busy to be communicative or personable. We also saw evidence of spiders and spider webs; not a lot, but they have those. There was a courtyard and a salon. It was pleasant enough, and I think comfortable enough.

I think Syringa Place has been recently refurbished. It's a slightly older facility, but it was pretty nice and very clean. The manager was very nice too. It was kind of interesting because she was an older lady, as opposed to the rest of the facilities where they were relatively young people. I don't know if that makes any difference at all, but I just noticed that.
