Regency at Hualalai was very impressive, clean, and modern. It was very good. It looked like an upscale place. The staff who gave the tour was excellent. She did a good job. The dining area looked okay to me. There's a swimming pool and a nice exercise area. For people who could get around using a wheelchair or a wheelchair, that would be a good place. The only problem I have is that it's too pricey for me.

If I need a senior place, I lean towards going to Regency at Hualalai. It is the only upscale place. They have both independent and assisted living. It is good and I like it. It is pretty comprehensive. The only thing they do not have is the inhouse health center skilled nursing place. They have mind care as well as assisted living and independent living. It is a 5-star place. It is the best place in the Big Island. The staff members are OK.

The Regency at Hualalai was okay, but it looked like a hotel. It's relatively clean and neat and it didn't smell too bad. However, I'm not looking for hotel-like accommodations. I'm looking for something with a bungalow that's kind of off the ground. They had a swimming pool, recreation room, weight room, barber shop, a nice lounge area, exercise areas, and things of that nature. The food was OK. The staff was very friendly and courteous.

Regency at Hualalai has different levels of care. I have been there two or three times to visit and to talk to the staff. It is top of the line. The rooms are beautiful. It is really like a hotel. The way it is set up and the decor of the place is like a hotel. What I like about it is that on the outside of the rooms, you have the ability to sort of decorate your front door or your front entry in your style with your name on your door. It seems like it is a little bit more personal than some of the other places that I have seen, as far as making it your own. Their dining room is terrific.
