My brother has moved into Thrive at Skidaway. The facility itself is wonderful, brand new, and it's right across the street from everything you could possibly need or want. It's got a pharmacy, a hair salon, nail salon, grocery, gas station, travel agency, and a care business. If you need extra help with anything, they've got CNAs and RNs that will help you. There's a library and everything, so that's a big plus. Just before my brother moved in, they lost their chef, and my brother says that the meals have been pretty bad. The staff is personable and ready to help in any way, except getting a new chef, but supposedly it is imminent that the good chef is coming back; I hope it's temporary. Hopefully that will be remedied.

My father is in memory care at Thrive in Savannah. The community is nice, but my dad has dementia so regardless of where he is, he's not having a very good time. The service is not too good. He hasn't shaved in like two weeks, so the staff does not pay attention to grooming, and his dress is always in disarray. He's wearing sweaters backward. So far, my experience is not that great. The facility is very clean and it's very new and very coastal, so the design is great. And I'm sure independent living and assisted living is nice, but I'm just not so sure about memory care at the moment. The food is always good. My dad is not very picky when it comes to food; he'll eat anything.

Thrive on Skidaway was excellent. It's the nicest one I've seen. The staff was very responsive and attentive. Their two-bedroom apartments had a nice kitchen, nice living area, and nice sized bathrooms. The dining area was clean and the whole place feels like a nice five-star hotel more than it does as an assisted living or apartment. It looks great. They have a coffee bar, a hair salon, an exercise room, physical therapy, occupational therapy area, lobby area, card room, game room, pool tables, pickleball courts, and Bocce ball courts.

The Thrive at Skidaway was nice. I got to do the tour of the community and they gave me their brochure. They had independent living, assisted living and memory care and I did a quick tour of all of them. It's very nice because it's new too. I don't have any complaints about it.

My mom is currently in Thrive at Skidaway. It's been pretty good, just a few communication glitches. It's been fine, but I'm not overly enthusiastic about it. The workers are nice. It's fine, I would say it's average. My mom's room is great, her accommodations are nice. It's clean and it's a new facility, so it's very nice. The food is great; it's a lot of variety, and she has all the food she can handle. All meals all day and snacks. If she doesn't feel like eating in the dining room, they bring it to her in her room. The staff overall has been very good, like the day-to-day staff, the people that work in the dining room, the arts and crafts director. It's the people in charge of her care scheduling. Getting a reimbursement with the business people; it's been a challenge trying to get her long-term care, health insurance, and I coordinated everything with them. So that's been a very big frustration.

We toured Thrive at Skidaway. It's brand new. It's not even completely full yet, but I felt that the memory care rooms were smaller than the other places we looked at. It's fantastic and spic and span clean from top to bottom. There were playing some cards in the memory care. They only had two clients at the time we toured, but they were at a table. There was a director with them doing activities. The staff is very knowledgeable.

We took a tour of Thrive at Skidaway for my dad, and I like the facility. The convenience of it being close to us was very nice. It's only about a mile and a half from my house. It's recently been renovated, and there's nothing that I saw there that I thought needed renovation or updating. It's all new, and it's recently been redone. It's very clean, and it has all the facilities that he needs, including workouts and access to physical therapy. It has an actual coffee shop within the facility, and as I said, it is very close to where we're going to be living. All the communications that I've had with them to work through the arrangements to have him there have all exceeded my expectations. The staff was all very nice, very accommodating, and very friendly. The other thing that I really like about it is that you can start in independent living, and if you develop additional needs, then you can seamlessly transition to assisted living, and then from there even into memory care. They provide all of those different options as your family member might require them. I did not have a meal there, but I did look at the menus. It looked as if some of it may have come from a fine-dining establishment. It was a very impressive menu.
