We like Coastal Assisted Living. We like the staff. They're a little slow at getting some things done, but they're sweet and caring. My mother loves it. It's very clean and very nice. She has gotten good care so far. It feels like home and it's very spacious. They only have 24 residents. It's a huge house and it has a big, open kitchen. It doesn't make the people feel like they're in a facility. They take care of the major things like her blood pressure and they have a good nursing staff. She is very happy with the food. They do a lot of things there.

About Coastal Senior Living in Saint Marys, Georgia
Our personal care home consists of homes of 24 beds. We are smaller and more intimate than large congregate settings yet larger than the family model homes. These “mid-size” homes allow the best of both worlds. We are larger and, therefore, more handicapped accessible. We have more staff and more activity than in smaller settings. However, we are still small enough to be non-institutional in character having the feel of a “home” away from home. Residents genuinely become like family and most resident families participate fully in the life at the homes.
Senior living services include the following:
- Assistance with personal care home or host home placement appropriate to the needs and location of the individual.
- 24-hour supervision and management.
- Assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Nutritious meals and snacks served daily.
- Assistance with medication management.
- Health monitored by a registered nurse.
- Housekeeping and laundry services.

Coastal Senior Living was good and was in the process of changing directors when we went up there. The staff was fine. There were not many amenities, and it's rather small, but friendly. They had private rooms with shared baths, and private rooms with a bath. My mother thought everybody was nice and fine.

I haven't been that thrilled with the services that my mother has gotten at Coastal Senior Living. Half the time she can't eat because it's not good or food is not cooked all the way. I've been trying to get them to fix the vent in her room since she got there, and they have yet to fix it. Her room is 65 degrees or colder. The only thing I've ever seen them do is play bingo twice a week. It's $2,500 a month, which is a little high for what you don't get. I was expecting her to get more services and more help.

I have a friend in this Facility and go to see her often. She is well taken care of and treated as a person not someone who cannot do for herself. The staff is excellent and caring and they help as needed. I highly recommend this Facility if your loved one can still do for themself but needs that extra touch.
