Overall, The Garden Plaza was very nice. It was clean. The person who showed us around was very accommodating. She was in charge of intake and showed us the different styles and layouts of the different plans they had. She was very nice. She gave us a lot of information. The facility does a lot for the people that reside there. One thing I do like about it is they have a priest come every now and again. I guess the preist comes weekly to do mass for the residents there. They also are accommodating in terms of taking the residents out for weekly grocery runs. If they need to go to medical facilities, they take them there. They also have bingo night. They have a pageant for the residents there. They have all kinds of daily activities for the people there. They keep the residents busy, and it was very clean. What I did not like is it looked like it was going to be a certain amount; however, we read further into the paperwork. Turns out that if you have an additional resident living with you, it is an extra $700 fee. So it went over our budget, and that's why we didn't choose this place. We liked this place a lot. When you walk in the one bedroom, it has a little foyer with the closet. If you go left, then immediately you walk into the living space. You have a balcony and one living area. You can opt without the balcony. Inside the living area you have a little kitchenette and the kitchen. This was the one bedroom. To the side, you have like a little tiny alcove or a hallway. You have your bedroom. It has two windows, and it has the closet. You have access to the bathroom through the little alcove, but it's not adjoined to the bedroom.

My Mother and I opted to become residents in what seemed to be an absolutely beautiful independent living 55+ called Garden Plaza in Lawrenceville, GA. It looks like a five star resort hotel with all of "the perks", boasting of three chef prepared "gourmet" restaurant style meals daily, but has turned out to be less than adequate on so many levels. Seeing this place is a wow factor, but living here is such a huge disappointment. The kitchen runs out of food before everyone is fed and portions served are child like. If you are still hungry there isn't an option for seconds without paying for an entire meal out of pocket. Three wonderful chefs have resigned because they refused to treat residents this way. I was recently served a hamburger that was burned to a crisp with cheese, lettuce and onions! We are currently looking for other independent living arrangements where the amenities are worth the money being spent every month!

When I visited Garden Plaza, I was escorted by the Sales Director there, her name's Cady. We had already a schedule of arrangements for tours, and we talked about my mother's condition. When you come into it looks like a luxury like five-star or seven-star hotel or. It's very accessible because when you walk in there, doors open up; these are electronic French doors. We have a lot of space for parking; it was easy to find one, and easy just to kind of walk in and go. There are different levels of sitting in there. Everyone was very accommodating, and all the staff is friendly. I was noticed because I was doing some videotaping of the space, and I felt like they were very aware of their environment, which is good. You don't want people not being aware of who's around there; they're very attentive and very friendly. It has a country home feel to it, and it feels like you are walking into a wooded cabin area, a country home in some ways. It's very warm and inviting. They have cafes in there, and they have an indoor saltwater pool, and they have a lot of more physical activities. They have an ice cream parlor for them. They have a restaurant-style menu, and you can change it. They do have a lot of meal options in the facility. They have a café, the ice cream parlor thing, and then they have a sit-down dining room. They have a library, croquet, billiards, an indoor saltwater pool, and a jacuzzi. They have a lunchtime buddy system; they would come in and assign someone to sit with them during lunch for a few weeks; that way they're not sitting by themselves without knowing the community or anything

We had an in-depth tour at Garden Plaza. It's really beautiful. It's contemporarily elegant in the decor and the furnishings. They have a dining room and accommodations. They have lots of amenities there. It has a hotel-like atmosphere, and they have everything you could ask for. We're going there tomorrow for lunch, so I'd know what the food is like. In terms of the location, I like the area. The dining area was very nice, very clean, and nicely furnished. Iit's not cheap.

I would not put anyone here and I am leaving. Food is terrible. They several times did not deliver my food until i called to remind them. It was as late as 3 pm In arriving. The air quality is terrible. Humidity was at 70 - 80% sometimes. My joints got worse and aches all the time. Some of the staff are downright mean. I hated the time I was there. You will be sorry if you go to The Mansions at Alpharetta. It was so boring if you were not a card player or bingo for money player. It was either freezing cold or blazing hot in the common areas. It is worse than living in a third world country. Noisy too ! Slamming doors, barking dogs, blaring tv, everyone talking very loud. Rooms had bad heat/cool systems and paper thin walls. Skip this awful place.

Garden Plaza at Lawrenceville was very nice. I know people there who are very happy. They have nice service and dining room. Their manager and director came out to see us, and everyone I met was very nice and very capable.

I was impressed with Garden Plaza. It has been remodeled and looked really nice. It looked like they had good facilities and had just about everything there. The facility was newer, and they had an activities director.

Garden Plaza at Lawrenceville was very nice, very new, very pretty, and very clean, but it was very expensive. It started at $3,500 for only two meals a day and no cable or Internet. On top of that, it would've been another $100 a month just for the cable and Internet.

Everything is good about Garden Plaza except its location. It's near a college, which is not the drawback, but it is on 316, a heavily travelled road. Garden Plaza is perfectly beautiful with a beautifully decorated interior. They had wonderful food and waitresses that would take orders and bring residents the food. There was a room on each floor with a washer-dryer and folding tables for residents to use. It was a little pricey, but the staff was helpful. My friend who lives there has to check out if she is going to be gone overnight; otherwise, if she doesn't come back, they call her daughter.

My Mother is a resident here. It is beautifully designed with gorgeous interior courtyards, giant sculptural fountains, great landscaping. The interior is immaculate, dining deserves top rating. Daily breakfast and three course dinner. Bus goes to dr apts and some shopping. Activities could include more "outings" that some residents would find appealing, such as theater or more lunches out at restaurants. Residents are friendly.

My parents are now in Garden Plaza. It is a very clean, homey, and very nice facility. Everybody is friendly. The food is good, and they are comfortable there. They have a lot of activities, and they always have something to do. If they want to be involved, they can, and if they don't, they don't have to. They have bingo, card games, exercise, tours, and crafts. The people are very nice.

The best one I visited was Garden Plaza. One of my major problems was that I couldn't stand on my feet for a long period of time, and they had an indoor pool. They were more reasonable despite of the fact that they had a full load of amenities and the food was delicious. They were less expensive than a lot of the others who didn't have the amenities

We visited Garden Plaza at Lawrenceville, and the staff were all very gracious, kind, and very confident. The rooms were nice, adequate, and clean. We walked through the dining room, and it looked clean and nice. They have breakfast and evening meals; they do not have a noon meal. They have a swimming pool, and they have an exercise area. The security, I didn't feel threatened or ill at ease.

Garden Plaza was beautiful. I actually went in and talked and met to some of the residents. They had little apartment with a bathroom. They had one bedroom and a sitting area. It was really nice, and they kept it really clean. I saw a waiting room, and I thought they had like a game room and stuff like that. It seemed nice. Some of apartments around it were day care, and then there's a college closed to it. The staff was very nice.

Garden Plaza was nice, close by and the people there were nice. The grounds were well-kept and clean. The reception area was good. The atmosphere was bright and cheery. The residents looked happy there. There was a library and a bus which took them to Walmart and doctor’s appointments.

Garden Plaza was my second choice. The lady in charge was extremely friendly, she took me around to all the apartments and she showed me all the activity rooms and the activities that they had. They had ping-pong, movies and a room set up for card games. They sent us a bulletin every month about the activities even though we're not there. They have lovely lounges scattered throughout. They had a walk in pool and garden areas where you could go and sit down in the garden and walk through with your walker. They had a nice dining room and rooms where you could have your family in for a birthday party. They have assisted living across the street from independent living.

I think Garden Plaza was fantastic; however, I just can't afford it, it was too high for me. The staff was fantastic. The place was fantastic. It was very nice. I wish I could afford it. They have assisted living, they have "a little bit of assisting", and then they have "no assisting." They have three stages. I certainly would recommend this place. In fact, they also would invite you there even if you don't live in their facility. They would invite you to some of their gatherings that they have. They would let you play the piano, they would let you dance, and they would let you participate with their residents.
