As a RN, deeply entrenched in the community, I personally chose Delmar Gardens of Gwinnett for my father. I knew the company policy was love, care and understanding, which is exactly what I wanted for my father and what he needed. He has a lovely apartment in the assisted living/ memory care community. The staff were attentive and encouraging and there was good communication. They went above and beyond to make him feel welcome ( after the death of his wife and a move from NC) during the pandemic. He was eventually moved the Nursing Facility after a health issue and losing the ability to walk. I cannot thank them enough for the love, care and understanding they provided right up to the very end. They also showed compassion to me as I spent the last 6 weeks of his life sitting by his side. I saw the quality of care they provided. Arrangements were made for him to be Moved into a single room so we could stay with him til the very end. I am so thankful for Delmar honoring that very precious time together with him. The kindness and compassion were outstanding. Our father passed peacefully on June 10th, with us by his side. I am forever grateful for the Administration, the entire staff, their philosophy and the personal attention shown to our father in the last year of his life. I know they did an excellent job and rest assured knowing I made the right decision for him at Delmar Gardens of Gwinnett. Michele McMahon

We had an in-person tour of Delmar Gardens of Gwinnett. The interaction with the staff was very good. The facilities were very impressive. We saw a number of the living facilities. We saw the dining room. We had dinner there, and it was very good. They had a chef on duty. The rooms were extremely small.

Delmar Gardens of Gwinnett was absolutely wonderful. I'd move there myself. The price was good. I was very pleased with it. My friend could move into the other levels as he needed them. Everything's on the same ground. I was very impressed. They just remodeled the entire place in 2015. It looks like a resort. There's an indoor pool, an outdoor pool, an exercise room, and a beauty salon, and there were tablecloths on the dining tables. It was great. Most of their staff has worked there over 20 years, and that says a lot.

My tour at Delmar Gardens of Gwinnett was very good. It's very nice and I would enjoy living there, but I can't afford it. The staff who gave me the tour were very friendly. It was very clean and neat, and everything was well put together. They have a courtyard and they also had a salon.

We chose Delmar Gardens of Gwinnett for mom. It was beautiful, it was bright and light, and it also had the option of a nursing home in case my mother needs that instead of assisted living. The studio apartment was lovely with a little patio on it and a screened-in porch. I just went on a tour, so I don't know too much about the staff, but everybody seemed friendly. The only one I met was the marketing person.

My mother moved into the Independant area of Delmar in 2011. From her arrival through early November 2019 I rarely visited her LESS than 3 times a week. Nothing in Assisted was available and 5 months later when an Assisted apartment became available she moved into it. In January of 2018 she moved into the nursing center. She passed away in Nov. 2019. In my opinion, and based on what I hear and read, about too many Assisted and Long Term Care facilities, Delmar is a superior facility. That is not to say there were not times where I was disappointed. Their routines and procedures were consistently done. Never felt there was neglect, but oversights on that could be annoying certainly occurred. Jennifer, the Executive Director is very dedicated and her leadership creates a caring and attentive culture. Marcia, in the Nursing Center is as also outstanding. Understand (?) she will likely become the Nursing Home Administrator, and that, IMO, will enhance the culture in that area of the facility. While all areas offer the same menu offering the meals in the Independent facility are better than the Independent and certainly the Nursing area. I think they could be more effective with meals in the independent area, by having the department head spend 2-3 meal parts (Brk., Lu., Din.) each week visiting tables, learning some names asking for feedback and responding to it. Further, some of the leadership people at the facility (Kelly, head nurse, Nicky, Cheryl) occasionally join in on those rounds to get a broader perspective. It is a difficult environment to work in, and for those of us that have loved ones in both physical and mental decline it is not by any means an easy time.

Delmar Gardens of Gwinnett offers assisted living, nursing home and hospice which is all in the same place. The community is good, it seemed like a nice, clean, safe and cost-effective place. The biggest problem is that my dad can't go there because they didn't have any open beds yet. The room I saw was clean but I couldn't call it homey because of the hospital beds. The person who assisted me during the tour was very friendly.

We have friends at Delmar Gardens of Gwinnett, and I would move there in a heartbeat. They're lovely. They have redone the place and redecorated. It's beautiful and very inviting. We can't see us moving into a one-bedroom; it would be like living in a hotel room. It's a wonderful place. We have a friend in memory care. They've added that since they renovated. It's top notch. You could choose your meal plan. For two meals, it's another $400. That didn't fit us. We liked the two-bedroom, but it was on the top floor and I would hold out for a first floor. They are pet friendly. Over the last 15 years, I've gone to visit some of my friends and taken them to their doctors' appointments and grocery shopping. I've been in and out, so they know my face. I would highly recommend them. I've never been disappointed with any treatment. It's institutional cooking, but you could have a nice salad bar, order a sandwich, or whatever if they serve something you can't have. They supply a menu for the week so the residents can decide if they want to go to lunch that day or they want to stay home. I've been impressed with the staff. The lady who did the interview was trying to be helpful. However, when we found out that the two-bedroom cpst over $4,000, we can't handle that, and we decided to back off because the one-bedroom doesn't meet our needs. For anybody that can afford it, go for it. I haven't heard any complaints about the staff or from anybody over there for a long time. Everything about Delmar is top rated.

Delmar Gardens was shady, comfortable, and had big rooms and home feeling. They had a big skylight in the recreation area and nice dining facilities. The staff was very friendly and easy to talk to. They have daily trips to the stores and doctors' if they need to go. They take them on outings to scenic places. They have painting activities and arts and crafts.

Delmar Gardens was OK. The rooms were very nice, and the dining room was set up like a restaurant. They had bingo and visitors coming in. The atmosphere was OK, clean, and looked nice. They need to improve on the help.

Delmar Gardens of Gwinnett is a good place overall. I like the fact that the residents seem to be very active. They were doing puzzles, card games, and other things.

My mother and sister like Delmar Gardens. I think what they like the best is the food. There are a lot of activities there, but I don't think they participate. They have a 2-bedroom apartment so they each have their own bedroom, and then in between is the living area. They have a kitchen, but I think Delmar prepares all the meals, so they don't really use it.

I've visited Delmar Gardens of Gwinnett and it's a very nice and clean facility. There were people walking around and very active. The staff was very nice. I remember when I went there, they had a young man that was kind of dressed up like Elvis. They had an afternoon gathering where they have ice cream.

My parents lived in another facility that did not have a nursing home section. As my father was going down hill both physically and mentally, we knew a nursing home would soon be needed. We moved them to Delmar Gardens for that reason. What a fantastic decision that was. Delmar Gardens is far better than the last facility - better food, nicer facility, better staff, better responsiveness when a button was pushed (that is really important!). And to make it even better, it was slightly less expensive. I would be quite happy there if the need required it.

My Mom has been living at Delmar Gardens for 2-1/2 years. She started in Independent Living and moved to Assisted Living after fracturing her back. She had to move to Delmar so that my Dad could reside in the Nursing Home. Though my Mom has been very negative about this move the staff has never let her attitude get in the way of always being pleasant and caring towards her. They understand how difficult these moves can be and really work to engage new (and old) residents in the community. It is ALWAYS clean and there is always an activity going on when I walk through the community. I feel good knowing that my Mom will be well cared for and that there is a top notch nursing home within her community to care for her should she need it.

I got my parents a two-bedroom apartment at Delmar Gardens at Gwinnett, and it is spacious, bright, and clean. They have a maid service that comes in every Tuesday. They offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but my parents opted for a lunch, and they actually have pretty good meals. The staff are very friendly and I have no complaints with them. They have lots of activities all day long, everything from bingo to bridge to singing groups coming in. The facility is bright and clean. It has no smell to it or anything. I am just really pleased with this facility. I would definitely recommend this facility.

This home was amazing to me. The food was better than most and all the people were very caring of course. Even the other elders with me were very friendly to me. I was well appreciated and enjoyed my stay. It was really worth it and enjoyable. Also the kids who would visit made it worth while as well and it made me not want them to leave. My husband passing away made things hard but this place took the stress off that and i loved it.

I thought Delmar Gardens runs a very well-kept facility. They always were very pleasant and accommodating with their patients and guests regardless the hour of the day or who is working that shift. My grandmother is a rather angry woman at times, and she is definitely not the easiest person to work with; however, whenever we needed assistance with getting certain dietary needs switched around for the care and recovery of my loved one, they were always more than willing to help aid us in making sure that those orders were followed through to the tee. During her stay, they helped my heavily obese relative lose over 50 pounds while working with one of their on-site doctors and trainers. I think one of my favorite parts about the entire experience was how they incorporated real-life situations into the exercises they had my grandmother doing. This included the use of a Wii, which my grandma loved to do. I feel like they really encouraged and succeeded in bringing a healthier lifestyle into the picture.

My mom has been staying in this facility for about 6 weeks now. The main reason we chose the place was because they have assisted living, independent living, and nursing home care all in one facility, which was the most important thing I was looking for. The people and staff were responsive, compassionate, and caring. The facilities and amenities were really great and they provide flexible meals plans that really work for my mom.

My father was a resident here before I decided to move him closer to me. This place was well rounded and very professional. Whenever i came to visit I notice there were always activities going on. One time I came by and there was an egg hunt for Easter. Thanksgiving holidays were also nice they would celebrate by having a fall festival and serve a nice dinner for the seniors.
