My dad is at The Landings of Gainesville. The staff is phenomenal, friendly, professional, and caring. They sit with him and laugh with him if he's not having a good day. They call regularly if we need updates or things like that. Really, they call about anything and have kept us up to date on everything, and I love that everything is documented. They also do a lot of the calls to the doctors themselves so that we don't always have to do the call. They do have some choice in the menus. His lunch meal could be from a sandwich and chips to green beans and potato salad. It has changed its management, and I think that it's helped because this staff is just phenomenal. It's still kind of in the rebuilding or remodeling stages because they are still doing some of the rooms and things like that, but there's nothing that is distracting to the residents. It's like they are working in a room with the room closed, so you don't even know they're in there. Some of the rooms have already been remodeled and they're awesome. What they're trying to do is take out some of the flooring that isn't beneficial to older people. When it comes to the price, it is affordable, and they work with you on it. They do offer some activities, but they're in between activities directors right now trying to find a new person, because the previous one passed away.

We have my mother-in-law at The Landings of Gainesville. She's very happy, and everything's great. It's an outstanding facility. She's been there for some time, and we're just happy with them. She's in memory care. The individuals that care for her are very caring, they're very attentive, and it's just a happy place. They're an outstanding organization. They have made improvements over the last year, and it is a cheery place. It's very convenient for us. The staff is outstanding. She doesn't participate in activities because she's not able to, but they have a sitting room, a TV, a game area, a beauty shop, a nice dining room, and a courtyard that they can go out into.

They were prepared for me to be at Oxford Place and very gracious. They gave me the tour and had me talk to some of the residents. The residents were engaged in two different activities when I visited. There was a game room, an activities room, and a really nice outdoor space. Everything was very clean, the rooms were updated, and the staff was very accommodating, not just to me but to other people who were visiting just like me. I was the most impressed with the staff. They all seemed to be very concerned, very friendly, and very capable. All the of residents appeared to be quite happy.

i am the conservator of my second cousin in law (who is a resident), my husband and my sister in law are her guardians per court order. we are now looking at other facilities to place her. she is 92 years old and has dementia. when we visit we have to ask for toilet paper, light bulbs, there is no communication between the staff and families. we just found out today 1/11/16 that they evacuated building last tuesday (1/5/16) due to water sprinkler break or bust, but this family was never notified.. but we have visited since then and have just found out. company has changed directors 3 times since July. we wish we had done more research. facility and employees make a good appearance.

We liked Oxton Place. It was more economical, but my dad liked another place. They were very neat and clean, very accommodating on the tour, and explained everything. We liked them a lot. It was really nice, open, and welcoming. The staff was very nice, and the people we saw seemed to be pretty happy.

My parents have moved into Oxton Place. It is very clean and very personable. The food is fair; my parents complain about it. There are a lot of issues going on, but I found out recently that they changed hands and have been under an in-house director since we have been there. I’m hoping that once they have a regular director, things will settle down. All my father does is watch TV now. They told me that they have the specific channels available that he used to watch, but they don’t have them. When we moved in, they didn’t even have the list of channels. We've had some problems there; however, everyone is really nice and really trying to take care of my parents well. My parents are getting bathed when they need to be bathed, they’re being toiletted, and they’re being encouraged to go to group activities. I went to go see three facilities, and Oxton Place is the least amount of money of the three. Oxton Place is not as fancy, but it is a little more homey than the others. They do have fun things to do, but it is not as pricey or ritzy as the others. That's what drew me to this place. It wasn’t just the amount of money; it felt a little bit more relaxed and a little more homey than the others.
