I'm in Brickmont of John's Creek assisted living and what I like least about it is that their food is terrible. What I like best is that everybody's very nice and very gracious. I just don't need this level of care anymore. I also have the opportunity to go to independent living, which is closer to my family, the grandchildren, and a place that is larger and offers more activities. They're new and they're growing. I came here in a wheelchair and I'm walking out with a walker so I progressed well here. They need to improve on consistency and I think it's in the caregivers. They're frequently new and they're having trouble finding help but that's everywhere. Nobody can find employees. With food, we went many times when everything had onions in it. We've gone through a lot of spices too. The dining room's layout also makes it cold when you're in there. It's like every soup looks the same and it has the same base with just different spices or some have peppers and onions. It's hard for people to eat that. We have activities, just not enough. The activities director and what she does with us is great but only one person can only do so much. They have a salon and a courtyard. They have an activity area they call a theater and it's just chairs and tables, and we rearrange things based on what we're doing.

I was visiting the community for my grandmother. What I liked about the community is the open dining that leads out to the court yard and the group of residents sitting out enjoying the weather. The beauty salon was open and there was an array of residents waiting their turn. The activity room had a singer performing and the room was pretty full. You can see staff walking in out of resident's room checking on those residents that did not come. The staff was very friendly, speaking and make us feel welcome. My grandmother really liked the community.

My father is in Brickmont of Johns Creek. I like the location. It is a brand new facility, and the price was right. Everybody is very accessible and very kind. They seem to be doing really well so far. The staff is helpful, friendly and professional. His room is good sized and clean. They could work on their tidiness a little bit. I wish that they come in and clean the room more often. I asked and told them they needed to clean it, and they came in and did that. It was not a problem. He is OK with the food, but it could be a little bit better. They do not cook with salt because a lot of people have salt restrictions. The atmosphere is light, airy, friendly, professional, and attentive. Because of Covid, it is harder to get workers in there. I think that is a national problem. The activity director is very involved with the residents. She has bingo and exercises. She is always checking on the residents and always makes sure that my father in the dining room is taken care of. My father really likes her a lot. The director herself, Jennifer, has an open door policy. They take questions from the residents or if they want to voice any concern they have for them. They had a meeting weeks ago about residents with suggestions. They did a resident cookbook, so they really keep them involved. They have a huge dining room that just opened and airy and cute courtsides on either yard.
