I went to look at Antebellum James Burgess. The staff was nice, and that was the best thing I liked. The rooms were kind of small. The facility was nice and homey, but kind of dark. I thought they needed a little more lighting to brighten it up. They had a beauty salon and a little patio in the back with rocking chairs where you could sit out with people. They had a nice fireplace, too, and a big den.

I toured Antebellum James Burgess, and it seemed to be a very nice community. However, I just don't think it's what I was looking for for my husband. I think they required everyone to come to dinner, and my husband's bedridden and he doesn't sit, and can't get in a wheelchair without help. The only staff I met was the lady that showed me around. She gave me all the information. She was very knowledgeable, and I got along great with her. She did everything she could to give me all the information that I asked for. The rooms were fine and were very good rooms. They were nice. I had to furnish it, like I had to bring his bed and whatever else I wanted. He wanted all his familiar stuff, and that was big/plenty. It had a bathroom attached with it, a closet that would fit everything that he needed there, and a walk-in shower. I would hope someone would be able to get him in a walk-in shower. I'm looking for somewhere for him because I can't do a lot of things that need to be done. They had a posting of the lunch menu and after breakfast they post lunch, and then I think they post the dinner menu, too. I saw the dining area and it was very nice. I saw the salon where he could get a haircut, and that was nice as well. It was nice to have all those amenities there. I just don't think it was for him because I just think he needs more hands on than what they had there. But she told me that they had therapy there, and that he would get therapy, which I want him to continue to get. The upkeep was really nice. The outside was landscaped very nicely. It looked well taken care of.

I like Antebellum. It was very nice. It had assisted living and dementia care. It seemed like they might mix the dementia part with assisted folks once in a while, like for ice cream socials. It's really pretty. The rooms have their own shower stall per room, so that was neat. The front entrance was very impressive. The building was clean, and the units seem to have their own facilities. It was very impressive. It seems like the staff was pretty nice, too.

Antebellum James Burgess was cold. We didn’t even look at the rooms because they were doubling people up. The location was farther away. I didn’t like the lobby. You walk in to this huge room, and it was dark and I didn’t like it. I didn’t like the outside grounds either; it was more like an institution. I didn’t like the atmosphere. I only talked to the person that was going to give us the tour, and she was OK but I wasn’t wild about her.

My mom is in Antebellum James Burgess. It is excellent, clean, bright, and roomy. The staff is adequate, well-trained, prompt, and took care of all the residents in memory care. It's a new building. The grounds are nice, well-kept, and comfortable. They have dining rooms where family can eat with residents.

Antebellum was really nice with very nice caring staff. I thought it was a very clean looking facility. It had a lot of activities which was nice. It looked like a really good place. I was pretty pleased with that. They a reading room or like a library. They had band came in so they had live entertainment. They had a full dining room which was like a restaurant with tablecloths and everything. The lady I spoke with was extremely informative. She even gave me extra resources to work with and people to contact. They had doctors that came in. They provided transportation to doctor's appointments.

We visited Antebellum James Burgess. It was very good but too big. It was beautiful but cold feeling, so we didn’t care for it too much even though it was new and pretty. We really didn’t like this community. The girl we met with was nice enough. The halls were long and wide and didn’t have a homey atmosphere about it. The apartments were OK. They’re just like they all are with room for the bed, an area where you put stuff, a little kitchen in some of them, and a bathroom. But frankly, I don’t know how my mother would have made it down those halls. It just wasn’t for us. It was a beautiful community, but we just didn’t like it. We couldn’t afford it.

Antebellum James Burgess was a very good place. The room was not bad, and they provided you with everything, but the price was high. They had a library, an exercise room, and a card game room. They didn't have a swimming pool. The dining area was clean, and the staff was OK. They were mostly helping the residents while I was there.
