My mother is currently at Brookside Commerce. They are very attentive to her, very patient, and understanding. They communicate well. They provide a lot to keep them occupied. They are inviting and clean, which is very important. They do a good job of doing the laundry, which I appreciate very much. They make her bed every day for her. When she needs assistance, they assist her. They are very quick to respond if she has to push her button. They communicate well with me. They keep me posted on everything that transpires with her. She gets her medication like she's supposed to get. They keep good records. If she gets in one of her moods and decides not to take her medication, they communicate that to me as well. They are very kind. They do a good job with their menu. It has variety. They offer some options if you don't like what's available. You can get a salad. They post it for the week, and they post it for the day on the table. There is plenty of communication about what the meals are. Every time I saw the food and been there when she was eating, it looked appetizing. They did win Best Jackson Senior living for two years in a row from the Jackson Herald, so I think that's pretty good.

At Brookdale Commerce, the staff was very friendly and outgoing. Any question I had was answered clearly and completely. They also showed me anything I asked to have shown to me. I thought the room was set up very well. It was spacious, clean, and roomy. I wasn’t there when they were doing any social activities, but they had a calendar posted with a lot of social activities posted. Their dining area was set up very well, too, in tables of four, so there’s room for folks to sit together and socialize. The thing that I liked best about it was that they had put each of the resident’s names on their doors; I thought that was very thoughtful for the residents. Overall, I had an excellent experience with them.

Brookdale seemed nice, and the rooms seemed spacious and clean. The bathroom was set up well. Bingo was going on when we went. The staff seemed caring and nice.

My wife stayed at Brookdale for two-and-a-half months. The people that were don’t know how to take care of her. She fell. The experience was not too good. One of the staff haraased my wife all the time. And I say, she does not know anything about what she is being paid to do.

At Emeritus at Peachtree Village, the staff was not very attentive to the people. I tried to talk to them, but they were too busy to try. I came in late on a Saturday, and they didn't have anybody there to kind of watch over what was going on. I didn't stay long and didn't bother to even talk to them. Also, some of their facilities were set up for assisted living and also for people with mental conditions, but it was just like you were going to live in a hospital. It just didn't feel like a home. It makes you feel like you want to run away as quickly as possible. Also, it kind of smelled like a hospital. It made me back off really quick. It just wasn't pleasant.

We found Emeritus. They moved in in mid-February, and they're moving out first of June. They tried to keep going up on their rent that they were setting. The whole time we've been there, the staff has been changed twice. The whole staff, the maids, everybody has been changed. When we first got there, the staff that they had was wonderful, and then by mid-March, their whole staff was gone. That's why we really picked them because they were loving, warm, and caring, and then as they left, their attitudes and their warmth left with them. What they say to get you in there and what they follow through with are totally different. They told me they had different activities throughout the weekend, but most of them just never happened. They're supposed to have kick ball and bingo. They're supposed to go to Wal-Mart one day a week, and most of that never happened. They won't come out and clean the place once a week. They were supposed to take my dad to and from the doctor within a 25 mile radius, and then they didn't do that. They didn't do half the stuff they said they were going to do. The cottages and the inside are very nice. The food at first was really great. Their meals are just skimpy now. There's barely enough to even to feed him. They only get like half a sandwich because there wasn't enough food for him to have a whole sandwich at nighttime for supper. It got bad. They ran out of food and stuff. It's a very big disappointment to me because they just weren't upfront at the beginning.

My mother stayed at Emeritus at Peachtree Village for a time. The place was not as bright and cheerful as the facility where she transferred to. She did not really require a caregiver and the food was terrible.

My mother-in-law went to Peachtree Village and she got sick. The food was terrible. She was not happy there. The place was dark but clean and the people were friendly. There wasn't a lot to do over there, just a few activities and she's in her room all the time.

I found Peachtree Village to be an amazing assisted living home. My grandmother was always taken care of and the employees were genuinely nice. I noticed many employees staying overtime to help other patients and doing everything in their power to keep every patient happy. Everything was very clean as well and surprisingly the food was very good. Each patients daily schedule was very organized and carried out with the consent of the patient. Overall it was just an amazing facility and I am glad my grandmother was in such great hands. I recommend the Peachtree Village to anyone seeking assisted living.

They had very nice staff, they have apts with 2 bedrooms in case family needs to come and stay over night. The residents gets 3 restaurant style meals daily. They also have housekeeping to help out the residents clean their place. They also have month-to-month rent so you don't have buy in fees which makes it a lot nicer and the utilities are included. Even though the apts are nothing extra special I think the way the staff are all smiling and so are the residents is more than reassuring. We are worried about someone missing treating my grandmother and we want to watch out for her safety like she has us for all these years. So making sure she is safe and happy is our #1 priority. Peach Tree is also located to hospitals and her Dr. office which makes it nice for us. We are seriously considering Peach Tree as the assisted living place she would be best suited for.
