My mother was in Magnolia Place for four months. The memory unit smelled horribly, even the EMS that came in to take her to the hospital noticed how bad the smell was. When I took her there, they promised me that no matter what happens to her, no matter what her condition, she would never have to leave. When I informed them I was putting in a security camera about a month and a half in, the girls didn't like the fact that the camera was in there because I was catching them not doing their job, and the way they were treating her.

My father has Alzheimer’s, and Magnolia Place has a memory care unit. It is very homey and family-oriented. The staff is wonderful and very helpful, and they give their residents a lot of individualized care. The rooms are very clean, very well kept, and very homey. They are carpeted and nice, very comfy and roomy so they can get around. He uses a walker, so the rooms are fine. They are nicely decorated and have a little kitchenette with a refrigerator, and a good-sized bathroom and shower room. He loves his food and looks forward to his meals. The pricing is very reasonable. It's very quiet, and that is why I chose it; he does better in quiet places. It is a really calm environment, which is what he needs.
