Ivy Hall Assisted Living was on the small side, and it was really about half empty. The staff told me there were only three or four men there, so I don't think it gonna be an appropriate place for my dad. They showed me a room, and it was nice. There was nothing wrong with the room. I only met one person, and she has only been there a year. She was kinda blah to be honest. The manager of the place was not there that day, so I did not meet her. I saw a bunch of residents sitting around watching TV in the lobby. There was no exercise room. They had a physical therapist, and there was a small physical therapy type room. I did not see anybody interacting with any residents. The facility was OK. They had a flat rate per room depending on the size of the room and everything. If the care needs increased, the price level did not go up. I saw bingo going on.

This facility was one of the two we narrowed it down to for my grandfather. The staff was friendly and helpful. The units were a good size with very big walk-in closets. This facility has a grand entry room and exceptional outdoor area out back. Some units even have balconies. The cost for this community was very competitive. The only reason we didn’t decide on this facility was that it was farther away from my home. There was also some concern about not enough parking available when someone visits. We would recommend Ivy Hall.

My boyfriend’s mother is in Ivy Hall. Everybody have been very friendly and very helpful. We have a few problems, but they work with us and things get resolved. The room that his mom has is nice. She has a balcony. She has not been able to be very active, but they have a couple of activities. They have volunteers that bring dogs in a couple of days a week to visit the patients, a little theater for movies, and an ice cream parlor. I know that she goes on group walks and is having physical therapy while she is there. The place is attractive. The grounds are pretty. However, I do not know if it is normal for assisted living, but it does have that old person smell to it in the common areas. Maybe that’s the way they all are. They have an emergency call button in several places of the room, and I think that is great, too. They even have one that they give the people to wear on their necks. So, they always have something.
