My dad stayed at Sunrise of Johns Creek. They take excellent care of their residents. The condition of the facility was wonderful. My dad was there for memory care, and they did everything for him. My dad was at the point where he could do nothing for himself, so they bathed him. They just took such superb care of him. I can't even begin to describe their services, love, and care.

I toured Sunrise of Johns Creek. The atmosphere was nice. Everyone was friendly. It was OK. Everybody was nice and pleasant. The place was clean. They were thorough with the information that they provided. What I liked best about it is that you had options for the rooms. The patio was nice.

We like Sunrise of Johns Creek. The people there were very nice and very accommodating. The information they gave was very good. It felt like something that would meet our needs whenever we got to that point. Even though it was old, it was very clean, and it was laid out very well. It seemed to have everything that we think that my wife's needs would be at the time when she gets ready for it. The apartments were very nice. They have several different combinations of just a room or a room with a family room. They have a variety of combinations. The staff who toured us around was very knowledgeable and very helpful. He was able to answer any questions we had to our satisfaction. One of the things that we liked to, they also had memory care.

My mother is over at Sunrise of Johns Creek right now. We've been happy with the service there, but lately, they've stopped the bus, and there have been some other issues. She likes where she's at, but unless they get the bus back and some of the amenities that they had had when she moved in, we're going to probably move her. They've had some storm issues that they've taken care of. The facility itself is very nice. The rooms are nice. They have a very good staff, but they've been very short staffed recently. We've been very happy with what she's had there. It's just since COVID, things have changed. They haven't had a regular bus service, so the residents can't go out. They're not being taken to their doctors' appointments. They're not being taken to go out to eat like they used to. It hasn't come back since COVID, and they tell us they have a problem with getting drivers. They might have someone, and then after a couple of weeks they don't have the bus service. My sisters got to take her to her doctors' appointments and stuff. The activities aren't as great as what they used to be. They were really good. It's just since COVID they seemed to have had some issues. They do bingo. They've got games. They've got a lot of different groups that come in and perform. They have movies. They don't have as many activities as what they used to have. The food is good. She hasn't had a problem with the food. When she first moved in they had a different chef, but they've got a good chef and she's liked the food, although she does say that they overcook the broccoli. On the whole, she's happy with the food. They have some workout rooms, but she's not allowed to use them unless she's got a therapist with her. The staff has been very good, but they've changed the staff so much. I know when my father was there there was someone that was just so good with him, and he was pretty much bedridden. Up until recently we've been happy to pay the exorbitant fee, but now things that they used to offer aren't being offered. When I'm looking at these other places they're in the same price range.

Sunrise of Johns Creek is not a newer facility, but it was clean. The rooms were nice and spacious. She showed me two different types of rooms. I don't have anything negative to say about them. The young lady was very personable. The young lady at the sunrise stated, okay, well, we're going to perform our own evaluation, or if the notes are sufficient, we'll go from there. So they ended up going by the notes and they stated that the amount of care that my cousin will need is more extensive than what they're able to provide. And she called me verbally to give me this information. The room was bright and spacious. They have tiered type care. That was good as well.

My mother has been living at Sunrise of Johns Creek memory care (3rd floor) for a year and a half and absolutely loves it. We could not be more pleased with the level of care she's received and how happy/well adjusted she is in her environment. Most of the staff has been there many years, and they promote from within, which speaks volumes. We feel like the staff is family. They take such phenomenal care of the residents, our most cherished loved ones. There are multiple daily activities, outings, terrific meal choices, beautiful terraces, places to walk, lovely gathering rooms, physical therapy/exercise room and amazing dining areas. The living quarters are incredible as well. We are most grateful for Sunrise of Johns Creek!!!

I toured Sunrise of Johns Creek and looked at their memory care, and it was OK, but it just wasn't a fit for my dad. When we went through the facility, we saw all the rooms and everything, and they were somewhere a little bit smaller, but the atmosphere was OK. The staff was good and we didn't have any issues with anything. They also had activities for them to do and everything seemed clean and well taken care of. It didn't have any smell or odor. They were all pleasant, very helpful, and answered all our questions.

I went to Sunrise of Johns Creek, and they were way too much money. The rooms were smaller than the other place we saw. It's an older facility, but the staff was very nice. I just felt like the pricing was way too high, but my dad was saying you get a lot more "bang for your buck" down here in Georgia than you do in New York. The dining area was very small, but due to COVID, I didn't tour it as much as the other place. We really couldn't go to where the other people were due to the COVID rules. We were just in the sales office and then looked at one of the rooms, which had a bathroom, a closet, a bedroom, and a little sitting area. It looked like a Victorian building. There's very limited parking for visitors. We only saw the hair salon, a room, and part of the dining room, which was small.

Sunrise of Johns Creek was OK. I am familiar with Sunrise because my mother was in a different Sunrise facility some years ago. They have a different pricing structure. The other place had a flat rate per room, and if the care needs increased, the price level did not go up. It does go up at Sunrise. Because of Covid, the staff did not show me around. I did not see any rooms or anything. I just talked to the woman there, and she was very pleasant and upbeat. I hardly saw anything. They had very limited parking, which was another issue. I did not see any sitting area or courtyard. It was very well maintained and clean. The decor was very nice. I certainly did not interact with any employees or even see any residents. I was in the lobby. Then I went into a conference room or a dining room and that is where we talked. The place was like 12 years old, so it's pretty new and very attractive. Their Covid restrictions are very tight at the Sunrise facility.

The staff at Sunrise of Johns Creek was accommodating, but they became a little bit more sales oriented. They made comments about the other location how they might be better for my situation and they didn't know my mom yet. I didn't feel like they could make that judgment yet, and it slightly made me question their genuineness. They're a fine facility, but they're right on Medlock Bridge Road and there's minimal separation between this facility and that big road, so there's less neighborhood feel to it. It's clean, very nice, medium sized, and it felt homey.

My parents have moved to memory care at Sunrise of Johns Creek. I love everything about it except for the price for medicine management, which is very expensive. The staff is great and I love them. The food is average. They have bingo and I take them out to lunch once a week. They should get more competitive on their pricing for medication management.

Sunrise was nice and had a very expensive-looking entry way, but the parking was horrendous. The dining area was not at all impressive, and the staff was so-so. When you drive up and walk in, it was very impressive, but we were not impressed with the layout, the setup, or the staff. In the dining area, the tables were very plain without tablecloths or decorations, and the setup was very cold looking.

My mother has been at Sunrise of Johns Creek since August, 2015. She has been on The Terrace Club floor since her arrival. My sister and i have been very pleased with the overall care she has received. My mom has severe memory loss and many other medical issues and the staff has Sunrise has worked with us every step of the way. The clinical and medical care she receives is excellent.

My Mom has improved greatly since moving to this facility in November 2016. Her ability to walk is much better and her general well-being has been uplifted.

Our father was struggling in a terrible nursing facility, our mother was home struggling with the beginnings of dementia. Sunrise at Johns Creek took them both in and gave them both a reason to live. Over time our father became bedridden and he was cared for with great detail for all his needs. Our mother has continued to grow physically and mentally since her arrival. She attends exercise classes, enjoys her fellow residents and participates in the many activities that Sunrise at Johns Creek provides. We live in another state so when we return home we are able to have peace of mind that our loved ones are being cared for. Our father has since passed on and our mother continues to get quality care at Sunrise at Johns Creek with regulation of her medications and monitoring of her level of dementia. We are blessed to have our loved ones cared for by such loving, high quality professionals.

Since the day I toured the community I knew it was the right place for Mom. There was a warm friendly feel from the moment I walked in. Mom has been a resident now for close to a year. It is such a kind, caring, compassionate community. Her care is taylored to her changing needs (which is not always easy). Mom has come out of her shell since she moved in and is very engaged in day to day activities. It gives me comfort to know that the staff cares so much. As difficult a decision as it was to move my Mom, I have never regretted it. Thank you Sunrise!

Actually, I put my father in a different senior-living community, and he failed because he needed memory care. So within a week in Sunrise of John’s Creek, I had to move him. It was terrible, and I don’t want to say that, but for my father’s needs, unless you’re a person who’s 100 percent able to take care of yourself, it’s a dump. Their responses to my issues were terrible. They told me to hire a private-duty nurse to take care of him 24/7, and I was already putting out so much of my pocket that we would have gone into a hole very quickly. And they didn’t take any responsibility for their mistake in placement. They made us pay all of our fees. They were very rude and very mean. If the residents are going to be fully functional with no memory loss, it’s fine, because they had great activities. But if they had any memory-loss issues at all, they do not need to go there, because it’s all about making money, and that’s my bottom-line statement about it.

My mom has been on the memory floor for about a year. The facility is always clean and bright, the staff is attentive to the residents and welcoming to family members, meals are nutritious and varied, apartments are large enough for furnishings and memorabilia to assist with care. Patience and kindness, which mayter most to my mother right now, are abundant among all staff members. Best of all, knowing my mom is in Sunrise allows me to sleep at night!

What I like the most about Sunrise was the location for me to be able to visit to my mother. Everybody I talked with was very professional, and I got a tour of the place. I was impressed; I didn’t see anything that was negative. The rooms were pretty standard, and it was what I expected. The dining setup was great and very pleasant, and the menu looked good. They have get togethers, music, bingo, movies, and a bus that could take them shopping. I asked about security, and the door is not locked but I think it’s secure because there is somebody there. But they do not have much green space or outdoors.

I visited Sunrise. The staff was very helpful in assisting me and my mom. The rooms were very nice. It had windows, a bathroom, and a kitchen. Their dining room was set-up cafeteria style. They had too many activities to mention. The care impressed me the most.

We sat down and talked to the administrative person of the Sunrise of Johns Creek, and she took me through the building. She showed us the one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments. They were both nice, and I like them. I also like their friendliness. They have activities, but I have not witnessed any. I did see an area where people congregate, and there were some playing cards. The only downside that I saw was that the facilities up here seemed to be so much nicer.

I took a quick look at Sunrise of Johns Creek, and that is a pretty good facility. It's expensive, but of good quality. I did not know about their activities, but all in all, I feel good about the facility.

Sunrise of Johns Creek was fine; nothing special stood out. The staff was accommodating, but I really didn't see much of them. The rooms and the dining room seemed small compared to some of the others that I have visited. I liked their location. It was not my favorite place among the others I've visited, but it wasn't bad.

My mother is placed at Sunrise. The facility is very close to the hospital. My first impression of the place was that it was very upscale. The facility is four-story tall and everything is a notch above what we have looked at. They even have a concierge at the desk The working staff members are there all the time. Whenever I visited my mother there, usually either one or two of them would stop by and stick their head in the door and say, "Hello, how's your mom doing?" They are very cooperative and they seem to be taking very good care of her. With regards to activities, my mother plays dominoes. She also loves to play bingo. They have something for their residents quite often daily. For accommodations, my mother is in a joint suite. She has a roommate that is a really nice lady and they kind of look after each other. They are companions now, so that's nice for mother. They have a common entry area and a completely separate living area. At this facility, food is excellent and the dining room is well manned.

Upon arriving at Sunrise Senior living the outside enviorment was neat and well kept. Had flowers and trees complete with a walking path around the entire facility and sitting, rest areas so residents could get plenty of sun. upon entering the facility the staff was kind and courteous and always with a friendly smile. Many of the staff was very knowledgable of the facility and seemed genuine in how much they care for the seniors living at the center. Many of the senior citizens i voluntereed my time with were bright and happy a reflection of the care they recieved while at the center. The Seniors recieved great care in every area mental, physical, and in spirit. the Sunshine assisted liing center was one of the best kept well cared for living centers i have had the oppurtunity to volunterr for!

My sister and I moved our parents into the Sunrise of Johns Creek, after they couldn't live alone any more. Our experience here was mixed.POSITIVES: It is a safe place. The rooms are mostly cheery with windows and walk-in showers. Meals are regular. There are supervised activities (bingo), TV sets, afternoon snacks. The grounds around are pleasant. Downstairs there is a closed facility for more severe dementia cases.NEGATIVES: This facility is part of a for-profit corporation with a publicly traded stock (symbol SRZ), whose price has suffered since March-April 2011. This means that they will always keep labor cost low and charge you an arm and a leg: there is not only an increase every year, but you will get charged for EVERY little thing, including taking dinner to the room, giving meds, etc. Not all caregivers are dedicated professionals, several have been known to take short-cuts. Some are rude, only a few are truly good. Clothes and small valuables have disappeared off and on. You rarely find proactive care here: it's too time-consuming and expensive. For instance: They'll proudly show you their hi-tech bathing facility, usable also when you're in a wheelchair. But once you're a resident, nobody offers this facility to you. It's more or less a show-piece. The food is terribly bland: lots of mashed potatoes, gravy, overcooked vegetables. There is a salad bar, or you can get a sandwich. No ethnic, interesting food, no real concern for organic ingredients, bran, gluten-free, or other special need.Consider this facility only if money is no object or there is no alternative (as with us, who live elsewhere and have to travel a lot). A month for a resident who needs some, but no extreme, care, will cost you $6,000 to $7,000 or more. Don't forget: This is not a hospital, even if a doctor checks in off and on. For real medical care, you still have to go to a hospital. And, again: This is a commercial enterprise, and like all of those, it is out to make money off the residents' families.
