This review is for the purposes of helping anyone considering Coral Bay for Long Term Care. My mother was admitted in December, 2019, so most of her experience has been during the Covid-19 pandemic. Needless to say, in the beginning I was terrified of leaving her in what was classified as a hotspot for the elderly. But I had no choice. So for the longest time, there was no personal connection with my mother, other than a weekly Facetime which I greatly appreciated. A few months ago, they welcomed visits, but under very strict guidelines, which I appreciated if they were to continue to maintain the level of safety the residents required. So now, in March 2021, I can confidently say that I am so grateful and impressed with how they have managed to keep the residents safe and the facility from becoming a notoriously failed system like the one's we have heard of around the country. This is the true test of a nursing home, how well they manage things during a serious pandemic. I can't thank them enough. Are there other areas that can be improved? Yes. But in terms of priority, pandemic safety comes first and they got that right. Thanks to all the staff who have cared for my mother and the top tier of staffing who did their job as well. I have also noticed that all the caregivers that I got to know before the pandemic are still working there, so there does seem to be consistency with staffing which is important at so many levels. Thank you Coral Bay.

The place is pretty terrible. The food is horrible. There was feces smeared on the bathroom wall on the first day she moved into an unoccupied room. A few weeks ago, her roomate later died at 1 am. They refused to move the body from the room and refused to temporarily relocate my mother. She had to lay in the same room with the dead roomate all night until morning or sit in her wheelchair for the remainder of the night is the hall way. Mother asked to be moved so a new bend or the body moved, they refused either request. I could go on and on about the failure to answer call buttons, their gross failure to feed people who need assistance in feeding. In fact, I had to feed the roomate myself, because she could not feed herself and the staff would just leave food on a tray. I could not watch her starve, but the staff didn't seem to notice or care.

This place is absolutely a disgrace. Words i write cannot sum up the disgusting experience i had with this place and my father. He passed away last August unfortunately alone due to Covid restrictions. His stay at this healthcare facility was an absolute nightmare. The care at Coral Bay is 100% 3rd world. Lack of experience, lack of knowledge, and lack of pay equals disaster. DO NOT LET YOUR LOVED ONE STAY AT CORAL BAY. The care was non existent and extremely unprofessional. The nurses just want to go home and do not care at all for the residents. They want their job as easy as possible and they do not care for the old people in their care. AVOID AT ALL COST!!!

So far so good . They can improve on there meals n nutrition. And laundry operation . Handicap doors to exit outdoors could be helpful . Newer furniture in rooms . Nursing staff good .
