My husband moved into Village on the Isle. We chose it because they have no COVID. They have private rooms and locked-down units, which are not considered memory care. Each unit area has a locked door. You can't get in and out unless you call an attendant. They have everything you can think of. They have PT and OT. They've got great nutritional meals. The rooms are very light, bright, and cheery. Each room is private. Each patient has their laundry done and their beds made. The staff goes out of their way to help them. The bathroom is handicapped-accessible. They also have shower chairs, commodes, and wheelchairs, which are all accessible to the patients. If the family members would like to take their loved ones out for an hour or two, they get a pass to take them out. So the patients are still able to get some fresh air and enjoy the world. They have plenty of activities.

I toured Village On The Isle. It was very good. They took their time explaining everything to us, and they showed us everything that we needed to see. It's a good experience. Everything was kept very upscale, clean, and neat. It was a good place. You can go to independent or assisted living, they also have a rehab center, and they have memory care if necessary. You can stay there for the rest of your life, no matter what happens to you. The staff who gave the tour was very professional and knowledgeable about their facility. They have a swimming pool, an exercise room, and meeting rooms.

I like that Village On The Isle is a buy-in retirement home, where you just go from one level to another level. If you ran out of money, they don't kick you out, which is a nice feature. The people there were very helpful. The food was excellent. It seemed like the residents were all happy. I didn't see anybody that was unhappy. A couple of people on my block have moved in that area, and they've all been satisfied with the place. I had lunch there twice. They have top chef. It's gourmet. They have the independent living, assisted living, and memory care. They're all within the same property, so it's easy to convert from one level to another level.

My mom is in Luke Haven, the skilled nursing facility of Village on the Isle. Everything is one-on-one. You have your own bathroom, and you have your own room. She has been in lockdown since she arrived because of COVID. She's in lockdown for fourteen days, so she hasn't been to the gym or the dining room, but they bring her food three times a day. She's been very happy with it so far. They're still coming in, exercising, and doing rehab, but it's all done in her room or in the hall. Everybody has been very good to her so far. I have had no complaints from her, and they communicate very well with me. They were very helpful in getting her in, too. The location is very nice. The surrounding area is very peaceful and very nice.

Village on the Isle is beautiful and very nice. The staff member who showed us around was very good and did a great job. They have many activities like bingo, cards, a swimming pool, gym, and exercises.

My mom was at Village on the Isle for rehab. It was a different feel because she had to share a room. Nevertheless, the staff was wonderful and went above and beyond for us. We had some things we're dealing, but they helped us out. The food was not as good as where she is now. Activities were a little bit different because my mom was doing more physical therapy. It was a different atmosphere but good as well. The physical therapy seemed good. The cost was covered by insurance.

My mom lives at Village on the Isle. The experience has been very positive and the care has been excellent. The staff and the leadership have been friendly to her, and I think she's getting the best care possible. The food is OK, and you can have as much as you want. They have activities everyday like drives, visits to the beach, lunch outings, musical activities where they bring in singers, games like Bingo, and dominoes. The price is competitive.

Since new management has taken over Village On The Isle has taken a real nose dive. Under old management it was wonderful and highly rated. They have no real concern for residents or staff. Both are treated horribly.

My dad has been a resident at Village on the Isle for a few years now. He was very happy there. Since the new CEO recently came on board, however, many changes have been made all at once. While the changes are not necessarily all bad, they have been jarring for residents. In addition, residents' views about these changes are generally dismissed, whereas they were addressed regularly by the former CEO. For example, new rules regarding reservations at the dining hall are very confusing to residents -- management doesn't seem to take into account that it can be difficult for older people to process change. Another disconcerting change is regarding complimentary meal coupons. The former policy was to provide residents with a certain number of meal coupons so that friends and relatives could join residents in the dining room. Instead of phasing out the meal coupons, reducing the number of coupons, or other options, management abruptly said that the meal coupons would no longer be provided. Residents did not participate in this decision, and it has many of them distressed. When I visit, I encounter residents, other than my dad, who openly complain while walking down the hallways - this in a place that used to be generally a happy place. People who used to love VOTI now say that it no longer feels like home. When my father moved there our rating of Village on the Isle was a five. With all this upheaval and the change in attitude by the new management, we rate it a two.

Village on the Isle had two independent living buildings. The original building was about 34 years old but they are remodeling it floor by floor. It had decent-sized apartments. The newer building had central heating. We had a very good lunch there. They had a chef and staff that served the tables. We met a number of residents who all seemed very happy. They're situated on 60 acres of land right in the heart of Venice. They had a small library and a bus that would take the residents to the theaters and shopping.

Village on the Isle is very nice. I have so many friends who are there, and I like it very much. First, the food is wonderful, and they have a little more of the kind of programs that interest me. I have only seen very small studio apartments, but they have very generous or very good-sized apartments. It is a very large place. The location is excellent. It is close to shopping, churches, and the beach, so that is a plus. It is older, but much upgraded, so nothing looked old or used. It is in excellent condition. You can go from independent all the way to nursing and memory care.

I especially liked Village on the Isle. Everything was just beautiful. The people were very courteous. It was a lovely place. They had just about everything you need, like a library and a gym. It was very nice. There's no swimming pool or anything like that. I had lunch there, and the food was very good and very pleasant. The employees were all very friendly and helpful. The place was very clean and very nice. I have been going to some of their very educational lectures. They also have a library, games, programs, and really take care of their people, so I think it's really nice.

Village on the Isle was very nice and well-maintained. The food was delicious and offered a wide selection. Everybody seemed to be adequate, friendly, and helpful. They have private apartments and people who can help you out if you need it. They had elevators. It was very neat and did not smell bad.

Village on the Isle had two buildings for independent living: a high rise with smaller rooms and a smaller, 4-story building with bigger rooms apart from the other facilities. You have to walk to get to the common rooms, like the exercise rooms, restaurant, and other activity rooms. It’s the location that appealed to us. It had little traffic, and it’s a nice place for walking and biking. The staff was very pleasant, asked just the right questions, and showed us around the facilities. They have a bus that will take you shopping, to doctors' visits, and trips to entertainment in nearby towns.

I like Village On the Isle, but it is huge. I have a friend there. It is very nice. It is just too big, so I wasn’t interested. It has different phases. I saw one room and it was fine. They’re nice but they’re older. I don’t like them that much because of that. The kitchenette was not an open floor plan.

The rooms were very nice. Village on the Isle was a much larger and more populated place. It seemed like a little city really, but it was very nice, and the staff that we met was extremely friendly and informative.

I have made arrangements to go to Village on the Isle. I know that it was bought by the Lutheran Church, and it is very well maintained. The apartments it has are reasonably priced, and it is a good enough size for a person. The staff was very helpful. They showed me around, and it is a great place.

I also went to the Village on the Isle. It was a very nice facility. My overall impression is that it looks great. It is just out of my price range for the assisted living facility. I could not afford it. For the nursing home, they only have 60 beds, and they take the first one that comes over from the ALF which is understandable. For that, my dad would have to go with Medicaid, and they only have a certain number of beds for Medicaid. It just wasn't able to work out. However, I would love to have gotten him in there. That was recommended to me from somebody whose mother was in there and had a wonderful experience. It looks like it was in talking to the director there. It just seem like they would really make it a nice experience. That's probably why it cost so much. I did go on a short tour, everything looked very clean, and everything is modern and updated. They had activities going on, and it just looked really nice.

Another facility that I visited is the Village on the Isle. This one is very expensive but very complete. It is a bigger facility with several buildings. It has everything that I like, but it is more expensive.

What was most impressive about Village on the Isle, it has been up very long, but they keep it up really well although you can tell a little age on it. The lady who accommodated us has been there for up to 10 or 15 years and she seems to just know everybody by their first name. She was really knowledgeable, and if you get in financial trouble they can help you through the VA or Medicaid.

My father is at Village on the Isle. He likes it. The room is good. It is not like an apartment -- it is just a room -- but I got him in an expanded one room and he likes it. He was used to a big apartment in the other facility so all the rooms were kind of small, but this one was expanded, so it was not bad. The nursing staff is very good.

We were at Village on the Isle. It's big; it has many buildings. Very nice facility. It has all the amenities that one would need. Memory care is in a special location, so there, you would have to move from apartment to apartment as your needs changed in addition to the fact that it's quite expensive. In that place, you also needed to dress for dinner, but my aunt is more casual. If you had the money and liked it, you'd love it there.

Village On The Isle was very nice. It had no smell or odor, and it was very clean. The socialization was very important; I had friends who lived there, and they told me the socialization had been very good. The food serving was quite adequate. It was tasty and not bland. The dining room was clean, efficient, and neat, and the service was good. My daughter and I were seated alone, and we were not seated with anybody else. There was no attempt to incorporate us to the community, but I know we were only guests. However, when my friends moved in there, when they had dinner, they were seated with different people all the time so they would meet different people. I'm Catholic, and one of things that didn't like was that the only service for the epiphany was very early in the morning.

Village on the Isle is a pleasant retirement and assisted living community. My grandparents lived in the same place for over 50 years and were reluctant to make the move into Village on the Isle. Once settled in, however, they have found a vibrant community and the assistance they need in their advanced age. They appreciate the meals and amenities available. They were able to hire outside nursing staff when my grandmother fell ill and needed extra care; they had no trouble coordinating this with the facility. When I went and visited Village on the Isle, I was impressed by quality of the food they prepare. Village on the Isle hires professional wait staff to serve the food, and the food itself is delicious. There are also activity buses that run from Village on the Isle to different points of interest. It's easy for my grandparents to remain well-groomed and engaged while getting the care they require. Overall, Village on the Isle is a great living community. It's not far from downtown Venice or from the beach, accommodates visitors well, and is a friendly and safe environment.

My visit here was everything I thought it would be, that is, for a resident care facility. I enjoyed my stay and the staff were extremely helpful and courteous throughout my visit. I came to dinner with my family friend who is a resident at village, and has been for two years now. Before dinner I was taken on a tour of the building she lived in and she explained to me all the different activities they offer. The recreation room, the library, and the dens were more than what I would expect in such a place. It honestly felt and looked like a high class hotel with modern designed interiors. The grounds were well kept and the gardening efforts should be applauded---various trees and flowers, and many fountains dotted the landscape. However, it rained that morning and I remember noticing how flooded the parking lot was and the walkway to my friends building. The pool itself was big and the area even had attractive lounge chairs and tables to enjoy after a relaxing swim. The dining room was very nice and the food was actually pretty good! The wait staff were also very attentive and kind, especially for high school-age young adults. My friend told me most of them attended the local high school. Overall, village was in fact a very nice place to visit and I could tell my friend really enjoyed living here. Her resident-friends were also very kind and told lots of stories, which were actually pretty entertaining! Village on the Isle looks and feels like a great place to retire and the staff were more than accommodating. I was glad to see my friend at a facility that I knew, after my visit, was a place that was not only safe, but like one, giant geriatric family.

My Mother is a resident there in the independent living area. She did a trial run for a month at several other facilities until she came here. Immediately, it was obvious she was home. The staff does treat you like family. The other residents are welcoming and friendly. Mom told me just the other day... "I'm never lonely here." Lots of activities available. Of course alot of things to do in the area. Venice is beautiful! I'm very happy Mom chose a continuing care community as I know she'll always be taken care of. As a relative I'm sure you also want the confidence that your loved one is happy and being cared for as well.
