I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I would not recommend Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center of Tampa. The place is dirty. I have to be on top of them for them to bathe my husband's grandfather. If I don't go over there to ask for them to bathe him, they don't even do it. The little things that they have that we press to call people for help, don't even work. We've met different people. There are people that are nice, other people are very rude. When you call them, they never answer the phone. The AC in his room doesn't even work. I have told them several times about it, but nothing has been done. The food is really good though.

I am/was a resident of this facility

The PT and OT staff was great and knew what they were doing. They were very caring with the residents. The CNA's were good mainly.. The NURSES need to go back to school and be trained. There was only one day in the two weeks I was there that I got all of my medication. Most days I would only get one or two. The food was always cold and repetitive. I love spinach but not four meals in a row of it. When I got to my room one of the sweet CNA's checked me in. I did not see a nurse until the next day. I did not have a call light or a way to turn on the above bed light. My daughter reported it the next day when she came to see me and they fixed it. I was very disappointed in the facility.

I'm at the Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center of Tampa. It's fair. Food is not appetizing, and some days I look at it and push it aside. The staff members are very good, very nice, and very friendly. However, overall, it just leaves a lot to be desired, and things are very confusing here. One person says one thing and somebody else says something different. Everything in the facility seems to be taken care of. A light bulb might be out here or there, but if anything is wrong and you report it, it's taken care of. It's not the most expensive, but it is not cheap. They need to improve with the communications with the residents.

My Mother needed to go to to a rehab facility during the Covid-19 pandemic. We were not able to visit any facilities to make sure we would place her in a safe, caring place. I spoke with Donna in admissions. Donna answered all of my questions and explained what the facility was doing to keep it's patients safe. I am a Nurse and I'm very particular about the care of my family. I am very happy with the care my Mother is receiving. She is doing well and getting stronger every day. My Mother feels safe and cared for at this facility. Donna and the staff assisted my Mom to her window so that we could wave to her from the outside and talk via her cellphone. 💜💜

The food is horrible. Your love one will die from not eating and they do not do anything about it. They bring trays to patients rooms and they do not feed patients that cannot feed themselves. The CNA's are horrible and leave there bedritten patients dirty. Stay away this is a horrible place. The RN are not experienced. They are experienced in gossiping. And there is so much racial tension among the staff members. Not a good place.

I visited this facility

I WANTED TO MESSAGE YOUR ADMINISTRATION ABOUT A FEW OF YOUR KEY EMPLOYEES THAT HAVE MADE MY STAY AT FLORIDA HOSPITAL TAMPA ON THE 6TH FLOOR REHAB CENTER BETTER THAN I COULD HAVE EVER HAVE IMAGINED AND FELT THAT THEY DESERVED SOME CREDIT FOR THEIR SERVICE . FIRST IS A MAN NAMED DRAGON WHO RUNS THE FOOD SERVICE.. HE HAS CONSISTENTLY PERSONALLY COME TO TAKE MY ORDER KNOWING THAT I HAD HAD SOME PROBLEMS EARLY ON WITH THE QUALITY OF THE FOOD I WAS EATING EARLY IN MY STAY AND WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND WHAT HE WAS REQUIRED TO DO, HE DESERVES A RAISE CERTAINLY. NEXT IS A NURSE NAMED MICHELLE MILLS WHO IS ON THE 6TH FLOOR REHAB SECTION AND SHE HAS BEEN A GOD SEND AND TOOK EXTRAORDINARY CARE OF MY SELF AND MY WIFE AS WELL AS MYSELF AND I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH ABOUT HOW IMPORTANT IT WAS WHAT SHE PERSONALLY. DID TO MAKE MY STAY AS GOOD AS POSSIBLE AND WHAT SHE DID FOR US TO MAKE OUR STAY AMAZING IN A TOUGH SITUATION. THERE IS ALSO A SUPERVISOR NAMED PAM ON THE 6TH FLOOR REHAB SECTION AND SHE IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING AND HANDLED 2 SEPARATE SITUATIONS THAT WE HAD WITH 2 TECHNICIANS WHO WE HAD A COUPLE OF MAJOR PROBLEMS WITH GREAT CARE AND MANAGED TO DEESCALATE BOTH SITUATIONS THAT WOULD HAVE TURNED INTO LEGAL ISSUES FOR YOUR HOSPITAL TO WHERE WE PERSONALLY RESOLVED BOTH ISSUES DUE TO HER ACTIONS. THERE ARE SEVERAL OTHER NAMES OF NURSES AND TECHS THAT I DON'T HAVE BUT DESERVE ALL THE CREDIT IN THE WORLD AND PAM IN PARTICULAR DESERVES A TON OF ACCOLADES FOR RESHAPING THIS ENTIRE DEPARTMENT TO WHAT IT WAS BEFORE TO WHAT IT IS NOW , WHICH IS A WELL OILED MACHINE. THIS DEPARTMENT ON THE 6TH FLOOR REHAB IS ONE OF THE BEST COLLECTIVE GROUP OF PEOPLE I HAVE EVER HAD THE PLEASURE OF DEALING WITH. I WOUD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS DEPATMENT FOR ANY AND ALL REHAB STAYS. THANK YOU.

I needed intense rehab and IV antibiotics. Rehab and healthcare of Tampa did a great job getting me back to where I was. Therapy pushed me and nurses took care of my needs. My room was very clean. They even had someone called a concierge visit me daily. I read other reviews but my family toured and didn't see any of these things that were mentioned. What a great improvement!!! If I ever need rehab, I will be back.

This facility is the best, the nurses on the second floor. Nurses are the best, they listen and really try to help us when we needed help.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My father had a stroke on 05/16/2016 which left him with left-sided deficits. While in residence at Florida Hospital Tampa my father was able to walk using a walker approximately 90 feet everyday. While in residence at Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center of Tampa my father has lost the ability to walk and is unable to move himself in and out of his wheelchair. While visiting my father we asked that he have a diaper change as he had been sitting in a dirty diaper since before our arrival. We waited an hour after asking the staff to change his diaper without any nurse showing up. After the hour had passed, I found a diaper myself and changed my father. This has happened on more than one occasion. My father has also gone below 18 BMI while staying there. After talking to the social services staff, Michelle, a few weeks ago this issue has yet to be resolved. We were told that his insurance had ceased his payments, but after contacting Cigna, we were told by them that the Rehabilitation Center had not filed for further care. We have been going in circles attempting to plan my father's future care.

My mom was in this place for a while i agree the nurses do not care. I had to go over heads several times over medicated wasnt cleaned properly bed sores had formulated and infected. Physical therapy were the only ones that really care about the people. Im going to keep them in prayer to have compassion for the people they care for. Consider another place for your love ones.

This is is the worst place ever I had my mom in this rehab in Havana that was suppose to help her and they did nothing at all she end up in the hospital again. Because they took no care of her she feel of her bed and was looking right at the nurse and they did nothing at all intill a nother nurse saw her And told them something and that the only way they did some thing I call and talk to Jessica one of the managers there and she ask me to give her a chance that she will tack care of it and she did nothing at all they just act like my mom was not even there at all. Never help her if you really love your love one DO NOT TACK THEM THERE AT ALL cause they don't care about your love one they care. About the money and making sure they don't loss that money at all STAYYY AWAY FROM THAT PLACE staff is very rude so be very careful.

This place was terrible. My mother had a stroke and was in this place for about a year. The nurses & staff were rude. They would not respond to the call light. There were times my mother would lay in dirty diapers for hours. Hardly anyone on the staff spoke English. The only decent people in there were the resperatory therapist and the physical therapist. For whatever reason they did away with the resperatory therapist. They also over medicate and prescribe medication not needed. My mother had never been diabetic and yet they put her on insulin. When we were finally able to get her home from there, we kept track of her sugar levels and found she never needed insulin. They also did not clean the feeding tube well. Mom ended up in the hospital several times with infections. She also had fungal infections under her toe nails because they did not clean her or trim her toe nails. When it was time to get her released to come home, they kept delaying working with us to make the preperations. It's obvious all this place cares about is how much money they can get and they cut corners in care.
