My wife is a resident of Ann's House Oakwood. My wife likes it. That's the reason she doesn't want to move to another facility. We don't like it, not because of the staff, although I have problems with the owners. She doesn't communicate very well with me. I call them every week or so just to make sure that she's okay and doesn't need anything. The place is too crowded. It's old furniture and very cheap looking. It's not a neat place. The living room where they watch TV is very small. I understand they had an inspector from the county because they had a man with the bars on the door and he sticks his arm out. It's almost like a zombie. It doesn't make a very good impression coming into the house and seeing this. The inspector made them take the bars down, but the man is still there. This is very unnerving for us. My son went to visit his mother for Thanksgiving. He said the food was very good for a typical Thanksgiving dinner. The nurse was very nice. For the value, I think it's right in comparison to the other places. It's also fenced in. Although my wife likes to walk around the property, which is not that big, she can not wonder because it's fenced in. It's a secure place, which is what she needs because of her memory problem.

What I liked best about Ann's House Oakwood, I suppose, was that it is fully fenced with a gate. You have to call in and get permission before they will even open the gate for you, but I didn't care for anything else about the place. The grounds weren't maintained. The residents could wander the grounds, but there were hazards on the grounds. The people there looked comfortable, but I was not impressed with the inside of the building. The lady I talked to was helpful and she showed me around, but she was only a staff member. She wasn't a nurse and they weren't prepared for me to visit. The kitchen was very well stocked. If we had a hurricane, a power outage, or something here in Florida, they had food stocked, and that would have gotten them through at least two weeks.

I saw Ann’s Oakwood and liked it. I talked to Ann, and when I need to leave my aunt for respite, she’s going to watch her. The people there seemed to be happy. She had a place for them to eat breakfast, and she does their meals. They have different residents who are all treated with respect.

My father was a resident at Oakwood for a year. I was very pleased with the care and how helpful Ann was with helping me through my father's Alzheimers. She took him in when no one else would. I needed a place I could trust since he was an hour and a half from me. He recentlly passed and Ann called to check on me. I would highly recommend this place for a loved one.

I have gone at meal times, and food looks and smells very good. The ALf is laways clean and the poeple also looked well taken care of.
