My husband was at Sarasota Memorial Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for rehab. He was there for 18 days. That was the first time he had ever been in a facility, so it reminded me more of a nursing home. The rooms were quite small in the rehab and there were two patients in a room. The upkeep seemed okay; I didn't see anything wrong with it. Regarding the staff, one night, my husband asked to be taken to the bathroom. At that time, he could still walk, but he was not able to get out of bed without assistance. And there were a couple of male nurses in the hallway, and they just told him to go back to bed. We addressed that with the lady at the facility and she assured me that that would not happen again.

I could not have asked for a better place for my Mom. EVERY MEMBER of the staff is caring and compassionate and understanding when a family member is overwhelmed.

Everything about Sarasota Memorial Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is excellent. They are very honest about everything. They do not act like they are trying to hide anything or act like they are afraid I will find out something that I should not. They are also very kind and helpful. They care about me and my husband. It is an older facility, but the grounds are beautiful. They have sidewalks where you can take your loved one out in a wheelchair. It is like a home. It is very warm. The rooms are not really big, but they are OK.

After having done all the research, Sarasota Memorial Nursing and Rehabilitation Center was the only one that I would put my parents in. It was our top number one choice, and we were so thrilled. It is a smaller facility. It feels more like a home in the way that it is set up. It is not so sterile and hospital like. The staff works together, and they are constantly communicating, so they are really a team. You can see how closely knit they are. It is a very person-centered care. It is in a beautiful setting, back away from all the noisy roads. It's a mature landscaped lot, and it's got gardens set up for the residents. They have several dining rooms, activity rooms, and they have some private rooms if you want them, but most of the rooms are set up for two people.

Sarasota Memorial Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is a five-star facility. My dad was there for three years and it was wonderful. The food was great. The physician and the psychiatrist that my dad had were excellent. There nursing care was outstanding. They have daily activities. They also have rehab.
