My mom is in Poet's Walk Sarasota. They have a lot of activities. They try to keep my mom engaged. She doesn't have to participate if she doesn't want to. The food is excellent. It is homemade food; it is not institutional food. It is very filling. It has a variety and different flavors. For people with memory issues, food is often their biggest treat of the day, and that's a big one. It's also very safe and it's in a good neighborhood. She's been there since COVID began, so probably three years. They have some sort of chair physical exercises.

Care Flowers
The Care Flowers philosophy in our Spring Cottage Memory Care Environment is a successful communication tool for care partners and family members. These designations help everyone have the best possible interactions with residents as they are in the present. It is an especially useful tool so family members can understand how to approach and interact when their loved one is acting in unfamiliar ways. The Care Flower system consciously avoids negative language or overtones throughout the residence.
Residents are identified as a rose, daisy, iris, violet, or morning glory based on their unique characteristics, preferences and abilities. This approach is centered on every individuals abilities, emotions and cognitive capacitiesnot their impairments or disease.

The Poet's Walk Sarasota is a wonderful community. It's something that I had wanted. I have looked at others before, but this is such a wonderful place and the people here are great. Courtney, the executive director is wonderful. Kris too, I think she's the relations person here. Those two are amazing people, especially Courtney. The staff here are good and they're very helpful. The food here is great, and the facility is nice, clean, and bright. They've got all kinds of activities for the residents every day, 7 days a week, and from morning to, I think, 7 p.m. with breaks in between them. I like that very much. I can't say more about this place because I've seen others and this has been the best. Two days ago they had a pumpkin carving show, and it was beautiful. The day before yesterday they had a circus. I think it's something to do with entertainment, which was great. They were doing a lot of performances in front of the residents and it was nice. They even had the whole place decorated so it feels like a circus and it's entertaining. This is supposed to be their pet week or something so a couple of times I saw them bringing in dogs. They go around and allow the residents to pet them and it's amazing. The activities they have here are great. They also engage the residents in little craftworks and play with maybe balls and balloons and things like that. My husband is in their memory care and I've been here a couple of days to visit and to keep my husband company. The bathrooms are clean, the beds are clean, and they have housekeeping almost every day. I see them coming to clean the floor and everything else in the bathroom. They take out the trash and everything. I can see that it's a nice place. The residents are actually like patients that live here. They are under the care of the doctors who were physicians of this facility so they arrange everything. They have a nurse who gives them the medication as required. You can find almost anything here like in-house physical therapy which they do if the residents wish to have therapy done. It's very convenient and it can be arranged. They have a barbershop or a salon for the residence if they want the hair done. They also have podiatry services, but these are outside people. If you need them to come here and do his hair or they need them to come to you and do his nails. I think they have a lot of stuff you can find here. The residents don't have to go out, they can come to you. The food is wonderful. I've eaten here before and they're delicious. I think they have a chef and a different menu every day. My husband gets 24-hour care here too which is great. I couldn't have done it alone or even with help at home. The service here is great.

My husband will be moving into Poet's Walk Sarasota. It's small, and they seem to be a caring bunch of people. The staff was very helpful. I think the room is going to be just right. The people are nice, and they have a lot of activities.

I'm very pleased with everything at Poet's Walk Sarasota. They are being very careful with the pandemic that's going on. They're taking good care of the people, keeping them active, which is good, and they take care of their medication. Their chef is a Cordon Bleu-trained chef so they're getting good food. All in all, I'm very happy with them so far. The people there are wonderful, they're so caring, loving, and kind. I had to provide all the furniture for my husband's room. The building is just very nice and well landscaped; it's a pretty building. The activities seem to be very good. Everything is too expensive, but it is what it is, and it's in line with the other communities in my location, so I can't complain about that.

Poet's Walk Sarasota is fairly new, pleasant, light, and attractive. The personnel seemed to be friendly and the staff who toured me around was very good. The dining area was nice. The rooms were good-sized and they have a craft area.
