My wife is in Windsor Reflections Memory Care. They have good-sized rooms and cleanable surfaces, except the common area/living areas have a dirty carpet and are smelly. The food is average. The staff is helpful. I have to go through two doors that are locked, which is troublesome. It's for security. It's just frustrating because you have to get a staff member to open the door every time you go through the door. They have activity rooms, a living room, and a TV room. The activities are good. They have music programs, exercises, and art projects.
What you can do with Caring
About Windsor Reflections Memory Care in Lakewood Ranch, Florida
Reflections Alzheimer's and Memory Care
Dedication to Service
Caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's or other memory impairments is a very personal, loving dedication to service. It requires service for specific and individual needs.
More often, the resident with memory loss needs assistance with life's daily activities including personal care but may not have an acute medical condition requiring around the clock skilled nursing or instruction. Finding that unique combination of physical setting and specialized care is a journey traveled by many families.
The Reflections Program
At Reflections, our trained staff works closely with family members and friends to assemble a "Life History" identifying the personal experiences of each resident's life.
Through the "Life History," we get to know the personality behind the person, fostering a one-to-one association more like "friend to friend" rather than "staff to patient." Details and events from your loved one's past become "shared" memories and experiences serving as a foundation for activities, communication, and the development of friendships built on support, understanding and mutual respect.

Windsor Reflections Memory Care is very nice and very warm. The person I saw was very helpful. She showed me the room, but the room was not appropriate for us. I wanted a lower budget and she showed me a shared room. It's so small and they expect two people to be staying in that room. My husband doesn't need a shared room, he wants a private room, which I agree with. They were going to show me the private room but it so happened that the day before I was able to view it, I got a call from another facility that my husband had been accepted so I never went back to Windsor. I have not tried the food, but I walked past the dining area and it was very nice and very clean. The staff there was good too. I saw the way that the residents were cared for at the dining hall. I would say the place is very nice but I also think it's very pricey. It's clean, big and spacious.

My mom moved into Windsor Reflections six weeks ago. It's a beautiful place, with high-end amenities and good staff. The director is excellent and right on top of everything. The food has been excellent. I have no complaints so far, and I would recommend them.

I am impressed with the looks, cleanliness. A person really has to be there daily for several hours and staff are rarely there. Many times when they are out during some activities there are several staff thatake inappropriate comments to the residents. If a family member not present at meal time they do not get a choice. I looked for 30 minutes when a resident fell. Could not find i got the person up. 15 minutes later when i told the lpn she shook it off and did not check resident. What you see is not really what you get.

I am amazed with the staff and care here at Reflections. Its the best thing we did for my Dad. We could have selected a cheaper community but the care at the others did not seem to be a priority. Its clean, the food is amazing and they have activities that my Dad actually takes part in. The Guys and Ladies are trained to take care of people with Dementia's.

I went to visit Windsor Reflections Memory Care, and I really like it, but it?s expensive. It's a very clean place. They did show us the rooms, the dining area, and the place where they congregate, and it was very impressive. They do have indoor activities like games and crafts.

My mom is in Windsor Reflections. I chose it because I like the surroundings. It is clean. The people seem happy to be there -- both the staff and the people that are staying there. The people that we talk to have a lot of expertise and said that she will be comfortable there. They go to shopping, they have picnics, and they do different things.

My husband was at the Windsor Reflections for two months. The environment was very well lit. It was very clean, but the staff was not knowledgeable with Parkinson's. One staff/CNA actually told my husband that she thought Parkinson's was a scam and so I brought him back home. I was very disappointed with the staff that would force him to pull himself up and walk when his knees and legs were giving away because they would tell him, "We just saw you walking, we know you can get up and walk." They didn’t understand as well as they refused to understand his situation. I would suggest the staff would be more knowledgeable about Parkinson's disease. I had a little issue with some services. They had bus rides, but they are not able to take my husband because they said there isn’t any room for wheelchair. I would have given then a 5-star rating if they knew more about Parkinson's. I think they need to know about other diseases other than just dementia because Parkinson's and dementia kind of go hand in hand. When someone tells them they can't do it, they should not force them to do it.
