This facility is very clean, but what sets it apart is the staff who are kind, caring and thoughtful in addition to being extremely competent at what they do. They could not do enough and knowing that my dad was in a safe, caring place allowed me to sleep better at night.

Room was dirty and had sewer flies everywhere. I spoke to the Director and his response was they are coming in thru theA/C unit and did nothing. I only had one nurse that had plenty of compassion. The rest were rude and didn’t care The Physical Therapy department was wonderful and helped me at least walk and get up The doctors’ physician assistant ripped my oxygen mask off my face and said I didn’t need it but yet PT told me too keep it on. I had a appointment with my heart surgeon and begged him to help me get discharged so he sent me back stating I’m ready for home health. The PA from this rehab facility said ..”oh, your not going anywhere” Food was the worst I have ever had. I had a family member bring me something to eat everyday. I also tried to get up to use the bathroom (nobody was answering my call bell) I lost my balance and ended up on the floor with the bed breaking my fall. I ended up lying in my own piss and eventual was able to get back in my bed about 60 minutes later. I then started screaming for help and the nurse and 2 assistant finally came to my room. After he quickly tuned the bell light off. He said you need to use the bell light. I said I did about 90 minutes ago. He said look it’s off. I didn’t want to argue with him I just wanted my sheets and clothes changed This place is terrible and run very poorly

First I’d like to say that these are very difficult times and I write this for no other reason to forewarn those who are considering this facility. While the admissions staff was great and promised us good care for my father who had broken his hip, I could never recommend the nursing staff . My father laid in bed for 4 days and was treated like he was nothing more than a huge bother to the staff. Zero compassion and lack of understanding is the common thread amongst the caregivers - on top of that the food is absolutely inedible and that is no exaggeration. While we didn’t expect 4 star dining. Dinner was a piece of stale bread with a piece of ham in it accompanied by a bag of lays bbq chips - how can anyone heal there when nutrition is such an integral part of getting well again . I wouldn’t put my dog or cat under their care.

I spent 4 weeks at Manor Care following a hospital stay at Sarasota Memorial after a car accident that left me seriously disabled - the hospital sent me there. Manor Care was terrible - the food was awful, the 1st shift caregivers were good but 4 of the 2nd and 3rd shift caregivers were mean and not helpful at all. The physical therapy did not help me at all. I wasted 4 weeks being there. After Manor Care I moved to another skilled nursing facility that is great and am improving from their therapy. I don't recommend Manor Care.

I arrived at Manor Care very ill and bedridden. I could barely sit up to eat. I ended up having a leg amputated. The staff/therapists were great. 9 months later I am independent and able to go home. They truly care about their residents.

My Father and Mother both had rehab and then became Long term care residents here. My father had Alzheimer’s and dementia he lived for 8 years at Manorcare until he passed from the disease and celebrated his 92nd Birthday there. I can not say enough about the compassionate care that he received. They respected our culture and our religious beliefs as well and he was always treated with dignity and respect. When he passed we had so many family memeber as he had 5 children and their spouses. Manorcare was so accommodating to all of us and respected our beliefs. It’s hard having your parents in a long term care facility because of the guilt you feel but I assure you my father was taken care Of like family.

My mother was at Manor Care from July to September for rehab, and it was great. She did progress at first with the rehab, but she had other health issues that kept her from totally getting through rehab. I would say it was a pleasant stay for what it could be. For the most part, the staff was very good. They were very helpful and took good care of her. She didn’t have to wait for a long time when she needed something; they were right there. She had a lot of bandages that needed constant attention, and they were on top of it. It wasn’t homey, but they made it as comfortable a home as could be. It was neat and clean. I would recommend Manor Care.
