All I can say is WOW! Amazing staff and therapy department. My mother was there for a short term stay after a fall and the nurses on the south unit took great care of her. The dietary department was very aware of her dietary requirements. I would definitely recommend this facility to others. I had an opportunity to mean the DNS and ED, very knowledgeable and professional during this difficult time

Do NOT put your loved one here! After a week, I noticed something in my husband's teeth and suggested he brush his teeth ... he told me that they had never given him a toothbrush or toothpaste! At 11 days, I was coming to take him for a CT off campus and I told him to be sure to get his shower early so he'd be ready when I got there. When I arrived, he was still waiting for the shower that he had asked for! I was going to give him a shower by myself but there was no shower chair nor facecloths or towels. When I pressed, he told me that he'd not had a shower since arriving there 11 days ago! I checked with his roommate and he told me the same thing and asked if I could get him a toothbrush. Are you kidding me!??? The staff there is either lazy, totally incompetent or have never been given any training! Needless to say, I did not bring him back!

They are understaffed and the current staff lets the call bells go unanswered for over 15 minutes several times. The nurse could not give report on the patient 1/2 way into her shift because she did not look at his chart information. When I asked for an update. Only seen by speech therapy once even though the patient has Parkinson’s and had a stroke that affected speech. Physical therapy would come to work with the patient at 5:00 pm and obviously a Parkinson’s patient at that time of night has no ability to do physical therapy, so does no good. The patient was told by the CNA that they were too busy to help him eat his food but yet the Occupational Therapist consult said that he needed help with utensils for feeding. A patient was witnessed by me in a pool of blood, where he had cut himself his leg on the wheel chair and was bleeding profusely onto the hallway floor. The nurse hurried up and came down the hallway and said what did you do and then she pulled the metal from the wheelchair that he had cut himself on to proceeded to push him, wheeling back into his room, dragging his foot that was bleeding on the ground I was not the only person that witnessed this. There was one nurse for 16 patients. When I voiced my legitimate concerns the patient and I were retailed against . The patient my family member What’s afraid to get back in the bed from his wheelchair because he said they will not let me get back out again. They only let me out of my bed once a day so I had to complain to the occupational therapy who said that they should be getting him up and putting him in the chair when he wants to get in the chair, but he said no that the nurses wouldn’t do that they would only let him get out of the chair once, and then they say they were too busy to let him get up again so he was too afraid to be put back in his bed even though he was in a lot of pain that is so sad and pathetic. That place would do a patient that way. Please do your homework before choosing this place to take your loved one too, because you just might be taking them to place that they may not come out of because of the poor care that they get.

I visited with three of my grandchildren for their Fall Festival this year. First I would like to thank everyone who helped make this happen. We had a lovely time ! I was very impressed with the facility and residents alike! The residents obviously love this event. All were so involved and kind. The gentleman singing outside was wonderful and seemed to enjoy what he did. The ladies selling and advertising were just lovely. We got some candy and bargains! We ate, danced ,trick or treated and pet animals. We wanted to also rich base on the cleanliness of this place. The workers that were taking care of residents were fantastic. Fantastic place to visit for their Fall Festival. Great place of you need their services. I know I will highly recommend this facility. GREAT JOB !!

This rating of one star is not for the nursing staff nor the director nor the caring receptionists.. They all did their job well. This rating is for the social worker who sent my father all the way to Sarasota without notifying us. He is now dying and I'm over an hour away and struggling to be by his side. My mother passed away a week ago and my brother and I did not inform her he was this far otherwise she would have died broken hearted. We received and apology from the weekend receptionist and the director but not ever the social worker.. she had a very lame excuse when speaking to her boss "I thought I called the son!" So for this I think there should be zero stars but I have to put something... we should have been notified where he was going and even if we weren't we should have been given an apology by the person who made the mistake and if that had happened I would not be writing this. I just hope she takes better care of the other clients and families from here on out and I hate that we might have been a lesson to her but, at least, I hope that can come of a pretty disheartening situation...

Village Place Health and Rehabilitation Center is excellent. Everybody is friendly and nice. They have nurses, doctors, and CNAs. They do have some aides, but for the most part, the nurses, doctors, and CNAs take care of all the people. The place is spotless. The grounds are very well kept. The food is excellent. Everybody is also very courteous, professional, and informative.

We didn’t care much about Village Place when we visited the facility. The staff were friendly, but we just don’t care about the facility. Their residents seemed happy.
