I was extremely disappointed with Harmony. It had a very impressive entrance, then once you get to the other side, there was this old, broken down car on the side that looked like a rundown trailer add-on. The staff there consisted of two people, and they were doing the cooking, so it wasn't appealing. They offered three meals and two snacks a day. The rooms were very small. The door was enough to get a wheelchair in and out of, but I didn't see anything private about any room. Also it was quite a distance from the rooms to the bathing area. The staff was very friendly but I had difficulty understanding them. I speak English only and I think they were Asian. However, they seemed bubbly and welcoming.

Harmony looks more where we take people for mental issues. It looks like mostly for people with mental disabilities. There were only two elderly people there with Alzheimer's. It was very disappointing and very depressing. Only three people run the place. They have the person who cooks, one nurse, and somebody else. The person who accommodated me was the nurse. She was trying to do her work, but she was struggling with the medications and with helping me. The house was dirty and dark, and the furniture was old. It was a mess. The kitchen was a mess too. There was a dining area where the tables were placed like those in a restaurant, but it was kind of weird.

Harmony Retirement had a great staff and a very good location. Their director seemed very professional. They seemed to be in very good shape and have good people working there. The residents seemed happy.

The outer grounds looked well-kept and pleasant. The staff greeted us and seemed very warm and friendly - which is the most important thing to the family. The private spaces were all clean, well-kept and conveniently designed. They take the time to personalize to each resident's tastes. The foyer was nicely decorated and seemed homey, as did all of the communal rooms. The activity calendar features many healthy and stimulating activities. We liked that the staff encourages participation and tries to make everything interesting for its residents. They have outings to local libraries, events, culture, restaurants, shopping and even athletic activities. They take suggestions to update the schedule as much as possible. The food looked deliciously prepared, as well as nutritious. The dietician and chef changes up the menu to keep it interesting and encourage residents to make suggestions. The dining areas were nicely designed and warm. Residents may choose communal dining or more private situations. There are places for them to visit with families, as well. The seniors here really enjoy living here. The staff is kind, caring and very attentive to all of their needs.

We visited Harmony Retirement Living while searching for a suitable assisted living facility for my friend's mother. Many of their family members live in the area, so it would be an ideal place for her to live. The outer grounds looked well-kept and pleasant.
