My husband is at Gardens of North Port. I would recommend them because they help me and they're helping my husband now. He has only been there for a week, and I go every day for 3 or 4 hours because I'm trying to get him to adjust because he has a little bit of dementia from his Parkinson's, which is a little bit more complicated. They're very caring. It's assisted living, but they have step-up care. They don't leave you in your room. They take you out to your breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have you in the common area so they can keep an eye on you and keep you motivated with other people, and so far, I'm fine with it. My husband is doing pretty good. He is out there being more social. He is not in this hospital setting type; he is out there with other people. They have a happy hour on Friday, and they have little music and all this kind of stuff. They do stuff with them. I was very nervous about leaving him there, and so I spent the night there, and so they're very accommodating. I can't ask for more. They have different levels of people. They have two different dining rooms. In the dining room where my husband is, they take everybody to their tables in this dining room. They feed themselves, but they're not as up and going as the other dining room people are, so they have kind of separated in that way. It's all decorated for Christmas. Every room has some Christmas stuff in it, lights and trees everywhere. And the staff is good to the patients. In the room, you have a bed, a dresser, and a nightstand. They also have single rooms and shared rooms. I have a shared room right now for my husband but there's nobody in there right now. They also have a room that is more like a little suite. It has a refrigerator and a sink. They have some rooms that look like they have a little living room thing, and then you walk over here and then there's your bedroom. They have couples there. It's like a little apartment and it's kind of cute. And the community is gated, too. You have to hit a button to come in.

No activities, poor food choices and they run out of food. The activities director is always hanging on the residents or the staff. The men are hugged and kissed to much.

My mom is at Gardens of North Port now, and their services are probably the utmost terrible that they can be. They're supposed to be following her doctor's food recommendations for her diverticulitis, but they're not doing what they're supposed to be doing at all. She's not supposed to have anything with seeds or anything that would cause her food to go back up. The facility is all in one level, which is a good thing. It's spread out quite a bit. They will not let the residents walk around outside with their walkers at all, even after having both shots for COVID. They are only allowed to do that inside. They haven't been outside in about eighteen months, so it's been really bad on my mother. She doesn't partake in any activities. They used to play cards, but that's about it. I don't think the staff really cares. I think they care more about their paycheck, that includes the front desk people, and the ones that make the food. They're just doing whatever they want to. There's always a shortage of staff, and a lot of times. They cook the food one way and load it up on the salt. They are also way, way more overpriced for their service.

I went to the Gardens of North Port to take a tour. It was wonderful, it just didn't have as many options as the other place did for Mom's situation. I toured with the director and she showed me a couple of the rooms, and they were great. I didn't have anything bad to say about it. It was a large studio apartment.

The Gardens of North Port was very nice. I was there for breakfast. They kept them busy in the game room where they had all sorts of games and a TV room and a computer room in the same area. The food was very good, and the dining room was nice.

My sister-in-law and brother-in-law have been residents of The Gardens of North Port for about two months after a bad experience at a local assisted living facility. We assessed numerous assisted living facilities in Southwest Florida and then visited about 10 facilities before we selected Gardens of North Port. The management and key staff have been outstanding. They help my in-laws in so many ways. My detailed assessment had an important criteria of the nurse staff. I tried the meals in other facilities and I have had a meal about three times at Gardens of North Port. The meals have been balanced, healthy and good. Really good. Still after 2 months, I would give it a 5 star. I am there about 20% of the time, so I really get to see the operation. There is nothing negative that I can say. Denise, the Manager... Bobby, the Assistant Manager ... Carmen, Rachel, EVERYONE on the staff are qualified and perform as a team. Thanks to all the staff at Gardens of North Port our family sleeps well and we know my sister-in-law and brother-in-law have great comfort and care. We are forever grateful.

My father is at The Gardens. It is very welcoming. The visit was great; we took him out. We find everybody to be very pleasant and helpful, and my father is very happy. The people that were in the kitchen were all very pleasant. They have a room for puzzles; they’d play bingo. They have a nice gathering room for a social hour. He has a walker, and he can make a nice loop around and cover the whole place.

The main reason we picked The Gardens of North Port because it’s all on one floor. She doesn’t have to go in an elevator or up and down stairs. Her room is sunny, so they have a lot of light in the rooms. They have activities, and she gets her hair done once a week. There are people coming in and singing, and it's very nicely decorated through the holiday. The rent hasn’t been corrected. Others have petty cash accounts, and I would think it would be computerized. It’s all done by hand and sometimes there’s a little misunderstanding. Financially, they need to be a little bit more accurate. As far as the care part of the staff, they’ve been all real good at coming and checking on mom and getting her meds.

I have a place in mind. It is called Gardens of North Port. I like it. I have looked at some other places, and I like it there. It was clean and pleasant. It was in line with the prices of other places. I haven't really made a final decision, but that one is my favorite place right now. The staff was professional. They have activities for their residents. They were playing bingo at that time.

My mother-in-law was in this facility for two months, and the only reason we removed her from it was that her condition worsened and she needed 24-hour nursing care that an ALF could not provide. We spent a lot of time there with her, and we were very pleased with the caregiving staff, the facility itself, the management, and also the dining. It is a beautiful, clean, friendly place with lots of activities for residents at various levels of independence. We only wish we had moved her there sooner so that she could have had more enjoyment of everything that was available to her there.
