This facility has been a god sent. Our mother was admitted there recently. The staff is always smiling and interacting with the residents. They truly care about the health and well being of their residents. The rooms are clean and neat.

the care is great, the poor review is for their lack of helpfulness regarding insurance. my mother in law has expended her entire retirement fund and is now going to rely on medicaid. when we first entered this facility, the staff assured us that when her funds began to dwindle and she would only have her 685.00 per month social security, they would be applying for medicaid for her--- not they dumped it in our laps after her funds were gone and she owes over 5000.00 i have been in contact with the state elder care and bounced from place to place. my family has never been on any kind of assistance so i have no idea what we are doing. i did receive a medicaid card for her. upon contacting the facility, they could care less about helping us.. i fear she will soon be evicted to the street. we do not know where to turn or what to do and this facility is of no help in this regard.. so before you go make sure all your ducks are in a row .i am currently filling out a cms1500 and submitting a bill directly to medicaid to try to get someones attention. i hope my cpt/icd 10 codes are correct...

When my elderly mother needed the level of care that we could no longer provide at home, it was time to make a change. This was a serious, and very emotional step for myself and my siblings. For years my mother made me promise that we would never put her into a nursing home or facility. We knew that she needed some time o facility, and we shopped around all throughout north florida. Some were good, and some were bad. Some were terrible. Thank god we found Oakridge. It was a blessing. When Mom saw the place for the first time, she was still a little hesitant, but she was much less worried. Eventually we were able to move her in, and we all ended up relived. She had a wonderful private room that we were able to furnsih with her own bedroom set, and they even let her bring her cat. Such a simple little thing, but what comfort and relief for her to know that her long time companion would still be sharing her life. The food is served in a gourgeous dining room, these meals are enjoyed in the company of the other residents. Trips to the mall, and library, as well as an onsite store and cosmotologist helped mom to adjust, and eventually come to love her new home. We lost here some years back, but we are all so much happier for the time she was able to spend at Oakridge ALF. I still go back to visit with some of the friends she had made throughout her stay.
