I'm at Advent Christian Village, Inc. It's excellent. I chose it because of the beautiful grounds and beautiful apartments and well executed. They have assisted living, skilled living, and independent living. I'm in the independent living. I've been all over the campus. It's very well thought out. It's very lush. It had a lot of trees and it's beautiful. It's right on the Suwannee River. You have to pay for the food, but I'm in independent living and I make my own meals. They have lots of activities. They have exercise. They've got paint and crochet. You pay a membership fee, but you have access to ceramics, photography, and all kinds of stuff. They have an indoor pool, heated pool, exercise room, and two libraries. It's 1200 acres. You can have your little plot in their garden. It's a very rural area and we're a little community within a community and we have our own mailroom. We have our own grocery store.

Advent Christian Village Inc. already has my name listed down there, but I haven't decided that's where I want to go because they don't have any openings now. I talked to the lady just a few weeks ago before my grandson got put in the hospital, and she said that the hurricane had hit several of the smaller homes there, and they were having a cleanup day. They were trying to clean up and see what kind of repairs they had to make. They are homes. The people are very agile, can walk around, take care of themselves, cook for themselves, and do things like that. Then they have some sections of it that they have help and then they have a nursing home there. It's more assisted living than the other kind. I like that Advent Christian is closer to my family. It's closer to people that I know personally. It's not moving to a noisy, noisy big city. The staff who toured me was very good. I got literature and stuff that they've sent me. I want some kind of little cottage or something that would be private. Their homes were very nice, but they are small homes. They're not great big elaborate homes. I've eaten down there several times. They have a good kitchen and a very nice dining area. They have anything you want down there like tennis, swimming pools and heated pools. They have something actively going on with the older people all the time. Also, the staff keeps me informed on what they've got for rent and what they're doing down there. People seemed very happy there.

Advent Christian Village Inc was wonderful. I loved it. The best thing about it was they do a lot of stuff. They do ceramics and painting. They have a church, a dining room that's like a restaurant, a beauty salon, security, and a clinic that is open 24 hours. It is like a town within a town and they were by the river. So, it's nice. I would love to move there.

Advent Christian Village is an awesome place. It suits people that are not quite ready to be in a nursing facility. They have homes that you can buy or rent, there are condos, they have mobile homes, and all kinds of facilities to accommodate many people in different stages of their lives. It was the only place that met my standards for my father. The memory care wing also has a huge church and it has several dining facilities. It's got what they call The Lodge, but it's like little hotel rooms that you can rent. So you can stay there and then get up the next day and go visit your loved one. It has a grocery store on the premises and it has a bank on the premises. It's just a really interesting place and I love what it stands for. The food is awesome, it's like country cooking. They have public facilities where you go to eat publicly. I have eaten there with my father and the food was good. They have so many different varieties of activities and they're all interesting, a lot of them are not traditional. Right now, they've got a grant for growing plants and trees that are keeping them active. They have many things depending on their needs because they have different centers for the different ailments that people have. They helped us with getting the Medicaid application in order so we didn't have to stress about that. They've provided us with many different things and guidance. They go above and beyond any other facility that I toured and researched.

Advent Christian Village Inc was a contained community. It has houses, cottages, and apartments. They have their own medical facility and grocery store there. They were also most reasonably priced. You could get a two-bedroom apartment for $1,400 a month plus they give you a food allowance of $100. It's not all-inclusive with all the utilities and everything, but when you add up the actual cost, it's lower than the other places that offer the same thing. It's a beautiful campus. It's right on the Suwannee River. There were benches where you could watch the water flow by and there's lots of woodland area. It's a very quiet and very soothing environment. The lady was very informative, very friendly, and just a very pleasant person. She gave me good information without being too aggressive, which I liked. She gave me what I needed and made me feel welcome. The apartment was very roomy. There was lots of space, lots of light coming in, and it was very clean. Their hallways were wide enough for wheelchairs. They have pull cords in a couple of rooms and they have wheelchair-accessible showers. The whole place was just very well thought out. The cottages and all the buildings were very attractive.

Advent Christian Village was a very nice, very quiet, and beautiful area. It's kind of remote, and it's about an hour away from a VA facility. However, they didn't show me the rooms because of COVID, and they don't offer three meals a day, so you have to purchase the food and cook it yourself. They have really nice amenities. They have an indoor swimming pool and a ceramic house, but it doesn't seem that the residents there are very active. The staff who assisted me was very nice and very knowledgeable. However, the closets are small.

My mother-in-law moved in to Advent Christian Village. She has a 1-bedroom apartment in a 4-storey apartment building, and shes enjoying it. They have a pool table, a recreation room, bingo, a swimming pool as well, a place for doctors and even a small shopping center. Its a big old place, and they have just about everything there. When I went there, many people would come up to talk to me and my mother-in-law, and they seem to be doing everything for her. The staff members that I spoke with in the main office called me back and everything, and always checked on her. She went down to the dining room several times and she told me she enjoyed it. Plus she could also make what she wants in her room.

I toured Advent Christian Village. It was very quiet and the facilities were excellent. I saw a vacant 2-bedroom apartment. It had a stackable washer and dryer, there was a car and a half garage attached, and it was very reasonable. The person who gave me the tour provided me all the information that I wanted, although she was quite busy and didnt have a lot of time to show me around. She did tell me where to go to see the different amenities they have, and I found their amenities quite nice. I saw people using their pool and the exercise room. It was very nice and quite spread out, so you'd need to drive to go to various amenity areas. They also had a little shopping area there, which was right across from the apartments. The assisted living is all contained in one building. They also have activities in the Suwannee River where you could go boating, kayaking, fishing, and things like that.

Advent Christian Village would take me and my social security, and then everything else will be paid by Medicare. It’s one of the best in the States. My father and mother were over there. They had good staff and good nurses. They had a huge, restaurant-style dining room and a large nursing home part, assisted living, and several acres where you can build your own house. You are connected directly to the nurses’ station in case something happens to you.

Everybody was really helpful at Advent Christian Village. They're a really nice people, and they have a variety of formats for living situations for seniors. They have everything from rentals to buying your own home to you putting on a mobile home. They have different groups that get together all the time. They have transportation, and right on the property just across the street is like a strip mall where it has a grocery store, a post office, a bank, and all kinds of stuff. Everybody was real cheerful and helpful. They have over 500 employees serving over 800 residents. It is a good sized place, and they have a variety of living situations. We reviewed probably five other places, and we ended up going here because of the variety of activities and their assisted living situations.
