I've chosen Caring Village of Margate for my dad because it was within budget, they accept Medicaid, and because of the activities that they provide. They have physical therapy, dancing, and they have someone that comes in twice a week to engage the residents in activities. His room is very nice and very clean. The staff is very friendly. It's like a family there because I have personal communication with the staff who care for him, which is great. The facility is big but small enough where it's intimate. The atmosphere is welcoming. When I came in to see my father, they knew who I was. They went to go look for him and I wasn't left waiting. It's very intimate and personal. There is a main area where the seniors sit out and watch TV, and it's pretty big. There's also a nice porch outside. Another thing that I really liked is that they immediately rushed him to the hospital when they noticed that he was bleeding from his urine the second day that he was there. They took him to be admitted at the hospital and they called me right away to let me know what was going on. That means he's being cared for and they're attentive to his needs. The personalized communication is by far the best. I'm contacted immediately when there was something happening with my father. And my father likes it there, which is good. I want to say they really value the care for the seniors. They're not doing it just for the money. It seems like the staff are really dedicated. They are really, really nice, and they really seem to care about the job that they do.

I came from out of the country to visit my cousin who is in Caring Village of Margate. I was absolutely shocked with what I saw. The building has not had a coat of paint in years and is in desperate need of repair. The walls and the floors are dirty and there are roaches crawling everywhere. We pulled his night table out to try to kill a roach and there was so much dirt behind the table, I’m sure it had not been cleaned in a long time. The food that was served to him when I was there was not only unappealing it was certainly not a balanced meal. I found the staff to be unfriendly and I felt like I was bothering them by coming to visit. I can’t believe this place is still in business. It needs to be shut down.

Caring Village of Margate was filthy, the walls were dirty, the floors were dirty, the bathrooms dirty, the kitchen was dirty, and two roaches climbing the wall where the refrigerator is. It's absolutely dirty. Other than the person that was walking me around, everybody was indifferent. Only the person that's walking you around, giving you a sales pitch, was the only animated person. Everybody else seemed to be very indifferent to visitors. They showed me this one closet space that they called the library where they had a table stacked with books strewn all over the table and on the floor and one chair. That was "their library." They showed me the dining area. Everything was just dirty. There's an outdoor area that's not kept. On their website, they show it probably as it was completed, but it's in a state of disarray. No maintenance to it whatsoever. They were vegetable gardens full of weeds. It's just terrible. Nobody cares about it.

My parents are here. They're great. They were recommended to me by someone whose parents were there as well. So far, so good. They have activities. I see pictures of them playing bingo. My dad says that they play other games, too. They went in just before the lockdown, so it has been a little difficult. I'm very pleased that they have their own private room. It is a nice size, comfortable, and very clean. Everybody seems happy there. Everything is very clean; it doesn't smell. My parents say the staff members are very nice, and they are treated very well. They have an outside patio, a few lounges, and a nice dining area. It all seems very nice; that's why we chose it.

My father was here. We were very happy with it. I thought the staff was very attentive, really professional, and really good at keeping the family updated on his status, changes, and needs as they evolved. The place was very clean and had a lot of activities for the residents as well as activities like support groups for the caregivers. He very rarely had a roommate, but it was a two-person room. They had a bathroom in the hallway where multiple people use the same bathroom.

Mother is here. They're very caring, on top of situations, and provide services that we hoped they would. We're happy with the services. The layout is accessible. They have bingo, pet therapy, speakers, religious services, and a hairdresser. I like that they also accept people with psychiatric diagnosis and not just memory illness.

We think mom's fine here. She's been there for about a month, now. Although, I haven't been able to go down to see her yet, I have spoken to her and it seems okay. She seems happy. The facility is pretty basic. It was more of the care that we're really concern of. And I think the care appeared to be a little better than others, specifically dealing with Alzheimer's.
