My wife was at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Largo for three weeks. It was an excellent rehab. She had 3 to 4 hours a day, and she's back where she's at least walking on the walker. Also, her mental capacity has come back a lot, so she's almost 100% better than when she went in, so it's very good. The staff were really good. It was all paid for through Medicare. There's a double room. They've got 2 or 3 gyms that they used for rehab. People come in there for 2 to 3 weeks and then they're in and out.

I was told by several people Encompass is the best. The facility is immaculate and physical therapists may be amazing. I spoke with one named Austin and had high hopes for my father’s recovery. Every day he had a different nurse and there didn’t appear to be any communication as every day they asked me about his baseline. My father had Parkinson’s and was not able to eat or drink without assistance. Staff left food and drink on the table and walked away. Friday, December 13th I spoke with his nurse who said he wasn’t having a good day and was so dehydrated it took most of the morning to get an IV going. I told her I was on my way. When I arrived the paramedics were taking my father to the hospital. Four administrators standing in the hallway - at least that many people sitting behind the desk and not one of them called me. When I asked his nurse, Michelle how someone could become dehydrated in their care she denied telling me he was dehydrated and told me not to snip at her. The other nurse in the room said “what’s with people today - we can’t pour water down their throats?” My father had a spontaneous bleed that may have come from a fall or otherwise being mishandled there. He was at Encompass for 3 1/2 days and passed away after four days in ICU. The nurse management team assured me her nurses acted appropriately. I assure you they did not. There is nothing I will regret more than entrusting this facility with my father’s cares. DO NOT make the same mistake with your loved one. -

Care from professional staff is good. Encompass has lofty goals, but doesn't seem to know how to achieve them. Staff seems to have chips on their shoulders, lots of complaints about how much they have to work. Information they provide patients is misleading and in some cases the WITH book says something in one place and contradicts it in another. Staff seems unfamiliar with the info provided in that book. Getting answers or responses takes A lot of effort unless you happen upon an employee who cares. I think it's about the money.

My mom was at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Largo. Considering COVID, it was pretty good. They would only allow one person back at a time. When my mother first went there after her stroke, I had a broken collarbone, so my daughter had to drive me down a nine-and-a-half-hour drive. Because of my injury, they did allow my daughter to come back with me to help because we just wanted to tend to my mom. The facility was amazing. The physical therapists communicated a lot with us. Anytime I would call, I would get a call back. Granted, it might have taken a few hours (I understand that the nursing staff was busy), but I would get a call back that day. They did have some nice activities. The rooms were nice and clean. The staff was very attentive, so I really enjoyed our experience at Encompass. The staff was phenomenal. It was a beautiful building, and very clean. The PT rooms were great. Her insurance paid for everything. Right after my mom's stroke was her 85th birthday, and we asked if we could have more than one guest to visit with her, so they let us bring ten people into a private room. They decorated it for us, and we threw her a birthday party. They had some pretty nice activities. She did not go to a lot of them because she was pretty tired after physical therapy.

I'm in Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Largo. I'm going to be discharged on Monday. They're very pleased with my progress. I'm hoping to get back to walking just fine. I've been here about a week now. It's excellent all the way around. The physical therapists are great. The occupational therapists have been so good; Everything has been exceptional: the nurses, the techs, and the food. It's just one level. They have a therapy gym. It has a couple of wings. I've only been in one wing because that's where my room is. The other wing has the kitchen and the dining area for the workers. My room has a bathroom, a shower, and a sink. They did a group therapy one time with music and a director. Everyone is very cordial.
