I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

where to start?? The first floor is fabulous but geared towards recruiting new residents. The last remodel removed the resident's library and the break room for staff so no one is happy. The good staff realizes the problems and moves on after 3 months or so. Don't expect anyone to respond to the floor level alarms in the resident's bathroom because they don't. Food service changes monthly and the rules change as well. Total units occupied continues to decrease as long time residents get fed up and move. Parking is very limited for family visitors and for workers so arrive early if you want to park. Rating on staff is for food service, maintenance and other direct workers and NOT for management.

I visited this facility

Carlisle Palm Beach was not in a great neighborhood, but the facility inside was very lovely. It had sort of a cheerful atmosphere. Some of the apartments had a beautiful view of the ocean. The people were very gracious. They had cocktails while we were there. There was music, and you could eat and drink. It was a very pleasant atmosphere.

Provider Response

Our team is focused on providing a great quality of life for our residents and their families. Always feel free to visit and share your experiences with us.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom has moved into The Carlisle Palm Beach. It's a fantastic location, and they have very good physical amenities. Overall, they have friendly staff, but a little bit challenged with COVID, which I'm sure is true everywhere. It's a very nice, gorgeous apartment, and great location in the area. The dining area is okay. Unfortunately, the food is one thing that's gone downhill with some of the supply chain issues and costs of food, and so forth. The food is suffering a little bit from what it once was. When she first moved in, the first week, it was phenomenal. But they've been a little bit challenged, and they are working to try to restore it to something better. They've gradually started some of the activities that were on hold, still anticipating hopefully more. With some staff bandwidth challenges and so forth, they're not fully as active as they can be. Still, there's a gap that they're working to fill. They have exercise activities, and they're starting back arts and crafts. They've got some games and movies. They have a pool, hot tub, and a beautiful kind of outdoor sort of promenade area. They've got a nice theater and library. The value for the money is very good. There are some adjustment challenges mom is going through, and still dealing with the remnants of COVID. The Carlisle certainly needs to get its act together in some areas, but from a value to money standpoint, it's got a lot of promise. They're kicking off a whole new set of physical renovations to the property, which I think will be fantastic. The place is already really nice, so I think there's a lot of pluses to look forward to, even despite of today's challenges. The upkeep and maintenance are overall, solid. I will say those folks work hard and are pretty good and responsive. We've had success with them.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My Dad became a resident 15 days ago. We searched 10 different places in Broward and Palm Beach County. This place was just the right size for my dad and not intimidating or overwhelming for him. I never felt like I was institutionalizing him but moving him to his new home. Robin and staff promised a lot of and delivered on ALL. No second request, all done the first time at signup. My dad who stated he would never use the amenities and not look for new friends has embraced the whole lifestyle and looks forward to the NEW next day. Not only did he find a new home, but I can also now rest knowing he's happy and safe. THANK YOU ROBIN AND COMPANY.

Provider Response

It’s such a pleasure to know your father is enjoying our community. We know how diverse retirement options are, and we’re honored he felt most comfortable here. The transition to a community like ours is a significant decision, and we’re happy to hear our team helped make this an informative and manageable process. Thank you for the positive review and top rating of our community.

My father was in memory care at The Carlisle and I would strongly discourage those considering to look elsewhere. The management is essentially incompetent and unresponsive. They don't show concern for their patients. And showed no interest in improving current conditions. There are virtually no activities for memory care residents, so they sit there staring at the walls 24/7. Until the Director of Memory Care is changed, I am highly skeptical that there will be any improvement. Sadly, my Dad's condition worsened quickly after he moved into the Carlisle, which is likely a direct result of the facilities carelessness and neglect.

Provider Response

We appreciate your candor. Our community is committed to providing nothing short of exceptional service and care to the residents who call our community home. We’d like to discuss the specifics of this review with you. Please contact me directly. Sincerely, Richard, Executive Director.

I am so thankful for the caring staff at the carlisle. My mother loves the food and I have dined with her several times and I have to agree with her. She has finally been able to socialize and make friends after being isolated in her home for so long. She has lived there 4 months now is so happy and wishes she had moved sooner. I highly recommend

Provider Response

Thank you for sharing your mother's experience with others. We're so glad she is enjoying herself in our community and will pass your kind words to the staff - especially our dining team!

Families Beware!! Our parents were here all of four months couldn’t get them out soon enough. The level of care went downhill within the first two months. Parent fell fractured back. Money stolen from apt. The food went from decent to disgusting when the entire kitchen staff cooks snd servers all walked. Let’s face it what is there for people to do at this age needing assisted care except to enjoy a nice meal. People were isolated no attempt to create connections for others. Every day it was another problem. The place looks beautiful but looks are deceiving.

I visited this facility

I visited Carlisle Palm Beach today, and that actually is on the top of my list right now. Everything was beautiful. It's how I would want to live while aging because it's like hotel living. It reminded me of a hotel; it's stunning. It looks like it needs some repairs in some places, but other than that, I have no complaints. I was very impressed with it. The people were friendly and everything was there. They had a room that was just vacated recently, and it was a little sad because you saw the pictures and the wheelchair and everything in there, so it's like somebody died. I didn't know what to think, but it was oceanfront and I thought, "Wow, this is pretty stunning." I was trying to find out if they get refurbished a little bit and the staff said they do, but I don't know the extent of it. That's more questions I need to ask, but other than that I have absolutely no complaint. We went down those hallways, and she told me they're going to redo the carpeting and stuff. If I were going to give my thoughts from a designer's point of view, I'd say keep it classic. Don't go too modern because if you go too modern, then you're just going to ruin the charm of that place, because that was the beauty of it. It was like an older, classic Florida hotel and it was beautiful. It's beautiful. I don't know what old people think, but some of the entryways were a little dated. I could see those being updated. But as far as the other stuff goes, I didn't see a lot of updating other than paint. The person who gave me the tour was amazing. She was delightful, very young, very professional, a cute girl, and relatable. She took her time, talked to people along the way, and introduced us to people. She made it completely like you would want to find out more about the place. She called me back, and she helped me to get there. We moved the appointment a little bit because I was running early and she accommodated me. Everything there was just first class. She told me some of the dining areas are going to get redone, which would be great. I thought it looked beautiful the way it was. I've stayed in old, classic hotels like that. Then after that, there was a guy setting up for a brunch, and they were inviting us to come to stay for brunch, which was very, very nice of them. One of the guys who was setting up was very friendly so to me, if I were my mother, whom I could hit over the head sometimes because she's just not making the right decision at this point, I would think this is an ideal place to go at this time in someone's life. There were some really cute ladies coming through with their dogs, probably walking them. The yoga room was quiet, but we were there at noon so that's probably why.

I am/was a resident of this facility

We're here in Carlisle Palm Beach for about 2 months now, and we're happy with it. The staff has been very open, very good, respectful, and we get a call every other day, "How are you doing so far, ok?" So things are the way we expect. The apartment is pretty good; it's a 1-bedroom, on the 3rd floor, and it's nice and pleasant. They've got exercise rooms, cinema which are nice. The location is good because they're walking distance to the ocean which we take a little walk to, and also it's near a small shopping center which is convenient with a pharmacy. We did the food, we get breakfast and dinner it's good, very acceptable; being from France, we have difficulty rating, but it's good enough.

Provider Response

Thank you Jean for taking the time to write. We're glad overall you are enjoying your stay in our community. We do take pride in our amenities and love our location. We strive to create exceptional dining experiences for our residents, however, we don't doubt that a French palate notices room for improvement and we would welcome any suggestions. Please reach out to your Executive Director with any other issues or concerns. Thank you for joining our community, we look forward to a bright new year!

We've been very pleased with Carlisle Palm Beach; mother is extremely happy. We have no complaints whatsoever. Their staff is excellent and the place itself is top-notch. They have all the standard activities for the residents. They have been on top of everything. They're a little expensive, but I think it has to do with the area too. I'm guessing that for the area it's a good value, but for us it's a lot. We're very satisfied.

Carlisle Palm Beach was lovely, and the staff was very knowledgeable. It's in a great location. They had a pool and a library. There were a couple of different places you could go to eat. The dining room and the movie room were open to both independent living and assisted living residents.

Carlisle Palm Beach was a beautiful place that had full services. It was beautifully maintained. The apartment we looked at was lovely. The dining room looked like a fine restaurant. The person who toured us was a very lovely and very gracious lady. There was no pressure. She was happy to show us around and answer our questions. There was a host of activities from cards to exercises. They also offered transportation, which was a big plus for us.

Toured this facility for my mother. I looked at several others and i wanted to see one more. Even though it was at high end of her price range. I was blown away by the assisted living apartments, the size, the menu options, and wide variety of activities. Everyone I saw was friendly and made me feel that this is the place for my mother. I am hoping her health allows her to see this become her home soon enough.

This community was referred to us through caring.com along with many other communities in the area. Out of every community that called me this community by far took the time to walk me through the difference between independent living and assisted living. It seemed most other communities just wanted to tell me how amazing they were and move in and didn’t even get to know about me or my needs. This community took the time to listen, to ask questions and made me really feel like they care about what is best for me. I so look forward to the next chapter of my life at The Carlisle.

I toured many communities in the area and The Carlisle was by far my favorite. Starting with Jillian their Sales Director who took the time to connect with me and find out what I really was looking for in a community for my mother. The community itself was beyond gorgeous and had an amazing activity program. I was able to meet so many staff members while I visited as well which helped me make the decision to move my mom there. Chris, Karen, Cuby and Donna were so gracious and welcoming as well. By far Kenaya at their front desk should get a special thank you for being the only receptionist to acknowledge me as soon as I walked in out of all the cimmunities we looked at. First impressions made the difference here. Thank you all.

Independent living at Carlisle Palm Beach was fine, but the assisted living and memory unit were definitely not up to par. There was not enough staff, and the patients were walking around aimlessly. It was an accident waiting to happen. I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving my father there.

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for giving my mother for a wonderful two years. The Carlisle truly made a difference in her life and one that her family will alway be grateful for. Mom loved virtually everything at The Carlisle, particularly the kind and caring staff, wonderful food and servers, beautifully maintained environment and just a general feeling of inclusion and contentment...like another family. Thank you again for being such a special place.

My mom, is so happy at the Carlisle. The Carlisle is a warm, welcoming place, and she feels very fortunate to be there. We are so grateful to all the managers, plus the folks at the front desk, the staff in the dining room (Rick and Chef David), the people who help her at Living Life at Home, and her favorite pianist, Joe, who makes Happy Hour so happy.

I visited looking for my brother. The facility was beyond gorgeous in all of the common areas. I was so surprised when we saw the apartment that it was outdated. Everyone we met was friendly and the young lady who showed us around was beyond knowledgeable and kind. I could look past the outdated apartment since everything else was so nice. However, my biggest fear was that I would have to park 7 miles away as there was absolutely no parking and this really bothered me. It is a shame with such a gorgeous community and the prices they charge that they do not offer valet and concierge type living. I will still give 5 stars because everything else shined during my visit. Parking however is a 0.

The Carlisle was ornate and very clean, and the representatives were very friendly. They also run a waiting list going out 60 plus days. The assisted living dining room was segregated from the independent living dining room. The initial entry fee at $5000 was pricey. This was one of the nicest places in Florida.

I was really surprised that Carlisle wasn’t more expensive than I thought, and it’s beautiful. The grounds were gorgeous, and the building itself was gorgeous. If you are in independent living, everybody eats together, but when you get out of the independent and go into assisted, they shift to a different dining room. I don’t know what their reasoning is for that. It is spacious, and it’s right on the beach. Its right across the Manalapan Plaza -- which is high rated -- and there are restaurants in it; you can walk just across street.

I am a friend or relative of resident

My mom lived in the independent living facility of the Carlisle (and loved it) until her dementia became more progressed and she needed more care. I looked into other nearby facilities, but decided that Legacy Court, the memory care part of the Carlisle would be the best and easiest transition for her. Donna, Karen, Taylor, and Tricia the director of Legacy court were extremely helpful and supportive during this transition. My mom has been at Legacy Court for over a year now, and it was the best decision that my brother and I made. The entire staff there, from the front desk, housekeeper, activities personnel, caregivers, nurses and even servers are the most caring people I have ever seen. They treat every resident with personalized care and respect. They also know each and every resident so well, their likes dislikes, etc...it just amazes me each time I visit. What ever training they they do there is incredible! They have a variety of activities every day....something for everyone! Some of the employees that I just love, and are great with my mom are Jennifer , Marjorie, Chantel, Melissa, Marie, Rhonda, Evet, Susan at the hair salon, Cheryl from PT, and Mildred the server. I am sure I am forgetting several names!! They are like one big family there, and when I visit I feel part of that family. If I ever have a question or concern Tricia the director or Chris the manager of the Carlisle are quick to respond which is very important to me. Living in a different state, it is a blessing that I can sleep at night knowing my mom is as safe and happy as she can be at this stage of her life. Thank you, to everyone at Legacy Court for making that possible!

We toured almost every community within 20 minutes of Lake Worth. The Carlisle was far superior from their apartments, amenities, services and staff. We had the pleasure of meeting Jillian, Donna and Taylor through the the tour to move-in process and they all were so warm, knowledgeable and always responded to our questions. Since our mom has moved in the staff has gone above and beyond, making every day for her the best day. The Carlisle Palm Beach was a nice place. It was very elegant, but the square footage was small. The facility was removed away from shopping areas, so you have to drive quite a distance to get anywhere. However, it was an elegant place, and it was very nice. They have assisted living and independent living, too. What I didn't like was that the independent people had their own separate dining area, and the assisted living dining area was definitely less elegant. One was better than the other and didn't have the same atmosphere.

I visited this facility

I visited The Carlisle, and it was beautiful, but my one turn off of it was that it is only beautiful if you're in independent living. And then if you're in assisted living, you're not allowed to go into the big, beautiful dining room; there were limitations to where you're allowed to go. I thought The Carlisle seemed beautiful and attractive, like a fancy hotel, but that was only most appealing if you're in independent living. Once you're in assisted living, you have to eat in a different, smaller dining room on a different floor. Overall, because they were perfectly good for what they were doing, I would give them a 4. However, I wouldn't want to be the assisted-living patient there, touring the place, thinking I would have access to the whole big, beautiful place if I wasn't really allowed to go in the prettiest area. It is most appealing for independent living and less appealing for memory care.

Excellent, staff outstanding. Mom's last 2 years were the best they could be.

Carlisle Palm Beach was a very nice place. It was a little too big. I think he would have gotten lost there, but it was a beautiful facility. It seemed like there were a lot of activities and a lot of things to do. There was nothing negative. It is a very good place, and I would not hesitate to send anyone there.

I have lived at the Carlisle over four years and compared to other places, it's the best. The staff from Justin to Jillian and Donna – from Rick and Mike in the dining room who always greet you and make you feel most welcome – to chef David who makes the food appetizing and taste good. The dining staff are well trained. To Karen and Ruthame who keep you busy that make living at the Carlisle so enjoyable. I love it.

What separates the Carlisle from other senior facilities is not just the beautiful premises and the delicious food; what truly separates the Carlisle is the professional staff who work tirelessly to bring joy into the lives of the residents. If you’re looking for a welcoming community, with people who like their jobs and spread good feeling, this is the place. There all kinds of activities, day and night. There are pianists and sing-alongs at Happy Hour, live shows every Saturday night, a cinema with two movies a day, lectures, fashion shows, pet shows, and of course there are card games and bingo! My mother is living the good life at the Carlisle, and not just because she’s winning at bingo.

I visited Carlisle Palm Beach. It was a very nice facility, but it seemed very expensive to me. The staff was very helpful. The building was beautiful. They have a very nice facility, but I didn't go into the rooms, and I did not eat there. The main reason I didn't get into details was because they didn't offer skilled nursing, and I wanted a place that offers skilled nursing. Plus, Carlisle Palm Beach was very expensive. However, I would recommend them because it was a beautiful facility, it is very near the beach, and it is very, very nice.

Please read this before you decide to place your loved ones in memory care at The Carlisle. I wish I had known beforehand the devastation that this would have on our 85 year old dad, a 20 year US Air Force test and fighter pilot and Korean War veteran. Dad has advanced dementia/Alzheimer’s disease and sometimes becomes agitated and combative. After our mother passed away in May 2014, I moved Dad down to South Florida to live in The Carlisle near me so I could visit him almost every day. We also hired 24/7 private aides to care for him at that facility. Perhaps being too new to memory care, The Carlisle has some untrained aides and nurses as it relates to defusing agitation/aggression in dementia patients. There are also some that are very good and are experienced and caring. At the end of January of 2015, unfortunately, The Carlisle felt they should call 911 as Dad became combative and the police report showed they were called about a “mentally ill person” and Baker-Acted him. I wish The Carlisle had just asked me to come and pick him up and never bring him back and I would have complied without hesitation. We were in the process of trying to get his meds right as his episodes had been increasing over the past months. A nightmare ensued and 6 weeks later he is still in rehab trying to learn how to walk again. Please find out if any ALF that you are considering will handle these situations where your loved one and family might be put in the same devastating and life altering situation that our family is now in.

While looking for my father I toured this communities memory care. I loved the whole community- beautiful grounds, spacious apartments and excellent staff. Unfortunately it was too far of a drive for me.

The Carlisle Palm Beach was a disgrace. It was rundown, and we had a very bad tour guide. The rooms were very unappetizing.

The Carlisle Palm Beach an independent and assisted living facility. It is upbeat, and the experience was nice. They treat my aunt wonderfully. When she had a fall, they both stood up, I would go down and get food, and they would serve us. They were wonderful to her, and she loves it; it was a great experience. It was a little bit expensive, and the independent care are now smaller. The part is not good. She had a one bedroom apartment with a washer and a dryer, and the kitchen was very nice. It’s very small, and that was fine to her. She is very happy, the people were friendly, and the food was great. There are lots of great amenities, and I could see that they’re probably going to redo the independent living. It looks ready to be revamped and modernized; the carpets started to look like gray.

I toured The Carlisle Palm Beach. Everybody was very nice. They offered transportation, entertainment, and it was like living in a hotel. You were free to come and go as you pleased. The place was very clean. The only thing that I objected to was the meal plan because I wanted a flexible meal plan. I just don't want to be limited to have these three meals a day. However, I was very impressed. It was a very lovely place, but it was just not for me. It was right across the street of a shopping center. Hospital and clinics were also nearby.

Carlisle Palm Beach was a very nice facility, and it has a wonderful location -- it's right near the beach. It's a block from the ocean, and there is a nice shopping center across the street. The facility is very upscale. They have cars and drivers to take people where they wanted to go. There seemed to be a number of people sitting together like they were on a cruise, and they didn’t look like they needed any help. They have a lot of intellectual activities, and it's really for someone who is very independent.

Of all the places I've seen, the food is the best at The Carlisle. They have movies twice a day. They have cocktail partys, as well as piano all Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. They bring in a lot of lectures and a lot of religious services for everybody. Some of the staff are good, some are bad. It's a pretty building for the location and nice apartment. The rooms are fine. The food is excellent. The driver service is a little deficient. They need more cars. You have to wait too long for them to pick you up after they drop you off.

Carlisle Palm Beach was a beautiful facility; however, it was just extremely high-end. Nevertheless, it would be a very nice place for seniors and the people who work there are very helpful.

I visited this facility

I visited Carlisle Palm Beach for my friends. They have very professional staff. Their apartments are very nice and well kept. However, at the time of my visit, I really didn't see any activities. There were a few residents sitting in the lobby, but they were in their wheelchairs and not doing anything. Also parking in Carlisle was terrible. It was horrendous trying to find a place to park there.

This is a very beautiful place but also very expensive. It fronts a beautiful hotel. There were chandeliers and everything, so you can just imagine what this place doesn't have. There's even a unit where it's still under construction. The staff was nice and friendly. There were different accommodations to choose from and they're all gorgeous. Like other facilities, they offer all kinds of recreation to their residents.

This facility has a great location, but they advertise it as Palm Beach. It's in Palm Beach County, but it's really in Lantana. Lantana has more of a laid-back feel, and isn't as ritzy as Palm Beach - it's about 20 minutes away from the real Palm Beach. It's across the street from the ocean. I don't think it has an ocean view, but it's very close to the ocean. They have a lot of walking trails, and it's landscaped very nicely. When you pull up, it has a very impressive look. It looks like you're going to a fancy hotel or country club. It has very nice Mediterranean architecture, and the lobbies are very nice. Once you get into the residents' areas, however, it's a step down from how it looks on the outside - inside it's sort of like your standard assisted living facility. The common areas are nice - they have some TV rooms and other common rooms. The food looks good. I haven't eaten it, but I know that they invite families for Thanksgiving and other holidays and that the food then is very good. They kick up the food a notch for holidays. In general, the food is good, but nothing extraordinary. Compared to the common areas and the lobbies, the rooms are a step down. They're adequate, but a little small. They have a kitchenette and a sitting area, plus a small balcony. They also have more of an apartment style living for independent living. The resident that I know mentioned that her main concern is that the staff isn't always very attentive. She needs help getting down to the dining room, and they'll help her in the morning, but they're not always as attentive about helping her get down to the dining room in the evening. The staff member I met when I was there seemed friendly, competent, knowledgeable, and pleasant.
