My friend moved into Finnish-American Village last month. It is not luxurious, but it is OK. The rooms are quite small. I know they have bingo, arts and crafts, and a sauna. My friend says she likes the food. When she first went in, she wasn't able to even get out of bed. But now, she's going down to the dining room. The staff seems wonderful. They're very good and caring and seem to be on top of things.

This center is so wonderful and caring I don’t even know where to begin. We were searching for a place for my mother-in-law to get rehab and we remembered the really bad experience she had been through last year with a nationally based nursing home. Never in our dreams did we think we would find such professionalism and such a caring staff who treat her like she was family. I recommend Finnish American house completely and I thank God we found them. She is attended to so closely and the staff gets her whatever she needs. Her blood count was so low and the staff arranged transport for her to get a transfusion at a local hospital. They seem to appreciate that we the family are involved and sometimes we have questions. They are so gracious in giving us the time to answer them thoroughly. This is the type of service that you wish every nursing home or rehab would give their elderly patients. I initially called Catholic charities hoping they could refer me to a rehab that is how I got their name. Kiddos from a grateful family❤️

I went to the Finnish-american Village. It was a very nice place. The staff was really knowledgeable and very helpful, but it just needed to be remodeled a little bit. It's an older facility. The lady was explaining that they had been there in the 1970's, and the property itself needs to be upgraded. Other than that, it was a nice place. They had a calendar, and every day they had five or six different activities.

I have been to The Village numerous times to visit a friend and it is always very warm and inviting as well as clean. The staff is very pleasant and talkative when you enter. The resident are nice. They play bingo and have a variety of arts and crafts. The dinning area is very spacious and clean.

Finnish-American Village was very clean, very neat, and very homey. I got to meet several of the staff, and the people there seemed very content. It was very peaceful. They had an activities director that really works with patients with abilities, and I really like that. The tour was very nice. I had a great first impression. The facility looked very well-cared for, and I'm comfortable with that. They showed me a room, and it's all very nice. I also saw their menu which looked awesome. It's in a nice and quiet location and easy to find. They have a garden area, like a patio with a garden area outside with plants and shrubbery and things. They are just really pleasant for their patients and everyone there to enjoy. It's important to them that people get some outside time.

My son-in-law went to Finnish-American Village for rehab, so I've been there. It was good. The nurses were very nice, very kind, and I liked that it was a small facility. I also liked the location, but it was very old.

My mom has been at Finnish American Village since last fall. The various activities and the opportunities for social connection has been great for her. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They do their jobs in a caring way and are helpful and friendly above and beyond their roles. Even with the current pandemic going on, I feel like I can really trust the care and attention my mom gets on a regular basis. She has a room with lots of light, and a little patio. The food is great and there are lots of options. Internet is provided (though my mom doesn’t use it much). There is also a courtyard so mom can go “outside” for a short walk and still be inside. It is a smaller, older facility so doesn’t have all the bells and whistles that some newer facilities have, but the extra caring and service make up for that.

The staff was friendly. Always said hi when I passed them. They stopped in my mom's room just to say hi. They have lots of activities and entertainers who come in to play for them. This is the best way I can sum up the staff and care at Finnish American Village: My mom was at Finnish American Village (FAV) for 5 months and she loved it there. The best way I can describe FAV is people who work there have "heart". I saw the care they took with residents. I paid attention when my mom first moved in because I wanted to be sure she was treated well. My mom was happier at FAV than she was in her apartment before moving there. At FAV aids and nurses stopped in her room when they were walking by just to say hi. Whenever I needed to call someone there I was able to reach them. Thank you for making my mom feel loved and at home.

My dad moved into the Finnish-American Village at the end of February. It's older, but it's nice and clean. My dad has a good room, and they have good food that he likes. The staff has so far been very good and we like them. We ate with them for one of the meals, and the food was really good. They have a TV room with movies and books to read. The nursing home part is expensive but my dad is in assisted living now which is a little better.

Our friend was placed in Finnish-American Village's assisted living for a couple of months now. The place is very good and very nice. The staff is very competent and very conscientious in treating everybody well, so we're happy. He's getting help with his medication. He has a double room although he doesnt have a roommate right now. Its very clean, nice, and homey. They have meals in the dining room, movies almost every day, bingo, and live music. They go out to lunch or they are taken out for shopping and different excursions. They're active. There are shared rooms and private rooms. I saw a gym, a physical area, and a beauty parlor and barber shop.

My mom moved into the nursing home side of Finnish-American Village, which is a smaller, more intimate, and caring community. It has a simple homey atmosphere. The food is mostly good and some of it is home-cooked. Half of the place is for the skilled nursing facility and the other half is for the assisted living facility, which have different times that they have their hours for the two groups. They have paintings donated from the Finnish community, so it gives it that home atmosphere. It's very tastefully done and not pretentious. They have many options available for the activities.

My brother is in Finnish-American Village now. It's good. The place is clean, the food is good, and the nurses are nice. He has Parkinson's, so the only thing that he does is seated chair exercises. He has a shared room which is small. They have a community TV room.

This facility was awesome. My mother stayed here and she loved all of the workers, they were very friendly. She also enjoyed all the activities at the facility, and the different Finnish programs they had. They were also very friendly and helpful when I would call from Michigan to see how she was doing. I would recommend this facility to anyone who is Finnish because most of the staff there speak Finnish and English. Keep up the good work. It's nice to have a facility like yours, assisted living and a nursing home together. My mother is thinking about returning next winter again.
