I just returned home from a stay at this outstanding and caring facility. As a patient from GA, I had never experienced the need to be transferred from a Jacksonville UFHealth hospital to a place for specialized Physical therapy. At age 86, I was concerned but from the moment I arrived, I was pleasantly surprised. The Administration staff was welcoming as were the other employees whose sole purpose was to help all patients achieve their goals. I have a special thanks for the physical therapy staff, the nursing staff and those that cheerfully brought my delicious meals and kept my room clean. I could go "on and on" about the friends I made there and will never forget. I hope the need I had, Cellulitis and getting to walk after several falls, never happens again but I would choose Rivercity again.

My interaction with the director of nursing was not great because within 2 hours of my mother being in the facility she thought she knew what was better for my mother than I did. She ended up moving my mother to a different nursing home that’s 30 minutes away from me and told me it was only 10 minutes. She said she couldn’t meet my mother’s needs because she uses tobacco yet they let another patient and employees smoke on premises. She also was rude and made a comment that one of the nurses from my mom’s previous nursing home told me all about your mother but wouldn’t go on and explain to me what she meant by that. My mother agreed she wouldn’t use tobacco on their property but the lady had made up her mind she wanted my mom out of there and I don’t understand why. She also made up a story that my mother was going around to all the doors trying to escape, that she was setting off all the alarms and disturbing the patients. When I asked my mother about it she said no that she saw someone smoking and tried to go out and join them. My mother had just arrived there and didn’t know which doors she could use to get outside because some doors have alarms and others don’t. The director of nursing is on a power trip and hopefully by this review someone up in the ranks will do something because she’s turning away good business.

River City Rehab is an lovely facility with an excellent staff. My loved one has dementia and has lived here for about 18 months. The facility itself is clean, well-maintained, and attractive. The food service is excellent and offers a restaurant or room service for residents. They have daily activities for residents, as well as a salon, religious services, and visiting dentist on site. They have given her excellent care and I don’t have to worry about her and how she’s being treated when I’m not there. They treat her so well, just like they would their own family. The staff is always proactive and responds quickly and thoroughly whenever the rate problem has arisen. I’m extremely impressed with them and I’ve recommended there countless times to my family and friends. I’m so grateful for River City Rehab and their excellent staff.

Worst care I’ve ever witnessed. Left my family member in bed all day, not responding for an hour after she pushed the call button. Not providing her with her meds for hours. The facility was dirty and the staff was very rude.

We chose River City Rehab Center for my dad because of the location and good facilities. So far, they've been very helpful in moving him in and giving him great care. The staff is very helpful and the food is a well-balanced diet. They seem to have lots of activities like bingo, bible studies, and group stuff. They have a lot of nice outdoor areas and a lot of meeting places if the family wants to visit.

My mom has been in River City Rehab for two months already. The food is good. The people are wonderful. One thing I don't like is that there are a lot of agency nurses that don't know much. So it's hard getting doctors to come and look at certain issues that my mom has. They have a hair salon. They have a lot of different fun activities that they do, and that's nice. Overall, the nursing facility is great and clean. My mom is taken care of and doesn't have any bedsores. The staff members are very kind and know them all by name. The only trouble is just when she needs to go to the bathroom, and it takes a while for them to come because they have a lot of patients for one nurse. They need more staff. The food is delicious looking and smells great. They get home-cooked fresh food.
