I urge you to NEVER place your loved one in this Assisted Living Facility nor at the one located right next door (447 E. 31st Street), which has the same owner, Jorge S.. The facility is extremely understaffed and we had a HORRIBLE experience at this facility. My mother was there for 10 months and my Father visited her for hours on a daily basis, while I visited her weekly, due to the distance. My father had to constantly remind the owner that my Mother was running low on diapers, ensure, etc...the doctor assigned to her never bothered to answer any of our phone calls and the doctors assigned to that facility, simply go to the office, sign off on all of the visits, and NEVER bother to actually take a minute to visit with the residents/patients. We saw this with our own eyes. We kept my Mother there, simply because we saw that one of the employees who attended her, would attend to my Mother with so much care (so we thought), Each time, we went to visit, she was nicely dressed, smelling good, full of talcum powder everywhere, arms and legs with lotion, nails painted, etc....as a result, we never imagined what was going on throughout her private areas, since everything on the outside looked so well. We finally decided to move my Mother because it was so aggravating to see that the facility was just not taken care of, there were leaks everywhere, the food that was served was so bad that my Father was buying my Mom's food and drinks (they served Hawaiian Punch, which is pure sugar and coloring, to these seniors), too many complaints to list. Once my Mother was moved out of there and placed in a new ALF, that same day when they went to bathe her, they discovered that she had major bed soars on her butt, each side on her hips, and underneath her breasts she was completely full of raw blisters and fungus. We could not believe that this was the same woman we always found dressed up and smelling good when we visited her. It was like looking at a pretty apple from the outside, but completely rotten on the inside. My father and I are so disgusted with this place that we urge anyone who is even considering to place a loved one in either of the locations, NOT to do so!! We have the pictures to prove the lack of personal care & hygiene, which led to my Mother's sores, blisters, and fungus. This is complete abuse, especially, since my poor Mother suffers from alzheimers/dementia and cannot even defend herself nor complain about the mistreatment! Please do not place your loved ones in this location and spread the word. Nobody deserves this kind of treatment!! Unfortunately, I cannot rate the facility with a "negative" score, therefore, in order to submit this review, I have to at least rate it with "one" star, which it certainly does NOT deserve!!! Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like additional feedback about these facilities, which do not care about its residents whatsoever.
