My older and frail mother stayed there. She had a broken hip and needed a lot of care. I was heartbroken and felt helpless leaving her there. Listening to the screaming calls of the other residents, with no one attending to them is gut wrenching. Some of the residents as you walk by the rooms you can see the desperation in their faces as some are half dressed, some with a mess of food all over them because they can't feed themselves. The nurses do what they can. The food comes in late. Some are late with their medications. The other people that work there have a horrific attitude. They will yell at the patients and purposely ignore the residents if they are upset with them. I know there are some good people there working. Unfortunately some of the people working there feel obligated to actually DO THEIR JOB. The rooms for the most part are clean. They are shared with other residents. The private rooms cost too much. Bathrooms are not so clean and need more upkeep. Asking someone a question elicits a sigh or a rolling of the eyes with an attitude. This is a business of taking care of the elderly and the sick. There needs to be more compassion and care in this field. I get it your life may suck, and you don't want that job, but it's the one you have. They must treat people decently. These are people's mothers, fathers, sons, daughters. They are at their most vulnerable state of their lives, many at the end. Compassion please, I don't know what else I can do.

This place is the WORST. Non caring uncompassionate nurses and CNA"S. They also are very rude and nasty to Residents. Do not bring your friends or family to this facility

My father was to receive PT here. Aside from the fact that he got very very little PT, the place was absolutely filthy.

My mother was at Sandgate Gardens for rehab. They did not have enough staff to take care of the people properly. My sister-in-law and I had to stay there just about all the time. She would go in the morning and she would be there for her breakfast and lunch. When I got off work, I'd be there for supper until she went to sleep. You can't trust these people to give her what she's supposed to have, and you can't trust them to get there in time. They will leave her in the bathroom by herself and whenever she was done, they took forever to come back and clean her up. It's a horrible place. The employees themselves were not so horrible, they just didn't have enough CNAs there. The food was horrible. The place was extremely plain, there's nothing fancy at all, and it's a very poor looking, pretty sad place.
