My mother is in Heritage Oaks of Englewood. She's not getting any assistance. It's just a community that she can live in so she can have socialization and meals and all of that. She's gonna be there for five months. She's just renting a one-bedroom apartment there. You can add on services as you wish, but we haven't added on any service. It's very beautiful visually and well-maintained. The staff is very good. Mom loves it there and she's just been there for a couple of weeks. My brother brought her down a couple of weeks ago. We've been over to see her a couple of times, but they seem to be paying attention to any needs that she might have. Yesterday I was there, the occupational therapist was taking her blood pressure and just checking to see her status and how she walks and all that. I think she's one of the few that does not need a walker or a wheelchair and she is doing very well. They'll keep an eye on her to make sure that if something changes, they can remedy that. She's getting three meals a day, light housekeeping, and laundry once a week. There's a lot of bingo and other games. There are lots of activities. Yesterday, they had a program where there was a guy who played piano and sang Christmas songs. I think tonight they're going to go on a bus trip to see all the Christmas lights. They'll take residents to shopping places once a week or so. My mom is always busy. They do coloring. Mom had never done that before, but she tried it and she's looking for people to play Bridge with and I think they finally found four people. She wants to find some people to play cribbage with. The food is amazing. My mom raves about the food. She said it's like getting a $40 meal at a restaurant. She loves it.

Dad moved into the Heritage Oaks of Englewood. He's getting really good hands-on care for the level of care that he needs. The place is very comfortable for him, nice-sized rooms, nice-sized bath area also, and it's relatively new, it's only about four years old. It's very nice. The staff is very hands-on and they communicate well with me to let me know how he's doing, typically once a week, and I really like them a lot. They have bingo at least three times a week, they also have a gym/rehab center now that they just opened for the residents, they have a cafeteria which is open at two different seatings three times a day, so that's really good. They can choose what seating they want.

Visiting Heritage Oaks of Englewood and speaking to Chris has been very pleasant. It was a very nice community, that's why I signed up for it. Everyone was pleasant and every question I asked was answered appropriately. I was very satisfied. They have a very nice theater there. I haven't been to the library but they have one. I just looked in the doorway and it looked substantial. The dining room is lovely and they explained to me that the menu is listed every day on these monitors in the hallways and it was very nice. Everything was explained to me beautifully. It's assisted living and they're going to be taking over my medication.

My tour at Heritage Oaks was fine. I saw the facilities and the accommodations they have. I didn't see that many people there. They had activity rooms, and nobody was in them. They were just a few people sitting around in wheelchairs. The other thing is I found it expensive. Since you have to buy your own furniture, it makes it even more expensive. It's a very nice and huge place. They have a studio, a 1-bedroom and a 2-bedroom. They have four or five different accommodations, but it starts with a studio. The staff was fine and honest enough up front, and we got along just fine. The staff was nice. They have a library, an exercise roon, and a very nice dining room. It's very spacious and quite new.

I saw the Heritage Oaks of Englewood. It was a very good tour. Everybody there was very friendly. The residents of the place looked happy and content like they wanted to be there. The studio apartment was a little small, but the building itself was designed very nicely. It was very clean. They had a very nice dining area, they had a patio, and there are flowers all around the building. It was very pretty.

I can’t begin to say how happy I am with the care my husband is receiving at Heritage Oaks, Memory Care. The staff from Sherry on down the line is outstanding. Everyday they smile, show amazing compassion, and just dig in and do whatever it takes to keep the residents clean, healthy and content. The food is good and healthy. The atmosphere is calming and immaculate. As with any place it’s the staff that makes it what it is and this staff is awesome. Thank you for giving me comfort knowing my husband is so well cared for.

Our experience is going very well. They provide an excellent variety of activities. The level of care by the staff is excellent. They provide transportation to doctor's offices as well as weekly grocery shopping. The three meals they provide offer variety and the food is very good. I'm pleased. My mom's room is very nice. The place is relatively new and fresh which is very appealing. There are many common areas that have more than adequate seating as well as television. They have open spaces for cooking, card games, and bingo. It's very well laid out and it's not too big or too small. My mom has housekeeping, laundry, and assistance with showering twice a week if she would like.

My husband and I had dinner with my mother last night and it was delicious. Service was fast, food was hot and portions were just right. My mother has been there since they opened and she has liked every meal she has. Bravo to the chef.
