Brookdale Rotonda was too expensive. It was very clean. The apartment was nice. The staff was very knowledgeable. The dining area was nice. It's also clean, and everybody looked happy eating there together. They have occupational and physical therapy. They play different games with the residents, too.

Brookdale Rotonda was very clean. The staff were phenomenal people. They were very personable and very nice people. Their building was kind of like a big square pattern and the courtyards were in the middle. Everybody's got their own room. They said that the residents there wanted to put up a screen door, which I thought was pretty cool. They put up a screen door so they can have the door open and still have a screen door there. It's almost like having your own place. The only thing that knocks it down is that whole nickel and dime thing like if my mom had to have medication given to her, they're going to charge you more. Everything's just on top of the base.

I visited with my father, getting the lay of the land. The Sales Manger Alicia was fantastic with dad and with me. He isn't ready to make the leap yet, but it is abundantly clear that she truly cares about her clients and her fellow employees. About a month after the visit, a last minute issue came up and Alicia was there for me. We wound up not needing Brookdale's services this time but she gave me a few names of local Private Duty Homecare companies she would trust her family with. It was the perfect recommendation for the situation unfolding. I can't thank Alicia enough for helping me help my dad. I am more sure now than ever that my dad will be in great hands when the time comes.

Brookdale Rotonda assisted living seemed a little bit more laid back for me. It was homey and very nice and they were quite complete with everything they had. It was just the feeling that I got there, it was more reserved and it was too quiet. Everybody was just sitting around and I didn't get to see too many activities of people participating there. My current place is just a little bit livelier to me. Brookdale was a little institutionalized, it was just a little too quiet. The residents were just sitting around, just talking to each other very quietly in the different places where you could sit outside. In my current place, they're sort of livelier and it makes you feel good. I'm going to be 89 years old in another week and I need that happiness. Also, the minute I walked into Brookdale, out came this lady and she's got two dogs and they're barking. I thought, "Oh, my God, if I had a room next to barking dogs. It would be a no". The staff were very nice and were very good though. They showed me everything.

We like Brookdale Rotonda because it's small, and they can cater to my father's needs better than a bigger facility. The staff is very helpful. They work with us and his adjustment with the quarantine and not living under my roof anymore. He doesn't use any of the facilities, but they try to get him to be involved in some of the activities. They have arts and crafts, exercise, and afternoon socials, but he doesn't do any of that. He just stays in his room. It's clean, and everybody's helpful. I've never had a problem with them. With Covid, we're not allowed to share meals with them. He's a very picky eater. If he doesn't like what they serve, they just ask him if he wants a sandwich or a slice of pizza. He's not a big variety type person. I hear they have good food, but I don't have anybody to ask because my dad doesn't offer any feedback. They used to go on outings, but now they don't. If they go on outings outside of the community, everybody has to quarantine for 14 days. They try to keep it as close to home as possible. In Florida, you get a better bang for your buck than other places. It's a little more reasonable down here, and he doesn't have a lot of income, so he's able to stay there at least for another couple of years with the little money he had left.

We like Brookdale Rotonda very much. It's family friendly. It's a very comforting community because it's small and the attention is very personal. The staff is excellent, they are very good. It's very convenient for me, ot's only 12 minutes away. My husband has gone on a couple of outings and he's gone to some of the men's conversation groups, so he is beginning to make friends. He's only been there a month. He seems very content with his 1-bedroom and I have furnished it with things that are familiar to him and he seems to be happy there. The food is awful. I could eat it, but my husband is very picky and he doesn't like it. I thought the price would be much less when they interviewed me at the beginning, but their personal service adds almost $2,000 a month. He can't walk, which is the main problem. He has to have help and a lot of assistance doing everything. They do about as good a job as you can expect.

Brookdale Rotonda is pretty much the place that I really wanted her into because it was only a couple of minutes away from me. They happened to have her apartment available at the time; it worked perfectly. I really like the staff, they are very friendly, the process to get in was pretty straightforward, and they answered all our questions. She is in pretty good physical shape, but she is not cooking for herself anymore, and this place has their own chef. The meals here have been really good and still in really good as far as that goes. It’s a smaller place, it only has 40 apartments, and everything is pretty close. They have an activities director who is constantly trying to get things for the residents to do and keeps them busy. She does a really good job. Everything is going really well. This company has bought this particular building, and they are redoing a lot of staff and very pleasing. They have a little kitchenette in their rooms, it’s kept really clean, and I really don’t have any complaints so far.

I went to Sterling House in Englewood. That looked nice as well, but they didn't have any openings. It looked clean, and they had something going on when I was there. There was somebody singing or playing the piano. The staff was professional in answering my questions. They just didn't have any openings. I would recommend that for anybody who is looking. I would tell them to go there. The rooms looked very clean and modern. The surrounding is nice. It is nicely landscaped, and it is a nice place. It would have been a definite possibility if they had any openings.

We got to Sterling House of Englewood right before lunch, and everybody was already in the lobby because they had a speaker and everybody was in wheelchair. What I didn't like are the rooms. The facility was set up like a big horseshoe, and everybody had a living room and a bedroom. The bedroom would have a nice sunny window, but as you walk in the front door of each and every apartment, the little living room had no sunlight. I wouldn't put my friend in a place like that because they weren't as cheerful. They did allow you to have a screened door on your room.

I toured this facility. I often heard about Sterling House of Englewood and their reputation, which was very good and has remained that way. The tour especially enhanced that. I saw many residents active doing exercises there must have been over 25 people exercising. I also looked at the monthly calendar for activities and there are so many things to keep the people engaged. My Aunt will love that she has always been social. The facility was very clean and presented as home-like and comfortable. The staff had smiles all the time we were there. I know that this is the place for my family member.

Sterling House of Englewood is really nice with good, competent people. The staff were very friendly. It was great, but it was beyond our means money wise. We were not able to see the rooms because after we talked, they didn’t show us any more because we knew we couldn’t afford it.

Mom is already on a waiting list for Sterling House of Englewood. This facility is very near to her friends and her sister, so they can come and visit her frequently. It is a very nice facility. They only have 42 residents. It's very clean and there's no smell. They had just put in new floor in the entry way and in the dining room. They would upgrade every room before somebody new moves in. It was just a very nice facility. It's built in where all the rooms were in the square and in the center, there's a very secure courtyard which has no access to the exterior of the building. Residents can walk around in this beautiful courtyard and it is just very nice. All the staff members were very friendly. The nurse and the chef introduced themselves to us. We had lunch there and the food was good. The wait staff was very kind and very helpful. The whole experience was very positive.

My aunt had lived in Sterling House of Englewood and we had a chance to check that place for my father as well. It was a nice place. Basically each person has his/her own room. They had wheelchairs for people if they need it. The staff were very nice and the residents there looked okay. She didn't have to worry about anything and they took very good care of her while she was there. The facility though was more than we could afford for my father.

These people are very compassionate - I feel very confident about having my mother move in here.
