I am very pleased with this facility, the staff, and most importantly the care that was given to my Grandmother. The interior and exterior of this facility is SPECTACULARLY clean and organized. The residents are treated with the utmost respect and care. Every time I visited Gran, I witnessed the staff in action. Examples of said actions include assisting residents and visitors, residents participating in various activities, residents enjoying a hearty meal in a “family” themed dining area, volunteers playing instruments and/or singing. The smile on my Gran’s face as she was twirled on the dance floor fills my heart with joy each time I’m reminded of that precious moment. The “good-deed” lists goes on and on. Thank you to all the staff, volunteers, residents, and all who came across my Gran’s beautiful path during her stay. I will forever be grateful. “Johnnie Mae G’s Granddaughter, Katonya

My grandmother is in Americare. It's very clean and has a very good menu. They're providing excellent care thus far. They also have scheduled activities that residents can participate in, so they're not just sitting or laying around. They get involved in different games, karaoke, and entertainment. They take care of them, and the staff is very nice. The grounds are lovely, and they have a beautiful lake and a nice walkway where the residents can walk outside and enjoy nature. It's really pretty.

We visited Water's Edge, and the staff seemed really nice as they were to the patients too. They have a full staff 24/7. They have food, and they have a nice area where they can go out in the back and sit or walk outside. They have all kinds of activities there, and it's very clean too.

If you're looking for a really good place in the West Volusia County area, it's Water's Edge. It came highly recommended to me by the Medicaid lady. I asked her if you had to put your mother some place, where would you put her and she recommended Water's Edge. I went out and interviewed them and I took my mother out and we both really liked the place. It is independently owned and it's extremely well-run. The majority of the employees there have been there for 10 years or around that mark. They're very caring. When any issues come up with my mother, they call me. They check on my mother on a regular basis. The thing that impressed me the most at Water's Edge is that I feel comfortable and secure that my mother is being well taken care of. The facility sits probably about a quarter mile back off the road and there's a lake that goes around the back of the place. It's difficult for anybody to get down to that lake but what they do have is this huge, open and large patio that is all screened in for people to go out there and enjoy that view. The front of this facility is they can go out, they have a sitting area out there where they have rocking chairs so it's just very pleasant. My mother has extreme blood pressure. She has hypertension and the doctor's orders were that she was to have her blood pressure taken every morning and every evening at the time when her medications were being given to her. Where she was before, they rarely took her blood pressure and also they would not seek her out to make sure that she had her medications so she'd go for days without her medications and that's not the case with Water's Edge. The staff is wonderful, very friendly, very caring and very bubbly. They have a tendency to bring people out when they're in a little bit of a slump. You can not feel good around them. They just always are very positive. The woman who runs the place, Eleanor, is probably one of the most dedicated people I've ever seen. She's at your beck and call 24 hours a day if you need her. The food is wonderful and the environment is very nice. There are never any bad odors. They take them shopping. They'll take them back and forth to the doctors and they have all kinds of entertainment going on there. They have games and parties and it's also in an environment where the people can get outside.
