I lived in Harbour's Edge before I moved to live close to my children. I moved into their independent living and I moved out 8 months ago. I liked it there because the community was alive and there were a lot of independent people. They always made the place a happy place. They were always having some sort of a party, bingo and gambling night, and even international day. They were always having some form of festivities, they always had something going on. The staff was wonderful. For international day, South America, Puerto Rico, and Cuba -- they all set stations, and they had food and dancing. They kept everybody happy and even during the pandemic, they would come and ring our doorbells to see us. They keep you happy and do things that were fun. You wouldn't feel like you were just existing there, they keep you alive. My apartment was beautiful, I was right on the Intracoastal, and I had a patio that's probably 800 sq ft. The apartments were big and everybody treated everybody like they were family. You will see an old housekeeper that you had once before and they'd go, "Oh, I'm so happy to see you". Everything was very warm and friendly. The sense of activity they had was great. They had sculpture classes, art classes, and Bingo. Just a whole array of things going on like lectures and music. I have nothing bad to say about them. The food was so-so but as a whole it was good and they tried, like if there was a complaint, they worked on it. They had a gym that was actually beautiful, it was new, big, clean and it was all glass so when you're working out, you're looking at the Intracoastal. There's also a little clinic with a doctor that was there 3 times a week. If you couldn't go and see your doctor, you can go in and see one of their doctors.

My sister spent 21/2 weeks in Harbors Edge rehab for a fractured hip. Here are my comments: There were bugs in her bed which the nurses did not do anything about until I came and insisted that they clean the bed. she refused to sleep in that bed the last few days. The nurses were dismissive and quite rude. She waited for at least 2 hours to receive pain meds after begging to get relief for her extreme pain. The nurses refused to give her a roll of toilet paper because they said she had enough to last her the night even though she said that if she had to use the bathroom in the night hours she would not have enough paper. It wasn't until the aid came to check on her and she again asked for paper did the aid help her and get her a roll. In saying that the aids were wonderful and very kind unlike the nurses. Physical therapy was really good and the PT people were kind and helpful. The food was pretty bad too. It was written on her chart that she is lactose intolerant but they kept giving her milk products that she couldn't eat. I was so happy when I was finally able to get her out of there. Just to say I discussed with with administration too. ...and just to think that this facility is rated better than others in our community. Wow too bad!!!

Harbour's Edge is a CCRC. Everything about it is beautiful, but it was much more expensive than anything else we had seen. It was much brighter. We saw more activities going on, and it was more upscale. They have several dining rooms and they cater to a more independent crowd. They arrange outings to various parts of South Florida.

My mom(98) moved into harbours edge to receive rehab for a fractured femur, broken ribs and a broken clavical. After around 5 days her mood began to change. The staff suggested psychological care. Unfortunately she had a UTI. Bacteria. When I returned to her room she was sitting as if she had a stroke. She passed 4 days later in the hospital from a bacteria traveling to her brain. After calling management they said I was making accusations and hung up on me. The nurse Carissa and aide Rose were wonderful to her.

The apartments are one of the main positive attributes of Harbour’s Edge—large, solid, insulated. Staff are generally friendly, helpful & kind. Years ago, the dining & food quality were good. Over the past 2-3 years however, the quality is inconsistent and overall not great. Kitchen staff are transient, the ones who are long term seem set in bad habits and do not implement healthy cooking and have lost creativity. Go enjoy a meal at a good quality restaurant, then eat at Harbour’s Edge for one week and you will be disappointed. Residents pay high fees and expect healthy, quality meals but the facility has cut costs too much. Understaffing is an issue.

We liked the size of the units at Harbours Edge and being on or near Lake Boca. The person who gave us the tour was excellent. She knew her stuff. She had been there for eight or ten years, and she was very helpful and did follow-ups. We were pleased when we asked her questions. Although nothing's perfect, she had a lot of good answers. We wanted a two-bedroom and some of the larger ones had beautiful wraparound balconies, large living rooms and when you move in, they completely gut the place with the very best and high-class kitchens, flooring, and paint. If you've already signed something, they can even move the walls for you. We saw the menus and there's a pretty good selection of things. So, there's nothing that I could complain about. They have two large, beautiful pools right on the water, they offer facilities that you could join like golf, they have large outdoor activities, and beautiful grounds. We have a dog and they have a dog park. So, they offer quite a bit.

Horrible daily care. Completely understaffed. My father fell under their care. Extremely disappointing administrator and social services director.

My mom has been at Harborsedge for years. She loves it. I even love visiting. Its spacious apartments, excellent staff, and fine dining are 5 star worthy. People are friendly with loads of activities. This is a high end place with high end residents. HE has recently been updated and the decor is lovely. The view of the intercoastal is also magnificent.

I visited Harbour's Edge before the pandemic and will be depositing there this week. This is by far and away the nicest place I have ever been with the best staff. They have been keeping in touch through covid and sending me virtual tours to select my new home. I cant wait to be a resident there soon!

Harbour's Edge is a beautiful place, but it's probably too expensive. I like the location. The common areas are beautiful. The gym, dining room, and the salon were very nice.

I have moved into independent living at Harbours Edge, and my experience has been very positive. It is a community that has gone through a $20M plus renovation, and the renovation has been hard on people because it went on for a long time and has caused some confusion, but the end result is lovely. It is an outstanding staff both in terms of skill sets and interpersonal skills. I have a large 1-bedroom, a very large living room, a dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, a washer and dryer, and a second powder room is also included. I liked it very much. I participated in many activities from entertainment to games playing and trips off campus as well as on campus.

The Harbour’s Edge has a high-tech theater. They just upgraded their theater, and they do shows all the time. They have lots of very good activities. All the meals are served restaurant-style, and you get 30 meals a month, so that is one meal a daym and you can choose which meal it is. But the residents say there is plenty of food, so they often take leftovers, so that helps them for having another meal. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the restaurant staff was very nice as well. Some of the apartments have wrap around balconies that face the bay, and they were very nice. They have great accommodations.

My mother was in Harbours Edge for a lower back injury. She received excellent physical and occupational therapy and was able to return home on schedule. Harbours Edge is a beautiful, airy, clean facility and the staff was always available to speak with us. We did long consults with the head of nursing regarding medication and health. My mother reported the food was excellent. I cannot say enough. It was a beautiful facility and I am very grateful for the care my mother received and the attentiveness of the staff.

When I visited Harbours Edge, there was some construction going on. The people are nice, but very expensive. Their apartments are very nice, but you can't just get in there; you need to pay them upfront. The location for me is convenient, and I also saw that the place looks modern.

I visited places and I've actually committed to a place: Harbour's Edge in Delray Beach. It has the right size unit for us with 1,700 sq. ft. and 9-foot ceilings, so its very big. They're also undergoing renovations, so it's actually going to be a brand-new community; you won't even know that it's 28 years old. They're totally redoing all of the public care units.

This is a wonderful facility if you are fortunate enough to get in. The rehab services are excellent. The food and staff are excellent. Both times my mother was there, her experience was positive and her health was restored.

I was attracted to Harbour's Edge by the pictures of the waterway. But the apartments really face the highway, and the building faces the inner coastal water. The pool is gorgeous. It's a little more pricey, about a $1,000 more, and the facility is about 36 years old. They're starting a program to rehab the place. They have 1,000 sq. ft. singles. They also offered an option that you put $10,000 down and wait for the apartment you want to come up. So I might do that. I'll do that, just see if I can get into the place, because it is kind of pricey and I'm not that rich.

Harbour's Edge was a very nice building. It's very contemporary style with high ceilings. There's a pool on the other side of the building, which faces the inter-coastal waterway. It was the most adult community I saw. They did seem like a place where adults are treated like adults not like a bunch of children who need to be supervised. The whole place was more like an adult community. They had cocktails in the afternoon, and people seem to be very happy there. That was the nicest place I've seen anywhere. The staff was very nice. But it's not a rental community. You have to buy the unit, and they're quite expensive. The apartments were small. They weren't great. The food was very good. The place felt very comfortable. It's right across the street from a major shopping center. When I visited, they did not have a satisfactory fitness center. I understand that they now do.

I went to Harbour View at Delray Beach which is a pretty high end, long term care facility that is pretty attractive. I like the construction, the amenities, the services, the assisted living and the long term care that is available for their clients should they need to advance to long term care.
