Facilities, amenities, staff (and even food) all exceeded out expectations. Preventive health and communication with residents (particularly through concierges) are all excellent. Campus area is interesting, safe and inviting. Proximity to Chevy Chase DC shopping and dining opportunities is helpful. Rooms are well thought-out and bright. Activities for residents are interesting and helpful.

Rooms are very small(500 sq. ft.) though uinits with lots of windows, have beautiful views and lots of light! They were wonderful when my family member came, but since Covid and the aftermath, they aare nvery short staffed and the turnover of management, senior positions and helping staff continues at a rapid pace. It is the most expensive facility in the country and has not been living up to its promises. Van unavailability has resulted in missed appointments, many activities and programs are in another building at the other end of the facility, so if a resident is not fully independent and mobile, they are unable to attend oor utilize the pool, gym, lectures, library, etc. There isn't anyone able to accompany a resident who needs help. Residents get their laundry done, but may not get it back. Facility looks beautiful, but ask MANY questions related to the above.

Ingleside at Rock Creek was beautiful. The person I talked to was the head of the marketing division and he spent about 3 hours with me. He seemed to be happy to show me around. The apartments were large and beautiful. They had a one bedroom with a den and without, then two bedrooms. They had a really pretty balcony, too. They had exercise places and nice dining areas. It had high ceilings. Everyone was very nice and very accommodating.

We're in the process of moving our aunt to Ingleside at Rock Creek. The location is the first reason why we chose this place. And by being a newer facility, it's a nice place, the rooms are nice and a good size. The staff, from the visit, I did an hour of talking and touring the place. It was clean and everybody seemed friendly. It just seemed like a well-organized place. One thing I like about it is when my aunt goes there and as her condition progresses, they have long-term care there. That way, she would not have to move to another facility, she would just remain there and just transfer to the long-term care unit. I like that they offer assistance if your funds are running out, they don't just kick you out. They do an evaluation, as they have a foundation that would help cover the costs.

Ingleside at Rock Creek is a nice community. They have 3 different sections to it. They have apartments for independent seniors, the next phase is assisted living and then they have the nursing home. It was like 3 all into one and everything is on the same property. They provide parking for those that would use it. We stayed on the nursing home side, we didn't go into the others. We saw them from a distance but it was the nursing home we toured. It was 4 floors, they've remodeled buildings and just remodeled that whole area up there and each floor has its dining area. They have single rooms. Of course, the staff is certified nurses and home health aides. It's pretty nice there. We kind of liked it because it's not too far for our family members to visit. We were there for about an hour or so and the lady was informative and talked to us all about the details. At the moment there were no vacancies so we were told that they would contact us or either we would call them at the time needed. We don't need one right now, but we're just searching to kind of get some information and to be ready when the time comes. The facility was nice. Everything is modern, they have security at the door and the process for checking in is very nice. They're very on top of things. We saw their dining area but at the time, everything was closed up. There was nobody there. I guess they were preparing to fix the food because you could smell the aroma of the food. I guess it's for their dinner time. It was really like walking into a palace. The place was beautiful. The staff we met was excellent and just very cool and calm when she showed us around. We went into one of the rooms that were vacant and everything was set up nicely. They have their own TV and a nice sunny room. The nursing home is the first building as soon as you come into the parking lot and then the other buildings, the assisted living, and the apartments sit on the end. You get a good view of Rock Creek Park there because the rear of the facility faces Rock Creek Park. It's nice up there. It's off Military Road, which is a busy street with bus stops and all that. Once you're inside the facility though, it feels like you're in a different part of the world. It's calming there, its nice.

I took a tour at Ingleside at Rock Creek. They built two new buildings dedicated to independent living, and the program they offer suits me where I am. It gives me the opportunity that if I need more help, I can get it via the other areas of Ingleside. I haven't moved in yet, but I am impressed with what people who have experience with having patients there or have been there themselves say. Nobody has a negative word to say about the place. I have only met with the two or three people who are helping me get admitted, and I haven't come in contact with the service people, but from what I hear from people who have experience that, it's very good. It's brand new, and it is designed to serve people in my situation. It looks like a fine hotel. They have built two new buildings just for independent living, and I am moving into one. The menu that I saw had Maryland crab cakes, duck breast, and salmon; it's a very sophisticated menu. From what I saw, the facility looked brand new and hasn't been worn down yet, but I don't know what the older buildings were like. The facility was designed and built to take care of people who are able to live independently but want some services.

I was fortunate to move into Ingleside at Rock Creek in mid-March just as the city was closing down. It was impressive to see how quickly administration moved to protect our health while at the same time making sure our needs are met. While both residents and staff are respectful of masking and distance protocols, we are free to roam the buildings and the outdoors. Many meetings and activities are being "Zoomed." The staff is friendly, helpful and cheerful. This is a great place to be right now and I am looking forward to being able in the future to fully enjoy the many amenities here.

Friends don't let friends move into Ingleside! This place is a horrible mess of a disaster! Don't let the brand new shining buildings fool you because the older buildings are slums. I know 2 former residents who literally give up tens of thousands of dollars just to get out of that hell hole. 2 of the mid rise buildings have single elevators which constantly break down, sometimes for 3 or 4 days. Can you imagine your 90 year old mother trapped in a building like that? How can the Fire Marshall allow something like this to go on? Some of the apartments had mold on the walls, and the water was found to have legionnella - a family member confirmed that 2 of the residents who lived there were diagnosed with Legionnaires disease. The place also has terrible management. They have had 4 different directors in 3 years and the staff changes all the time. If I could give 0 stars, I would.

The rooms are fantastic, big, very clean and comfortable! The staff is polite, responsive, courteous! The whole process of selecting the facility, signing the contract and moving in was flawless! The food is delicious. Since the assisted living facility is new the daily programs are limited but residents can participate in activities in the independent living section of the complex. My husband moved in 11 days ago, so far I rate the facility excellent!

1. Since we are waiting for our apt to be built, I have no idea what the rooms are like. 2. Staff interactions? Excellent all around 3. Since we have not moved in, no idea what activities residents enjoy 4. Will need to wait and see all the amenities community offers

This is a time of transition for Ingleside at Rock Creek, in terms of management and physical plant. In the process, resident input seems to be respected and important, so future prospects look good.

My wife and I moved into Ingleside at Rock Creek (IRC) five years ago, at a relatively young age--Freshpeople again.. We have absolutely no regrets. We have made 100+ new friends, potentially engage in more activities than we can schedule, and thoroughly enjoy the grounds and neighborhood. Even the ongoing construction with its nuisances is a source of entertainment. What we like most is that IRC is community with all that term involves in terms of celebrations along with a few controversies. The latter are generally resolved via a shared commitment to community. The food is excellent and too plentiful. The staff are amazing; for example, they learn our names from almost the first day. The facilities are improving; we love our Ravine. Value is in the pocketbook of the respondent, but we believe we are receiving value for our contributions.

The room I went to at Ingleside at Rock Creek had two bedrooms, a bath, and a kitchen. You could have your floors however you want: carpet or wood floors, they will do that for you. You get your own washer and dryer. I saw a room where the ladies were doing artwork, a craft room, and a nice cafeteria where the food looked pretty good. It was nice and clean, which was what I liked about it. However, it was more than I could afford. They had a place where they gather for different activities. The lady who waited on me was very nice, knew what she was talking about, and presented me with different brochures that I could look into if I wanted to buy because they were building a new complex somewhere.

I love the beauty of nature that surrounds us at Ingleside. I love the intellectual interests through programs, discussion groups, and people sharing their interests and their careers. The staff is warm and friendly. And my son and family live nearby..,my grandson loves to eat here, says the food is better than any restaurant!

We chose Ingleside because we wanted to be in DCand because we had several friends here who like Ingleside. We found many new friends among the intelligent and welcoming people here. They have interesting things to say. We were struck by the extreme friendliness of the staff.. Dealing with tem is a pleasure. The food is very good for a place like this, and special occasions are marked with special food and decorations. Finally, it is located in a besutiful place overlooking Rock Creek Park. In short, we are delighted we came.

For us,moving to Ingleside was a great experience. We have a beautiful apartment that was redecorated to meet our expectations. The openness and welcoming nature of the staff and the residents quickly dispelled any concerns we may have had. The food here is good and healthy and the wait staff are pleasant, professional, and helpful. Not only that, but they learned our names very quickly! Getting to know the residents here has been a pleasure and participation in the many activities has been most enjoyable.

Ingleside at Rock Creek was a pretty decent institution and was very well-kept. My grandfather had a little bell in his room when he needed them. For the most part, they came when he called and took care of him. I think it was a pretty good thing for him. My grandfather was in the assisted living portion.

Ingleside at Rock Creek is not your typical nursing facility. Rated as one of the best facilities in the DC area, this diverse community was home to my father for over 4 years. The staff operates with a sense of compassion and concern for all residents. They are connected to the residents as well as family members to provide caring and quality care. They provide daily activities that are fun and exciting, keeping the residents engaged. The choice to place a loved one in a nursing facility can be a hard and stressful decision. However, when caring for a loved one becomes to challenging for family members, Ingleside at Rock Creek is the next best thing to being home. You will have peace of mind knowing that quality care will be provided.

Ingleside is in a very attractive location, right in Rock Creek Park. The residents are interesting, well-educated socially active people and we have many friends there. The buildings are reasonably well kept, though the management has been slow to fix problems the last several years. The front line staff in independent living are usually pleasant, though staffing levels have been cut to the bone and it shows. The dining room is what you find at a mid-level hotel. Nothing exceptional with middle American food. Entrees tend to be bland and over-cooked, with some exceptions. There is a lot of turnover with the wait staff and it can take a long time to get served. The nursing center has been declining for the last several years. It is one of the most expensive options in the area, but the quality of care is quite poor. Again, the low pay leads to significant turnover, and the staff are overworked and can be very short-tempered. The management is very disorganized and has trouble keeping track of medication and paperwork. We experienced numerous episodes where it took far longer than it should have for a caregiver to respond, one was for a fall. If you are considering Ingleside BE SURE to talk to as many residents as possible, and in particular family members of residents of the nursing center. The residents have no voice on the board, and every year there are new arbitrary fees, and the existing fees have been rising significantly. Unfortunately we did not learn about the problems until we had bought in. Ingleside is not the same place we moved into some years ago, and we will be moving out.

My husband is in the long term nursing facility at Ingleside, which is okay. He really needs a memory care unit but they don’t have one yet but they are building a wing. The staff is wonderful. The whole facility is very beautiful and well-maintained but very expensive. The long term nursing unit is more like a hospital facility. They have individual rooms with bathrooms with a sink and a toilet. There’s a bathing and shower station where clients are bathe. There’s a communal dining room and another room where they can watch television. They have various outings, music days and they have pets to come to visit. You can bring your own things in the rooms to make you feel more at home. They have physical, occupational and speech therapy. The food is good too.

Ingleside was top-notched, and the staff was very nice. There is a new wing that?s being built; we will have a very nice and spacious unit. The dining area was very nice and upscale. There are a lot of common activities, and the locale was better. It felt very much residential. They have an existing facility that they will be tearing down.

I had a very pleasant visit at Ingleside at Rock Creek. The person I met was a very smart young woman, and it was a very pleasant facility. We saw an apartment that was furnished, and it was absolutely beautiful. The woman living there was kind enough to let us in. It was elegant and well kept.

Mom was at Ingleside at Rock Creek. We loved it until she had a stroke. When she had a stroke, they put her into a facility that I didn’t like at all. I like the staff because they are kind and caring to my mother. The grounds are beautiful, and the place as a whole is beautiful as well.

I visited Ingleside at Rock Creek several times because I have a friend who lives there. It is a little facility at the District of Columbia. It is a first class facility. They have all levels of care. It is physically attractive with lots of things to do. If I had a choice I would have chosen this facility.

It is the most beautiful place we've visited. But you have to buy into it. I talked to them a couple of times. They sent me a brochure with all the layout and pictures of the apartment. I lived and worked in Washington D.C. before I retired, and I've always loved that area. There is so much to do there and so many activities there and I missed all of that. That's where I want to go.

Beautiful location and new facilities have just been added. The location right on the edge of Rock Creek Park is very special. The food is good and the staff very caring. Hard to find anything to fault. It is not close to any services but there is a good transportation program. the new building are really beautiful and make the most of the woodsy setting.

A beautiful setting nestled on the edge of Rock Creek Park. No services and shopping close by however. The apartments are reasonable sized and well furnished. Dining room food and services are well good. Fellow residents seem very congenial.

A full continuing care retirement community located in northwest District of Columbia with sponsorship by a Presbyterian affilliate. Residents pay a membership fee, refundable inpart depending onlength of residence, and a varying monthly fee. Residents include former foreign services and other government personnel. Facilities are favorably situated next to Rock Creek Park. Public areas and grounds are attractive but apartments are not spacious. Residents have only a limited voice regarding fees and other policy matters. Assisted living and nursing care seem to be of high quality. New larger resident quarters are under construction by revamping some building areas. Occupancy may lagging due to economy.

This is a small facility offering a number of levels of care, from independent living to assisted living to memory care to skilled nursing care. It's located near Rock Creek Park, which affords a very pretty setting. The facility is currently going through a transition and renovating extensively, especially on the older side of the building, which is for skilled nursing residents. But even during renovation, they obviously put added energy into keeping it clean. The whole place is run in a very organized way. While there are residents in need of varying degrees of care, they all seem to be engaged and content. The staff, from the front desk receptionist to the nurses, is very professional and involved. There is a good staff to resident ratio"”and they also make a real attempt to get to know the families and even the visitors. The assisted living units are a nice size, with good views of the park or trees; most have big windows; there are no cooking units. Most people eat in the common dining room, which offers several choices during mealtimes. And most residents say they like the food there. There is a bank and several eating areas onsite. And there's also a consignment store in which residents can swap clothes; many of them look forward to that and want to see what's new each week. There is also a coffee and juice place, where residents can sit around and chat together. There are a number of planned events, such as outings to local performances, but the staff also engages residents with games and discussions of current events in the news. A drawback: Because they are getting down to the barebones during renovation, that may be a little headachy in the future; some passageways will be knocked down and navigating inside will be a little confusing while construction is going on. There will also be a lot less parking space available for visitors during that time. Residents who enter Ingleside at Rock Creek in independent living are given preference if they need to transfer to a level of higher care, so this facility may be good for people who don't want to face moving a number of times as their care needs change.
