I love Cadia Rehabilitation Broadmeadow. My mom was there for six to eight weeks. She loved it. The food was phenomenal. Everything was phenomenal. It was amazing, it's top-notch, and it's a five-star place, but the insurance won't cover it. However, the place was perfect. Doctors, nurses, and therapists, everybody was on point. The room that she got there was beautiful. She was private at the time because it was COVID, and they wouldn't let anybody around at the time. Everything was perfect. The facility is beautiful.

My father was at Cadia Rehabilitation Broadmeadow for rehab, which is right here in Middletown. He was there for, at least a month. It was after a car accident back in 2018. The rehab part of it was fine. They worked with him very well. As far as the people who worked there, the nursing staff was great. It was right down the street from where I live, so I was there a lot. I did notice that the staff themselves would talk about whose turn it was to do something. The people would always gather in this main area. It's off to the side (which is nice in itself), but there was no TV and there was nothing for them to do. Maybe they colored, but nobody sat with them to play games or whatever. This one woman who was there had her wits about her. She was not in a nursing home type of situation, and she actually befriended my father. She would sit and color with him and talk to him (back when he could actually talk). I can only rate the rehab side. The rehab was good, but the service was not. It's crazy because they have a TV in their room, but they were small TVs. They were high up on the wall. You can imagine an elderly person, who wants to sit in bed and watch TV; it's all the way up on the wall and not even very big to start with. He never watched that TV. The food was fine. There were a couple of times when I ordered the food too when I stayed, so I had tried it for myself. It's definitely clean, well maintained, and cleanliness was definitely there. The furniture was in good shape, and it looked great. It was clean. It was updated, and it was cheerful. It looked really good, which is why I was very happy when he was first put there. The nurses and PTs (the professionals) were all great. It was the other workers who were not.

I have not met any of the staff at Cadia Rehabilitation Broadmeadow, but just phone conversation has been very good. Everything I've asked, and callbacks, they've been compliant with. I can just drop stuff off in the lobby, it's a very nice building and well-kept. You just have to make an appointment with their activity person if you want to visit. We can now have inside visits or outside visits with my mom. They have a backup of people waiting to visit. They're just very careful. If I have anything to take there, I can take it to the lobby and they would get it to my mom. I've been very satisfied. I think it's on the expensive side, but I'm satisfied with the care my mom is getting.

This facility was overcrowded, uncaring and often too distracted to properly care for mother. On three occasions I was advised that my mother had fallen. The staff was aware the she had undergone brain surgery and suffered multiple strokes prior to arriving the facility, yet she was left alone, once in the restroom. She was hospitalized twice, once with a head injury that resulted in an egg-sized lump on her forehead after having fallen on her face. If you take your loved ones to the facility, monitor every interaction diligently.

Broadmeadow was very good. They care about my mother. I went there initially because she had broken her ankle, and she needed rehab. Sanitation is very good.

Mom chose Cadia Rehabilitation because we have family living in Middletown, and it's close to her home. That was going to be the most convenient for family. It's both a nursing home and a rehab facility. For the most part, we were happy. We thought she got good rehab. She was walking very well when she finished her stay there. We only had one concern and that was because she had gotten a blood clot and there was some confusion about what type of medication she should be on when she left. They were saying that she should be on Coumadin. The doctor that was following her with the blood clot did not prescribe that, and he was not happy that they put her on Coumadin. It was a little bit of a hassle right there at the end when she left. But that was the only issue. The care was good. She felt that they paid good attention to her. It was a lovely facility and we were very pleased with it.
