I am/was a resident of this facility

do not ever go to this nursing home for anything. Staff is cold and fowl mouth. I had better care at home. The shop around before thinking of this place.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom is there now and we'd like to get her out. They are severely understaffed, which I think is true for many facilities. As a result they take forever to address needs/call buttons. Some staff are wonderful, many others have no patience for these elderly folks. Also, there is very little hot water for showers; my 92-year-old mother had to take a cold shower! They have very few recreation activities available for residents. There is no one who is available to address mental health needs (counseling) perhaps because so many residents have dementia or other issues; if you are cognitively ok this isn't a great place.

I visited this facility

The care at St Mary’s was just awful. The place is filthy, the food was horrible, I would not feed the slop to my dogs! My brother was there for a month recovering from a stroke and the nursing staff were completely incompetent. There were almost no CNA’s to speak of and those that bothered to show up did as little as possible to help anyone! Nobody in this facility cares at all. Worst all around experience ever! I feel bad for the permanent residents

My mom is in rehab at St Mary Home. The facility is very clean. The people are friendly. If my mom needs assistance, they are always there, so I have no complaints. My mom is in a private room that's right next to another room, but they share the same bathroom. They have a room where they play music, and somebody plays the piano. My mother has physical therapy every day. She has a walker, but she's beginning to walk better. My mom loves the meals. She has insurance, so it was covered.

I am a friend or relative of resident

One of the worst experiences so far in taking care of my mother who has dementia. She was placed here to recover from a broken hip. We saw her while she was there multiple times a day for almost 3 weeks so needless to say we had A LOT of exposure to this place and we couldn't wait for her to get out and back to her other long term facility because of the following.... --She was left for hours on end in a soaking wet diaper, --when she was dry they had her sitting on a urine stained cushion so then her clean clothes were then dirty --- what about using a chucks pad? ---they only provided about 20-40min of physical therapy a day so if we wanted her to get her strength back we had to go and make sure we got her up and walking otherwise she would just sit there doing nothing but staring at a wall --- when we arrived after 9:30am the first few days she would be lying in her bed alone and almost naked asking for help while she was picking at her urine saturated diaper ---when we did find her dressed many times it was in someone else's clothes including their underwear --- they lost her clothes even though we had labeled them with her name ----my mother and the patients there are just left in a room with virtually no stimulation -- while a few of the staff members were useful and friendly, overall they were a lazy group as a whole; most didn't even speak to us or the patients but would just sit and chat together ---we'd ask multiple time for them to toilet her every 2 hours but they'd forget or say "she didn't tell us she had to go until it was too late" ---her UTI was left untreated and ignored even though we brought it up; we were told they were waiting for her to "get a fever to indicate if she really had one" ....let's just ignore the fact she had foul smelling cloudy urine, and had urgency ---the director of nursing didn't seem too interested in changing anything or apologetic at what was going on Now maybe other areas of this facility are good but the Dementia care unit -- West 1 ---is utterly depressing, pathetic, and an embarrassment of an institution looking to provide quality care in the name of Christ.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

The section where my husband is located at Saint Mary Home is part of the nursing home, but entirely winged off. The CNAs or the RN administer the medications, but generally, my caregiver is the one who stays with my husband whether he’s in his room or the dining room. Most of the people who are there are very old, so the physical therapist comes to them in their rooms. They do have at least one room for physical therapy, but the physical therapist would sometimes come to my husband’s room to work with him one on one. He’s only been there for about a week, so he’s still getting used to the facility and, of course, wants to come home. He is in a large, shared room with a wall in-between that essentially separates them for privacy, but they do share a bathroom. My husband’s roommate is usually out of his room all day, so he’s very quiet; my husband is the noisy one because of his dementia. The rooms are very nice and adequate. They’re certainly not the Taj Mahal, but they provide what’s necessary for him.

My father is placed in Saint Mary Home. He had been hospitalized for a fall and he went there for rehab, and we liked it. They had several levels of care, and we chose to keep him there. The room is very good; it's sunny and clean. The staff is good, professional, very helpful, and very responsive. If I call with a question, they get right back to me. My father says the food is very good.

My aunt stayed in St. Mary's Home after coming out from the hospital. They were great. They had meetings with family for updates. For what they do, they were excellent.
