The rooms are spacious and clean. The nursing staff is attentive and caring. Physical Therapy team is professional and work diligently to meet the goals of each patient. The kitchen staff work nicely together to prepare good home cooked meals and serve the residents with care. Activities are always in place for residents. Overall a great facility with approachable administration and nursing staff.

Do not send your loved one here. The care is very poor. My father was there for 5 weeks and fell 3 times. The third time landed him in the hospital with 3rd fractured ribs and a fracture in his pelvis.

Understafffed. Like a ghost town. No assistance for your family member for hours. Be prepared to stay with them 24/7. My husband within 36 hours of arrival found face down on floor broken nose. Overseeing by physician especially on weekends is non existent Had to call 911 to get him out got dehydrated due to no one offering liquids except a sip with meds multitude of problems serious enough two trips back to hospital with in a day 1:2 of arrival No business accepting admission with amount of staff. Never received a phone call to see how he was. Run out of here

Was provided poor care. Basically left alone. After asking a couple times if she wanted rehab, they never asked again. Was inconsistantly checked for changing. Released with unknown pneumonia and had to go back to hospital after one half day.

My mother was there for rehab, she was in a lot of pain which was not managed well and she was only given about 15 minutes of rehab a day and basically ignored for the rest of the time. Food was inedible slop. She was left lying in her own urine for hours. You could hear other residents yelling out in pain. She was no better off when she was released, I had top stay home with her for weeks. It was a total waste of time and money. Now she needs more rehab and doesn't want to go. It definitely won'tbe here again.

Hamden Health Center was nicely appointed and very clean, and they had outdoor areas where you can go out with your family to sit outside at picnic tables. My mother had physical therapy, she also had her hair cut and styled there. She was just well taken care of. I observed them doing Wii bowling, they had entertainers that come in to entertain, and they had a sing along with a piano player
